    Review:

This is another average Goa Head compilation. It has a few superb rracks, but

most tunes are average or even poor. The first track, "Astral Flight" by RA,

is one of the highlights of the first CD. It sounds like Astral Projection or

Man With No Name at their best - but even better! The tune is extremely

melodic and bright, with great dance floor potential. The bass drum is

pounding in an ordinary 4/4-beat pattern and the tune contains no progressive

elements at all. I still consider it to be one of the strongest tunes here. It

sounds exactly like Goatrance used to sound back in the good old days. No

surprises, but an uplifting tune with superb melodies. Some sounds seem to be

stolen from Enigma, though... =) The remix of Etnica's classic tune "Trip

Tonight" is another highlight. Nice samples and merry melodies. Perfect for

outdoor parties. Unfortunately, the remaining tracks of the first CD are a big

    disappointment. I normally

love minimalistic tunes, but these are so badly produced that I don't

understand how they ended up in a compilation at all. Nothing happens in

Zerotonine's boring tune "Pornostar", the sounds are way too harsh in

Authentik's "The Fifth Colour" and the last two tracks are also quite dull.

"The Vacuum" by Organic Noise (Ben Wierzoch from Planet B.E.N. and Jan Müller

from X-Dream) is a nice tune, but not as good as I expected, compared to other

tunes by the two band members. The Delta (Marcus Maichel from X-Dream) has

succeeded in creating a scary horror tune. A fat, rolling bass and majestic

percussion dominate the track. Sounds a bit like "The Fly" by Infected

Mushroom. Pretty similar to other tracks by The Delta. Dimension 5's melodic

tune "Transformation" is way too fast and cute for me. The second CD is a bit

more stabile as a whole than the first one. A simple bass drum is heard in the

beginning of "Helix" by Amphasis. The tune is quite progressive and contains a

few electric guitar riffs here and there. Some synth sweeps are used to varm

    you!

up. Decent track. Endora (Boris Blenn and DJ Sangeet) also use a hard bass drum

in their track, but don't succeed as well as Amphasis. An average Progressive

Techno tune. The MOS tune "Clouds" is a bit softer, but still progressive and

dark. Nice. Our rising talent S-Range from Kiruna

in the northern part of Sweden has recently become one of my favourite artists.

His track "Serial Overtypes" (featured on the compilation "Destination Goa

10") is one of the best tracks I've ever heard. His debut album "2001" has

just been released. I've got to lay my hands on it! Anyway, back to the

review... "Black Lotus" continues in the same style as "Serial Overtypes".

Dark vibes and a killer groove. Another Scandotrance masterpiece! I'm proud of

being Swedish! =) "Es Ist Voller Sterne" is quite a nice tune, but nothing

above the ordinary. Electric guitars are used for the melodic lead in Marco

Menichelli's "Oddball-Rally". Normally, I don't think you should use electric

guitars in Psytrance, but it sounds nice in this tune. The track is a bit too

funky, happy and groovy in some parts, which kind of ruins it. "Nüt" by Midi

Miliz is a superb tune with a modern vibe. Cool vocal effects. The percussion

and the monotonous bass melody work terrific in this tune. Thumbs up! Lan!

    do's "Dragonboat" and Psychonaut's semi-chill track "Spiritwalker" aren't all

that great. The final impression is that this compilation is average. A few

great tunes, but the remaning tunes are average or bad. It's probably meant to

be purchased by Progressive Trance or Psychedelic Techno freaks. Melodic

Psytrance lovers shouldn't go near this one! =) I really don't recommend you

to buy this one. You can find the good tracks on this compilation elsewhere.

Highlights are the tunes by RA, Etnica, Amphasis, S-Range and Midi Miliz.

  2. "One O'Seven" is beautiful, containing a superb guitar melody. "Little

Homesick" and "Homesick Blue" are okay, but I'm not sure about the rest... The

other tracks are a bit too fast - sounds like a mixture of Techno/House and

Trance vibes... It doesn't really contain the same Chill/Dub feeling as "One

    O'Seven" does... Average album.

  3. Yep, S-Range's "Serial Overtypes" is definitely the winner here... Dark,

progressive and building all the time... A fucking masterpiece! The Logic

Bomb/Hux Flux trax are superb as well. MFG's "Welcome To The Edge" is also

great. Some of the Passenger sound is heard, mixed with both old and fresh

influences. There are many bad tunes here. Astral Projection, MWNN and

Chi-A.D. have made no progress at all - it still sounds like 1995 or

something. Quirk delivers a funky, dark tune with tribal percussion, but it

doesn't go anywhere... "Channel 59" isn't as terrific as many of the reviews

in the "EPs/Singles" section say. Still good, though... Overall, I'm actually

a bit disappointed, because this compilation isn't even close to the quality

of the first five Destination Goa chapters, even though there are a few

    highlights. Average compilation.

