Twilight Psy

Recommended Posts

Anyone here into twilight psy like Bom Shanka Music, Looney Moon,, Peak, Sangoma?

I am so fuckin addicted to it this year, even dropped couple DJ sets here and there. Love it!

So different from Goa Trance but again same complexity and goa trancers love it, they jump like they do on goa trance :)

Some of my favorites:

The distinctions between some "styles" are a bit ludicrous. I guess since MFG was making goa trance, Chi-A.D., Darshan, Green nuns of the revolution should not belong to the very same category since they sound very different.

On topic: I really like this kind of psy. Find it relaxing. I just wish there was a melody once in a while but enjoy it regardless.

Not really. Among other differences Twilight is melodic, while the style Imba posted is not.

As far as I know this style doesn't have an official name yet, but I'm sure most ppl call it UK Psytrance or UK Full On. Some labels even use the forest term.

Anyway to stay on topic Fobi is a great artist:

and this great track by (most of the times boring) Full Face:

the samples posted by imba sound way too darkpsy-influenced to me to be uk psytrance (thus making it twilight imho).

i'd say typical uk psytrance is something like this:

fullon that lacks melodies, is fully effect driven but doesn't sound like darkpsy at all.

That's true yeah. On the other hand many compilations have tracks of both styles. They start with more full on-ish tracks and end with almost hi-tech.
Plus like I said this style is still unnamed. I personally call it Doof style. :D

BTW another artist that Imba will enjoy. Caveman
