panoptes by panoptes huh? nice groove to it.

the track sounds like a sunday afternoon, its sunny out still, the BBQ is left going but everyone is full allready.

People be walking in and out, they be smoking on something, drinking on something, but everyone has a smile on their face, noone is sad.

This track couldve hit me at any night but it happened tonight, you posted it tonight, i didnt come on your computer and posted it, and i didnt make it, you did, and i love it,

I wanna download it, I wanna have it play in my speakers in the morning!

this is beatuiful man..... Wow....

I just wanna know the process that occured before this track was made.

How did you get the ideas, where did they come from, where did you go for samples, why did you go there and not here, etc.

I wanna know it all cause this track, at this very moment, is just 100% beauty man....

Ive listened to it 5 times now, so that Im sure and not just writing garbage that I dont mean.

I did NOT excpect to hear this at psynews tonight, thats for sure...

Straight summer sunday afternoon..... Wow.. what a freaking marvel this one...

and if you think im just jokes im not, mean every word.

although i keep hearing it in my left ear and its annoying please fix the panning and reupload man

TY for kind words sir. The drums are the yocto kit we've been chatting about in that other thread ;)

The elements with delay that don't have 8bit distortion are from my modular box. The 8bit distorted elements are all from the Elektron A4 running through a free bit degradation software by soundhack(Tom Erbe). Tom Erbe also co-created the reverb unit which the drums are running through aka Erbe-Verb.

Song was pre-programmed and sequenced and recorded live with all changed done manually by myself

no sir i didnt mean what went into the actual production. that much i couldve guessed.

i was talking about your brainchild, the sound, the thing that came out of you.

what went into THAT thing.

and please fix the panning, and re upload cus I really really want this. Its not a gag or anything, its seriously that good and its just a coincidence that you uploaded it on the very night i treated psynews like my own personal rubber room.

Emergence and stratification

I enter the studio. Breaking away from the stresses of the world, particularly my current job hunt.

I was inspired by this tune:

and some of disasterpiece's music(guy who did music for FEZ). Also noticed I hadn't used bit degradation for a while so I decided to look up some free software to do so. I wanted to use this drum pattern I programmed into my yocto with the alternating snare and clap. More sober than usual, maybe a couple beers in me and I've been off the cannabis for weeks. Programmed a nice sine sequence with 9 triggers per measure so the 16 step sequence shuffles one extra and doesn't start in the same location for several measures. Got most of it done in one evening and recorded it the following morning. Wasn't particularly thinking or feeling anything. Mainly just doodling with my toys and once in a while a nice little gem emerges.

Well the drums and non-bitcrushed elements are mono for good considering they were running through my modular but the bitcrushed elements could be done. I still have the sequences saved on my Analog 4, issue is I was clocking off the yocto which might be a little tricky to get that exact tempo again considering there is no screen / bpm indicator.

i heard the 12 bit style no need to mention it, but i would love for you to upload the real version, seriously.. please man, its a buitful piece of work, whats taking so long?

I love it - dont you want me to love it and enjoy it? do you have better things to do?

if so, then teach me.

what is better than giving someone some sonic pleasure, say so , teach it to me, cause i wanna learn so i can teach it on, on my bros and sons

whats more important than the listener, and why is it so?

I challenge you to answer me honestly. Cause I have your music. I have your mind in a headlock. Tell me and ill let go.

amazing! that first one, 1:31:16, wow.

soo good. truly intelligent and mature sound. every key and note feels like they got a story to tell.

as a producer myself; it sounds like you use a MPC and an old AKAI sampler, but I wouldnt be surprised if its just software, but it certainly have a hardware feel to it.

as a music fan, it just sounds great.

thanks haha. I've been at it for a while and it is slowly starting to pay off...I truly appreciate the complements though :) I'm using the internal sampling capabilities of the Analogue Rytm along with its filters etc.

Also ...Here is a new tune https://soundcloud.com/panoptes/21016a

the fact that you use software makes me even more impressed.

that new one was wonderful too! alot of aes dana influence in the bassline, and i like it alot!

also love the way you mix your percussions to sound like they are from a 808 and 909.

it is indeed obvious that you didnt just start making music yesterday.

really refreshing sound and ive never heard anything sound like this before, that fact alone is big enough to spark interest - but the fact that you are incredibly talented and should have a record deal makes it over the top.

im just a bit angry at psynews for not appreciating this as i am :)

1:31 is a complete winner though. Just wow!

definetely suitable for a release and a full lenght album in this style man.

pursue it cause you will get it!