  4. The first CD sucks - way too monotonous and boring! The second disc, however,

is terrific! My favourite tunes are "The Last Block" by GMS, "Bandicoot On The

Run" by Growling Mad Synchro, "Freak" by X-Dream, "Mind Merge" by Darshan and

"Full Mental Jackpot" by Crop Circles. This compilation is professionally

mixed and the tracks in the second CD are of high quality. Dark, pumping and

progressive party music for messed up minds! Unfortunately, the first CD kind

    of ruins it... :(

  5. "Be On Go" is the only decent track here... I listened to "Equator" in a record

store yesterday and I must say it isn't my piece of cake. Disgusting choice of

sounds and annoying vocals... I like the old Etnica sound better... Yuk!

  6. I used to hate it, but nowadays I kind of like it. The best tracks are "Anno

Domini", "Shadow Spirit", "Myopic Utopia" and "Moonart". Calm beat, ethnic

melodies and a dreamy atmosphere. Not perfect, but still good.

  7. One of the best albums ever made. Fat, juicy bass lines and harsh, electronic

sound FX spinning from left to right and back again. Hard to understand in the

beginning, but nowadays I love it. Every track is top quality stuff. My

favourites are "Psychomachine", "Electromagnetic", "Telegram" and "Freak".

This will be an infinite classic.

  8. Very quirky 303 sounds. Melodic, but still experimental. Hard to explain. Some

Ambient/Dub influences, but mainly hard, kicking Psytrance. All tracks are

special and original, which makes it hard to pick out a favourite... But

"Mystic Linguistic", "Lofi Scifi" and (of course) "Ping" are terrific. Some of

you might not like it. It takes an open mind to appreciate this release.

  9. Great compilation. "Armageddon Dub" is the best tune, but all tracks are top

quality creations. The only thing that disturbs me, is that the sixth track

doesn't fit into this compilation. It sounds like a mixture of Chemical

Brothers and FSOL's sound in their album "ISDN". Altogether, a worthy

    investment.

  10. Terrific! The Hux Flux album "Cryptic Crunch" wasn't my piece of cake, but THIS

is something totally different!! The raw Hux Flux sound is gone and this

release is much more mellow - both production, cover art and melodic

creativity are far better! ;) The psychedelic, dark vibes and the fat,

monotonous bass lines are still vital to the tracks, but "Headware" contains

multiple layers of beautiful melodies. I have no favourite tracks, 'cause

they're all superb! The Logic Bomb sound is somewhat similar to the early

Infected sound, mixed up with some insane scandosounds... Wicked!

  11. Infinite groove! I normally don't like the Koxbox/Psychopod style, but "Go Fly

A Kite" is something totally different from what they normally produce... A

killer track! Other superb tracks are #2, 7, 8 and 10. The tunes by Sean

Williams are pure masterpieces, as always... "Electric Monk" contains some

beautiful guitar lines... Great work, Sean! The last track is an excerpt of

the tune "Under Mount Kailash" by Process (taken from "The Mystery Of The Yeti

Part 2"). The tune by Voodoo People is another crazy creation. Great

    compilation... Buy it now!

  12. It keeps getting better and better every single time I listen to it. Sometimes

it's a bit too messy and I still think it lacks some structure, but I tend to

enjoy the chaotic madness more and more. I guess the Logic Bomb album made me

understand the crazy, unmelodic patterns better and to appreciate the harsh,

metallic sounds in this album even more. I still don't think it's a great

album, but it sure as hell makes more sense now than the first time I listened

to it. "Cryptic Crunch" is a good example of what Scandosounds are all about.

To all Israeli freaks - "Duck and cover!!?!"... ;)

  13. All tracks are beautiful trips through an ambient atmosphere, full of yetis and

shamans... ;) Process opens up with a soft and original tune. Perfect drum

loops and the melody in the end, with acoustic guitars and Raja Ram playing

the flute, is sooo soothing. "The Herb Garden" by Simon Posford sounds exactly

like the Shpongle album, which is good... It's the best track here. The Total

Eclipse track is also nice. I didn't like their ambient style in the "Violent

Relaxation" album, but this is different. The metallic percussion in Doof's

"High On Mount Kailash" is kind of cool, although the track is a bit too

minimalistic in the beginning. If you enjoyed the Shpongle album, then you're

going to worship this one... Raja Ram's flutes work well as always. Now I'd

really like to lay my hands on "The Mystery Of The Yeti Part 1"...

  14. Not as good as I expected. The tracks start quite minimalistic, with no

melodies and just funky, metallic beats for like five minutes. Then, in the

end, you will hear a great melody for like twenty seconds and the track

suddenly ends. You see the problem? The best track is "Kreak", followed by

"Cat On Mushroom", "Space Cats" and "Beam Me Up". I'm a bit disappointed. I

can't help it. "Funky" is a copy of Astral Projection's "Dancing Galaxy".

    Fucking weak...
