Guest Diepeveen
V/A - Israel's Psychedelic Trance 5 Artist: Various Title: Israel's Psychedelic Trance 5 Label: Trust In Trance Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 08'01" Astral Projection : Anything Is Possible 02. 06'32" Anti Gravity : New Gravity 03. 07'25" Alien Project Feat Astrix : Genetic Eyes 04. 07'42" Astral Projection : Another World (Passenger Rmx) 05. 08'06" Santeria : Koza Nostra 06. 06'27" One Man Crew : Double Click 07. 08'55" MFG : Dark Waters (Brighter Mix) 08. 08'06" Green House Effect : State Of Mind 09. 06'28" Passenger : A.320 Project Review: HhhMmm... Let me see! Take two spoons of Astral Projection, Some Erez Aizen (One Man Crew) and a little Passenger and WHOOOPII what do we have?! - An Israel's Psychedelic Trance Comp Now... Is it good?! - Well it works for me!!! It's typical TIT stuff... Very melodic, a little cheesy... But good, clever and earhanging melodies! Astral Projection suprises me with a really good track. Much better than the "Burning Up" and "AXIS V.0.99" stuff! Best tracks on this comp: 1,5,8,9. The quite good tracks are: 2,3,6,7. The only track that's just not me is the Passenger Rmx of Another World. I expected something that sounded, just a little, like the original! But anyways, it's not bad. It's just the first hand impression that slipped ... This is actually a very fine compilation, but it still stands in the shadow of the first one in the serie: Israel's Psychedelic trance Vol. 1... It's very nice to see that there still are some old school isra-trance left in this world. Everything is so minimalistic and dark nowadays! All respect to DIMO, Nick Doof and so on... But what i'm trying to point out is, that it's nice that there's space for both kinds of trance. So... If u like melodic israelian trance, and want something that you can play at parties, without half of croud calling u a psycho, then this cd will come in quite handy! 8/
Guest skaha
Whether you like this comp or not may depend on how much Israeli trance you already have. I know that isn't a totally objective view point but perhaps you won't discover much new in this if you already have a lot of this sound. As for me, I don't have much in the way of Israeli melodic trance so I was happy to pick this up. Favorites were 1,3,4,6,7. The AP track that starts things off has great feeling and AP have joined the pantheon of groups that have sampled from the Matrix. It is not a complex track but it has a warm, full sound that does the job well. The Alien Project track rocks - starts off with a sample from Blade Runner that'll make ya giggle. Well written track that evolves through a number of phases and delivers a great climactic rip. Personally I haven't heard the original Another World (like I said, never bothered to collect much Israeli trance) but the Passenger remix is nice on its own - nice seductive mystical creepy female vocals in the mix. I really liked the MFG track - it almost reminded me a bit of old Black Dog stuff - not in structure, but in some of the sounds and the voice used in the sample - excellent melody on this one. The Passenger track at the end is a bit of a teaser; it has a nice solid sound and rhythm but it doesn't really develop - felt like it could have had a few extra minutes to go further storywise. All in all, it is worth the money if you like melodic - it isn't hard hitting or full-on and some of the tracks sound a little commercial and cheesy depending on your mood at the time, but there are enough that are definitely not cheesy and have a nice uplifting, mystical sci-fi feeling to them. Maybe listen before you buy it...
Guest Phaedrus[at]austin.rr[dot]com
Fair enough, here is my 2 cents worth - Another very good installment in the Israel's Psychedelic Trance series. My favorites are 1, 3, and 5. I really enjoyed the Astral Projection track ? reminded me of Dancing Galaxy. The Alien Project featuring Astrix track was superb, too ? strong bass line with dark and different melodies. The Santeria track progressed very nicely and would be a great dance track. The MFG and Passenger tracks were definitely like ?The Message? ? the melodies were more subtle and they would benefit from being played on a really big system. I will probably get into them more after a few more listens. I though that the album should have finished with the Greenhouse Effects track as that was more of a melodic, morning trance song than the Passenger tune. Overall ? Very good, classic sounding (for the most part) Israeli trance. Get it for the Astral Projection track if nothing else.
Guest Diepeveen
I've changed my mind about some of the tracks... The rmx of Another World is okay... I just had to listen to it a couple of times. And track 3, The Alien Project thing is awesome! The voice that says "Geneic Eyes" is taken from the great Blade Runner game... All for now
Guest Swede indeed
A pretty good compilation. The first two tracks are a little too soft for my taste. Nr 3 is pretty good, more like psy trance and The Passenger mix of A W is really good, hard and dark. Koza Nostra feels like how AP sounded somwhere between TIT 3 and Dancing galaxy and it is good. Double Click has the infected feeling but a bit softer and it is the best track on this cd. Dark waters could have been good but the melody sucks. A.320 Project is a bit in the Atmos feeling and it is quite good too. Overall a 7/
Guest Acidhive
Ok all you non-believers out there.. Let me start my review by saying that this is a great compilation! And why some people still put AP down is beyond me, because they deliver a great track here... Ok, so we've heard all the Matrix samples by now, but listen beyond that. AP is back in their great style! And MFG have turned around to face a new, darker, deeper direction! And still they deliver great MUSIC... Yeah, read this, it says MUSIC! Ok. Enough with the bickering, let's continue my review. Track1: Great. T2: Nice melodic track in the newer Israeli mould. T3: One of the best tracks on this, this hits you in your face with great psychedelica... Blade Runner samples make a nice change from all those Matrix samples... T4: Great remix, this is longer and deeper than AP's original. T5: Sounds a lot like AP, this is not a bad track. T6: Great track, you can hear Erez produced this, it has a distinct Infected flavour. T7: Good, darker MFG track. T8: Itzik shows us he can do melodic as well... and this is good! T9: Passenger delivers a pounding track which tends to be more in the 'progressive' mould. This one rounds this comp off in style! A solid 8,5/10 here and I hope Trust In Trance continues in this flavour... Keep it coming ! This comp also proves Israeli Psytrance still keeps on kicking ass ... HARD!
Guest paxx
A classic compilation of the Israeli sound, and in my opinion, really excellent. I think the sound of AP and similar sounds like Santeria really define what the classic sound of goa was like. Sure, I listen to all the modern minimal, deep stuff and I appreciate it for the brilliant music it is, but it lacks the emotion of the Israeli morning sound! So, IMHO, great disc, 8.5/

Guest Le Lotus Bleu
It's probably one of the best comp from israel this year. best tracks:green house effect with staste of mind and remix of another world.also good stuff with Nothing is possible and Santeria-Koza Nostra.the 2 weakest tracks are from Anti gravity and Passenger. Rating:8/
seraph
Not that good compilation from TIT...Pretty dissapointing..I usually ADORE TIT compilations and albums but this one is definetely the worse...The quality lacks here, in melodical terms...only ASTRAL PROJECTION'S ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE is worth mentioning the whole CD...There are , beside that very good song some just good : GENETIC EYES,STATE OF MIND...rest is really dissapointing MFG/PASSENGER songs...HUH... 6/
