Recommended Posts

Dance N Dust Records  proud to present:

Sarolta Monspart - Turning water into Funk (album)

after long break we are back!!!

Sarolta Monspart, solo musical project driven by former

punk and new wave musician Anders Palmqvist,

based in the deep forests of Sweden.

Dropping out of the band thing in the late 80’s and hooking up with

the new music technology that was coming along at the time.

Epic dance experiences from the beaches and jungles of

Koh Pha-Ngan and Goa in the early 90’s made new musical directions

easy to choose from there on.

Eclectic ambitions to catch bits and pieces from many kinds of

dance music and squeeze them into the fluoro costume of evolving

trance is on the menu.

Turning water into Funk is a compilation of tracks produced in

the last twelve years.

  • 2 weeks later...

digital format only for now as we see the cd market is dead ): there is no point to spend so much money and energy and not cover even the expenses , but if u like the music u can get a copy online,

If you do limited prints its not so dead... Selling 300 cds is doable normally if you have a public :)

yeah 300 copies should be an ok number, and you can always send some around for promotion and actually sell around 100, with that you should cover pressing costs and some, think about it :)

Yeah, listen to those guys - they know what they're talking about.

I'd buy it on CD :)

i see what happens with my compilation v/a Scandi 90's part 1 and  part 2  I did for other label 2 years ago, selling was not good at all, this was  and still 2 great albums but .... no market,

Well, we went through this in few topics already, but:

- a lot of us are CD/vinyl collectors, so we like to have something tangible for our money,

- if I buy something digital, I prefer to do it in a place that allows me to build a collection, download and stream the music - Bandcamp & Beatport allow that,

- if there's option to get digital + physical, that's the one I choose and Bandcamp is unparalleled for that,

- if I wanted to buy JUST digital, I'd probably stick to something like Google Play Store, which is usually much cheaper and there's small risk it will vanish some time in the future along with my collection.

TLDR: Bandcamp is the best of both worlds - you usually get the CD + possibility to collect, stream & download files.

BTW, I got both Scandi '90 comps, so there's that :P

thank you friend

the album will be released on the 02.02.2017 in all other online shops, till that date its beatport exclusive  ..

im working now on the bandcamp shop , i hope in the next 2 weeks it will be online as well there.

Thanks, that great!

Just listened to it on YouTube and it's really something unusual, but in a very positive way. A lot of people hate 'funk' in their goa/psy, but I love it. Great release :)
