Ok Ok, I am a psynews addict..I was suppose to be offline but all these ideas of new topics come rolling in my mind. And don't worry..I will be gone soon when my new school starts in a week. But before that I am interested to know how you ppl take care of your physical condition.

For me these activities are wanted and wished for:

-planking: full exercise and easy to do even traveling

- high speed walking in a hilly surroundings: not hurting the knees but still providing full aerobic set

- bicycling: both of the above benefits excluding traveling

For Me?

15 minute warm up on my chuck Norris gym. Into anywhere from 7 to 30, 3 minute rounds.

After that treadmill on constant incline. 5 miles. Chuck Norris stretcher.

Spar and mitt work as needed.

I've recently joined the gym. After not exercising for two or more years I was out if shape and mix that with a demanding job and looking after a little one and sleeping only 4 or 5 hours a night I was becoming something of a wreck.

I've started going three times a week after work, stretching for 20 minutes aerobic exercise for 40 minutes, anaerobic for 40 minutes and another 20 minutes stretching. I've only been at it a couple of weeks so obviously I've not lost any weight but almost instantly I felt better. It's also the only time I truly get to myself and I think that's helped mentally.

Football (soccer) once a week or so. That's about it.

Soccer is cool as a hobby. In Finland it is becoming increasingly popular among young women to play football just for fun :)

I like swimming. I work out a few times a week mainly to strengthen my upper body, especially my back (which is fragile af).

I envy you. I wish I could, too because swimming is so great as causing no sports injuries. But I don't like cold, I don't like wet and above all I don't like our swimming halls because ppl nowadays cannot behave: they piss in the water and especially immigrants don't know how to obey sauna rules: they go to sauna with a swimming suit on and then don't wash themselves and that's how the pool water becomes dirty, haha.

What is this!

Last time I checked this place was full of psyheads!

Fav exercise - Dancing :D

Ok fine, it's running.

Would be interesting to know how many ppl here don't like dancing in psy/goa parties ;)

Hello Abasio!

Yes, hi Abasio. I noticed you haven't been active lately. Welcome back :)

Funny you post this picture Anu, I was talking about it on another forum. Two years ago my wife introduced me to it and we could hold for 3 minutes, then I managed to hold 3m30 after two weeks of practice but it was very tough (doing it on carpet helps too). Will try again with a goal of 5 minutes to achieve in 1 month time (by going progressively).

For the record, world best performance was achieved a few months ago, 8 hours and 1 minute (yeah sounds insane I know, former record was 5 hours 50 minutes).

I'm a Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor for adults (part-time, only twice a week at a small local Martial arts gym). My usual training regiment is:

Twice a week I run for about 1 to 1.30 hours at the track and then I do interval sprints along with crunches, pull ups, push ups and other calisthenic (without weights) exercises

Twice a week I lift weights: I have 2 types of training: One is your typical power lifter/Olympic weight lifter training, very few exercises, very few sets with very heavy weights (this is for raw brutal strength development). The other is anaerobic endurance training, it's a bit like cross fit but more focused towards grappling and wrestling. If I feel like I have a lot of energy I do the crossfit style, if I feel lazy I do the heavy weights

Twice a week I grapple at the gym.

During the summer I swap the running for swimming.

During August I was very lazy and hardly trained. Now I'm getting back on track and as soon as I move to my new house I intend to do the aerobic training (running) everyday before work and join a competitive MMA gym that's about 30km from here. I don't intend to fight in MMA but I miss the times that I used to train with the savages at one of the biggest MMA gyms in Athens (Gracie Barra Athens, Draculino team). It helps that at both my current and next house I have my own fully equipped gym.

Fav exercise - Dancing :D

fav exercise and only exercise.

physical activity (except dancing to electronic music) is not only uncomfortable but also repetitive and boring. i have better things to do with my time.

if you want to give me an exercise i'll do voluntarily, it will have to involve mathematics instead of physical activity :)

Count me in, I can do 90 seconds as of now(just gave it a try). Considering that I've not had any food since last 20 hours and the amount of work i've been doing, its ok I guess. 24th October 5 minutes of plank, here I come.

Let's do it together bro :D

I start at day 9 I guess for a slow progress, we shall see!

PS: the guy on the picture is holding on his fingers, right position should be the one posted by Anu a few posts above.

@Anu you can do much better than 28 seconds, even 60 should be fine after a few days of practice :)

Yep, the right position is extremely important.

No I can't..28 seconds-32 seconds, depends, but yeah, I'll improve.

What disturbes me is Swedish national anthem that plays in my head always when I plank. Too much World cup watching..

Beware: do the planking slowly forwarding http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3030983/The-ultra-competitive-exercise-fad-ruin-health-called-planking-suddenly-sweeping-gyms-Pilates-classes.html

I just hurt my right arm, I don't know if my triceps brachii got pulled but now I have a pain on my right wrist; I think it is from planking too eagerly ;)
