Psytrance/Normal trance crossovers

Recommended Posts

Guys, I need you again :)

This time I want tracks combining the elements of both genres - prytrance sounds, FX, basslines, acid and big trancey melodies, supersaw arpeggios, pads, you know.

Like these

The cheese factor doesn't matter, I'm tired of "serious" stuff, anything melodic, euphoric, dreamy, trancey will do.

Sometime ago i discovered this one:

Psyprog + vocal trance crossover, i realy really love this track!

Here one more from legend Yahel, pure trance:

Trance with goaish vibe:

Check Perfecto Records recent releses, Paul Oakenfold start forcing that goa/psy vibe again, good crossovers to be found there :)

Thanks mates!

"Surrounded" - yes, this is basically what I was looking for. "Fatality" is also nice, don't feel much of psy/goa in it, but it reminds me of good old hardtrance, like it was in mid 00's, good stuff.

This Burning Up track - I never thought AP ever did such things, must be something very early of them? It sounds like proto-uplifting trance, late 90's PvD style or something, or like a Reason 2 demosong, no psy or goa elements in it.

Shadows - well I said it myself that the cheese factor doesn't matter, but it does anyway to some extent ;)

And two alternatives

Goa meets Trance. Amazing track!

This one is a bit different, cause it's 100% psychedelic but with trance melodies. I love it.

Check out also Sonic Elysium-Illusions and California Sunshine-Summer '89 (Passenger remix). I can't find videos.

The digital blonde - Hydro is such a fantastic track!

Green sky by California sunshine (nice final melody)

A very obscure track I had in VA - Travelling 4 - Annewa World in your eyes

Jaia (feat. Tajmahal) - Rebirth is pretty nice too.

A couple more. First some old school ones, propable not what you're looking for, but give it a try.

The last two are nice, though somewhat dated. I'm mostly looking for tracks with more modern production. Btw, does anybody know where the vocal sample in "De Profundis" may come from. I'm sure I've heard it in at least two other tracks.

i've seen california sunshine, but not this track (imho the one closes to normal trance and one of their best, even though it sounds dated)

this one is also pretty close to normal trance.

in the other direction john 00 fleming has numerous tracks that blur the boundaries.

the same is true for christopher lawrence, but on the psy side it sounds more like progressive than goa.

Yeah, I love 00 Fleming, his latest album is pretty much amazing. I started to follow Joof Mantra, they consistenlty release trancey but not very cheesy stuff like that. I also have this Ra's album and like it, one of the rare goa albums which I can listen through in one go and it doesn't bore me.

California Sunshine is nice but sounds pretty dated indeed.

  • 2 weeks later...

i'm just listening to john 00 fleming's new album alter ego. does anyone else think that he crossed over from making trance with psy influences to making progressive with goa influences? style-wise it's not too different from ovnimoon's latest album. i wouldn't classify any of those tracks as normal trance.

I was going to recommend JOOF as well, not so much with individual songs as with his output as a whole. Granted he also does a decent amount of deep/techno stuff, but as far as his trance material he tends to straddle both worlds.

I agree with Padmapani though, he's really let his goa "background" (ancient history by this point) shine through in the last two years.
