  1. he he... it's nu-jazz or lounge or even french house if you want ... it's not at all psychedelic . but extremely smooth and stylish :-) Merv Peppler is goooood ...
  2. I like his new release but it isn't his best work. the female vocals are several times hard to digest. 'gray over gray' is hilarious... horrible ,and 'Tongue In Chic' is well... i dunno , it could be Alanis Morisette ...whatever (skip) but 'Not In My Name' is a real masterpiece (de vocals sound similar to the ones Ott used in 'Splitting An Atom' truly amazing) Some tracks are way to chaotic and over emotional. the coverart is very fresh.
  3. Atmos - 2nd Brigade Son Kite - Colours X-dream - We Interface Freq - Strange Attractors Kooler - Open Reloaded A Token To Thrill Saikopod - Phuture Remixes 12" Electric Tease - Tear It Up Ryukyu Underground - Saragaki (Quivver remix) Filur - Kiwi Mint Pilot Thomas Penton & The Funky Badgers - Groove Control Hi-fi Companions - Swingers In Paradise Abakus - That Much Closer To the Sun Tycho - Sunrise Projector wicked stuff :-)

    Antix - Lull

Antix - Lull Artist: Antix Title: Lull Label: Iboga Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. 7'39" Darko 02. 9'59" Hit The Frog N Toad 03. 9'53" Blood 04. 8'15" Chase 05. 7'26" Capella 06. 8'46" Free As We Are 07. 8'10" On The Rock 08. 7'36" Slave To Dose Review: Well ... here it is . the fresh breeze through psytrance . Iboga strikes just another time , after the amazing 'symphony' album by Mikael and Jeppe ... this time Barton and Hayden Strom from NZ are the producers. they deliver us smooth vibrating hypnotising non-agressive psytrance .. maybe for the soft people or the low bpm dancing lovers but no doubt a true masterpiece , astonishing ... When Antix played live @ Voov this year their sound really thouched me very emotional, very stranged yet simply beautiful ...this album gives me that particular feeling , but if you don't listen careful enough , you might not experience the joy I had . all tracks are impressive , but if I would choose my favourites I would say 2,3,4!(amazing stereo),5!!(smooth sounds),6!(mystical uplifter)... well , another descripting would be that it is sort of mixture of Atmos-Ticon-Vibrasphere coming from the other side of the world . highly recommended . 9/10 try to listen with headphones too ;-)

    Ticon - Aero

no variation ??? man this album has lots of different touches and styles ... this is the BEST release of 2003 so far . you can only get into a real trance when dancing , moving on repetitive rhythems ofcourse with a clear mind. psytrance is all about repetition , loops , melodies that are put in segments repeating for several times ... Ticon brings us a project that is based on sound quality and groovy psytrance ... these guys really have talent . next time Traveller if you put a review give a reasonable opinion because your post is just lame . a waste of time .
  6. Nice , very nice ... Subsonic is a real masterpiece , ofcourse not accessible for every psytrance freak like Freak51 mentioned . This is organic minimal psy ... but still very unique and full of crazy ideas .. the way Daniel Vernunft creates tracks using samples by filtering them into wacko sounding loops is quite astonishing ... it's the kind of trance that provides the listener with abstract emotions , very deep and tribal . like you're dancing through a trippy futuristic jungle full of crazy sounding animals . My favourite tracks in here are 1(!),2,3,6 and 9 ... I love this music 8.5/10

    V/A - Fx

a quality Iboga release ... this time experimenting with different sounds and styles all flavoured with the subtle trippy progressive taste ... highly recommended ofcourse . My favourite are 4 (dreamy powerfull progressive trance with a massive atmosphere) and 6 (a deep tribal hypnotic smasher).. the rest is certainly not bad at all , every track is GOOD and finished . If you're addicted listening to minimal psychoactive rhythems . FX is the one you should add in your psytrance collection . get it now :-) 9/10

    Ticon - Aero

Ticon - Aero Artist: Ticon Title: Aero Label: Digital Structures Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. Dont Tell Me I Sing Like A Robot 02. Waiting For The Knights 03. Elt 04. Some Simple Sounds 05. Vox Pabiscum 06. Groovin The Bed 07. It Breaz My Heart 08. Back To Basic 09. Ghost In The Machinery 10. Bonanza 11. Snooze Da Booze Review: ... Ticon produced an incredible great sounding album to get you in the wright mood .Not really the tribal techno psytrance we're used hearing from them , no .. this time it's trance-adelic , subtle with funny breaks and surprising synthlines . this project is not boring at all , finished for 100% . including the beautiful graphic skills done by Son Kite's member Marcus ... standout tracks are "Don't Tell Me I Sing Like A Robot" with an smooth build-up and lots of crazy breaks . also "Waiting For The Knights " , played at many many parties and still is one of my favourite track for the moment ... "Some Simple Sounds" has this electro sounding loops , not full-on psy but no doubt dance-friendly . "Groovin The Bed" with a great clear funky trance bassline makes it awesome , so fresh .. that track really makes me happy :-) ... "Back To Basic" is more the typical Ticon sound with a deep groove and hypnotic effects njammy ! .. the last track is also very catchy with special unexpected touches ... with the variety of different sounds Ticon showed us once again that there are no bounderies ... just new areas that have to be explored ... the other tracks are all above average ... In one word - progressive ... 9/10 tanks you Fredrick and Filip for the psytrance . and thanks MPDQX for releasing their creations .
  9. subtle minimalism .. phoney orphants and bigwigs are standouts , the rest is good too ... I really like this stuff , but now that Plastik Park decided to stop releasing for a while ... it's hard to satisfy my addiction completely . the compilation gets a solid 9/10 just to mention I love PP/Sunset recordings ... psy bye
  10. nice review Shahar ... I think this release is one of the best ZMA releases (together with Morphem - Monitoring) Session 1 is a mixture of different grooves and sounds , in a progressive way orcourse ... stand out track was Sun Control Spieces - Faith In Chaos .. heared it at a party and it totally overwhelmed me , what a stomper .. my favourite tracks are 1,3!,4,7 and 8 . design is pretty unique to .this compilation is a nice and innovative concept .. I give it 8,5/10

