    Throughout my childhood, I was always looking for new & innovative music. I was massively into the Rave scene in the early 90s from 6 years old (!) and come 1995, I was discovering the likes of Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall and Faithless - Insomnia. However, it was one evening at the end of March when I happened to turn on Radio 1... I discovered Danny Rampling's Love Groove Dance Party.

    I've already done a 6 hour mix tribute to the greatest 100 house tracks played on the LGDP, but I said when I did it that I wanted to do another set of tributes to the Euro Mix - what made me absolutely fall in love with Dance Music.

    ID (1997) - HELP!!

    This track was played on Danny Rampling's Euro Mix in 1997 on Radio One between TIP - Mindblogger & Nervasystem - Decoder... Rampling said it was 'Deflo - Tio Mate' on Matsuri. Not only is it not that track (unless I'm deaf), it's not even a track on the same compilation!! Any ideas? I'll prob kick meself when I see what it is but good grief this is the definition of proper Psychedelic Goa!

    ...and no one mentioned "Baas Complex" :( I have 2 CDs of old material here from 1991 - 1993.

    Not meaning to brag, just indicating that indeed Goa music dates back to earlier than 1994... Ow God I love that sound.

    Great released. Absolutely chuffed that after 19 years of trying, finally got Mystery Machine - Psychedelic

    Concentration Camp released. It's not the most Goa / Psy track but it really has so many elements which are.

    Plus this now opens the door hopefully for the Dark Mix to get a release in the future as well as 'This Civilisation'

    which I'd love to get an HD copy of.

     

    Wizzy Noise is one that's been needing a proper release for years as well so really chuffed to get that too!

    Plus finally a nice copy of Ecens - Howl which was a fav vinyl track + Cosmosis.. wow!

    Amen is their worst album for me. Chaos is on the only track on there that did

    anything in terms of being next level. The rest I just didn't rate.

     

    Another World is quite underrated in terms of their stuff. Nilaya was lovely but the

    three stand outs were Visions of Nasca which is one of APs best ever tracks, Trance

    Dance which is also brilliant & Tryptomine Dream.

     

    Dancing Galaxy will always be the absolute no 1 AP album for me. Just pure quality

    all the way through.

     

    Also love The Astral Files as a very close second & T.I.T as well.

    Armin Van Buuren likes... OTT

    Armin became big during trance era, pushed it forwards(To somewhere at least) and what does he do now? House. Why? Because it's in. Pathetic. His opinions ain't worth shit. Ott and Sphongle are also like the easiest relatives to psy to chew through, really. Their music is very approachable by anyone, which is why they are so popular compared to many acts.

    err - no he doesn't. He still plays trance. Most of the stuff in the first hour of ASOT is very trousey and utter rubbbish but the 2nd hour is always brill.

     

    He dedicated ASOT 666 to Psy and other darker sides of trance as well.

     

    Armin is the only one out of the big DJs who has stayed true to his original sound.
