It stars with a good (as usual) Fuzzion track...those russians impress me.. :-) A fat rythm (as "brown eyed girl") with sometimes some dub sounds, solid melody. Then a Tarsis remix of a Phoetus track. it's starts very dark with voice fx...perfect for the dance-floor ! Track 3 is Ticon. It's called "Tekkno" and it's the B-side of Ass:tronaut. If you like this swedish band you will do like this track......it's so good, rythm is perfect.....Ticon is really one of the best new goa project ! Track 4 is another track from Fuzzion called "fertilizer"...if you get the "Xplan:Nations" compilation you will recognize the begining sample "You're dead man, you're so dead" and.....mmm ?..yes this is the same track that "Killer"...so a very good track but why two names and why put a track already released on another TIP-World compilation ? Track 5 is a remix of a Bus track....like all Bus tracks it's average...maybe it's not well equalized...Next track is "The warp" from GMS..(B side from 1200 mics). What a track ! better than an energy drink ;-) Then a (very poor) Pap's track, looks like an amateur stuff...Hope Pap's will do better the next time. You may know De:Generate from Absolum ? track 8 is Re:Generate. Absolum makes very good music and this track proves it..Some fx are really originals, I like this minced fade out in the middle of the track. Voice samples are good (and frightening) too. This compilation ends with Citizen Kaned..a kind of "once uppon in the west....of trance"...a good and original ambient track. This compilation is very good, all tracks (exept T5 and T7) are killers tracks.....Maybe TIP-World is becoming the leading trance label in the world..... :-( ) Rating : 9/10 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest tripiatrix[at]yahoo[dot]com Posted January 22, 2001 Share Posted January 22, 2001 First let me start by saying that this is by no means a "best of tipworld" comp because it is definetly NOT. they are not even the best releases of the year, this cd is a "previously unreleased" on cd affair of flipsides and stuff:-) tk1 is an excellent tk from the russians full of samples from the movie , funky and ever changing this tk is excellent!! 9,5/10 tk2 is in the same sort of style but tripier, a very good tk 8/10 tk3 brings ticon and the flip to the brilliant ass-tronaut! however this is not so good,lacks the energy and is quite boring, worst ticon i heard:-( 6/10 tk4 is exactly the same as killer by fuzzion on xplanations, but different name???? why? good track though 8,5/10 tk5 is a rmx of the bus original and sounds like bus always does, a sort of mellow trippy style which always ends up being 'nice' 7,5/10 tk6 is a reserved tk for GMS takes ages to go anywhere but does end up being a good tk, this is the flip to 1200µgms 7/10 tk7 is a fucking a mad one from paps that seals his rep as a highly skiled producer , dark, minimal and trippy not for everyone but v.good for me 8,5/10 tk8 bangs on in typical absolum style 7/10 tk9 finishes the cd on a totally different note, this is a bass n' breaks tune from benji(cyberbabas/process) that doesn,t fit in with the others and is more of a dope tune 8,5/10 this release is more dark/minimal than tips others and is not as good as the nations but is definetly worth checking i give it 7,8/10 roll on moovgroov2!! Besides, some of the tracks, like Phoetus and Stoop and Fidget, were released before on the CD's (not on TIP maybe...). So - 6/10 overall for me... Phoetus , ticon, fuzzion sucks. Guest squidbyte Posted January 22, 2001 Share Posted January 22, 2001 this compil is divided between some boring techno garbage and some really nice borderline stuff that still preserves enough goa alements to be interesting. absolum adeptly busts out the sonic mayhem with re-generate [the only use of matrix samples that has ever been good.. they're subtle and fit with the vibe VERY well]. GMS's track is sweet, the last chill song is nicely put together, and i have a bit of a soft spot for sparkling soup with its funky drums [but its not that good]. i have most of this on vinyl so its nothing new for me... this compilation is not worth purchasing i would say.. most of it is quite dry. Guest swoop Posted January 23, 2001 Share Posted January 23, 2001 how can you say Paps sucks? it's soooo goood... probably the best track in the whole compilation. i give this compilatin an overall rating of 8/10 and for those who doesnt seem to know, the sampling in the fuzzion tracks is from the Dazed and confused movie. Citizen Kaned - President Johnson is the tune I remember most after listening to it, and ofcourse Fuzzion - Fertilizer, because it was the same track as on Xpla:nations , where it was called Killer .. No problem with it, I think Fuzzion is a c00l group ! Phoetus - Sparkling Soup is good also, but this track has already appeared on many compilations.. GMS and Absolum are great groups, if they appear on a compil. just go ahead and buy it .. Download from 3D vision for example (another great compilation) .. PLAY LOUD, CITIZENS OF THE BEAT !! Guest DPD Posted May 27, 2001 Share Posted May 27, 2001 I bought this for $6! definately a great album, like usuall compilations only 3 or 4 of the tracks really caught my eye. thes tracks are : fuzzion:dazed n confused, paps-digital ache, and absolum-re-generator...i really LOVE the paps track, i don't know what the fuck people are talking about saying it sucks... it's fucking amazing. you reallly have to play it loud though, i love that clean bassline! and the nice drum works, keeps you dancing, very adrenile bumpin. the absolum is nice too! nice and energetic, the first track on the album, the fuzzion track i thin kthe samples make it but it's pretty cool:)...i'm really into paps after that track though! damn it's so sweet! this is not an album to be listened to on a low volume! crank this shit! I'd give it an 8/10 and people, listen to what DPD says above here... Crank that shit up!! Especially when listening to Fuzzion, Ticon & Absolum. Oh yeah, I like the Stoop & Fidget track too...!