    Faktor D - Licked

Faktor D - Licked Artist: Faktor D Title: Licked Label: Flow Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. Johnnys Marocco Trip 02. D Manufactured 03. Ventil 04. Sardine 05. Multi Culti 06. Waste Coast 07. Enough Is Enough 08. Sand Dessert Review: New upcoming talent from Portugal deliver us funky minimal psytrance ... extremely great for dancing , some tracks contain one of the most groovy basslines I've ever heared ... Faktor D sure sounds fresh ... didn't realy know what to expect from these guys because they didn't release many tracks so this sure is a nice surprice . starts with #1 a downtempo track to get you in the wright mood ... #2 is very pumping and nice percussion ... nice flow in here . #3 has a jazzy mood and is very smooth ... #4 man what a funky bassline in here , very catchy ..#5 a bit mediocre but not bad at all .. #6 this one is more tribal .. and very kickin' .... but here it comes #7 one of the greatest funky basslines ever made ... powerfull , fresh , clear production and dance-friendly like hell !!! a must !!! #8 last one is chill-out , not bad ... overall this is wicked . coverart by Loets is nice too but not his best work imo ... my favourites are 2,3,4(!),6,7(!) and I give this project a solid 8/10 magnifico :-)

    S-range - Space

2001 was much deeper , more subtle ... Space 'flashes' a bit to much in some parts , sounds like some mediocre psytrance sometimes . can't really compare Space to Electric Roundabout which was much better and wasn't that full-on ... but this doesn't mean I don't like this cd , no no ... some tracks realy are masterpieces like "the one" and "ilha bela" , a very smooth trance-house hybrid full of emotions and a nice groove ... I don't like Space , ugly melody in the end . same for Freak Out ... overall the production qualty is clear and coverart is fresh too , but a bit more focused on commercial progressive trance imo ... my favourites are 2,4,6(!) and 7 ... well let's say , I give it a 7/10 just like Goblim.
  13. V/A - Irresistible Meltdown 2 Artist: Various Title: Irresistible Meltdown 2 Label: Plusquam Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. Haldolium : What's Up 02. Sly Finn And D Nox : Nowhere 03. Bitmonx : Blindspot 04. Buzz : Breath It 05. Aurikular : Bucketgroover 06. Shaman : Battle Of The Tom Tom 07. Neo Logic : Walla 08. Dusk Rider And H : Research Review: Mapusa Mapusa .. one of my favourite dj's has selected a few incredibly awesome sounding tracks for our pleasure ... and they are GROOVY !!!!!! Irresistible Meltdown Vol. 2 is fantastic , if you are a groove addict , don't look further .this will spoil you .... #1 this one is very smooth , nice opener ... not at all in the H2 style but a bit more housy "Emou" -like , which is ofcourse good enough .... #2 now the real stuff starts with a nice clean pumping shaker , what a catchy groove done by Sly Flynn & D Nox. #3 great percussion in here , quality progressive psytrance and extremely dance-friendly ... #4 BUZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!! realy guys/girls ... you should BREATH IT goooood because this is fresh , innovative .. it's incredible ... I thought 'Do It' on Progression was top notch but this is over the top ... jazzy jungle trance dance experience . I want to hear a full album of Sebastian Plehn ... this guy is talented for sure .best track 10/10 mmm mm m... #5 different , at first listen it sounded a bit abstract , now I think it's a masterpiece ... subtle positioning like we're used to from Auricular ... Bucketgroover is just perfect :-) #6 organic vibes surrounded by hypnotic rhythems ... good job Shaman ! impressive ... #7 not my favourite style but sure there are some nice ideas in here ..I liked the Echotek - Duel track on Motion Generator more. #8 Aircrash Bureau is now Dusk Rider & H ... expect some massive vibrating sounds on top of a groovelicious bassline ... woooooooo . deep psycho trance-house ... overall a great release , real Plusquam quality . 9/10 get this !
  14. Steve Good is back with another crispy album after his historical "Continuum" , but now with something else ... "Transparent" is special ... catchy and has fresh new crystal clear sounds not many artist are able to produce ... he's like the master of filtering percussions .... and it sure effects my brain . I like it ;-) .. thanks Plusquam . the coverart is nice too , Loets is realy a talented graphic artist . my favourites are 1,3,5,6 and 8 ... score : 8/10 .. check it out
  15. fresh release .. some track sound a bit lame (the use in samples destroys a few trax - like in "Shut Up" ) I realy like those crispy sound i'm used to hear from Morphem/Segment .. very clear production and nice grooves . my favourites are 1,2,3 and 8 . overall It get's from me a smooth 8/10 ..
