This is completely true, it is a nightmare for a small label to hope to get its music pressed because majors order tens of thousands of vinyl and pay it all upfront, as they know they will make big bucks on the sales (as they press famous/popular artists & commercial music).

When I wanted to press etnica I paid (in full and in advance) and then I was made to wait 4 months to finally get my records pressed..

So yes, it is like impossible to do that for small labels.

Finally a lot of vinyl lovers must know that modern presses & reissues are nothing like the vinyl pressed in the past.

The mastering was made ad hoc for the releases, and music was taken by original sources, like original recording sessions and whatnot.

Nowadays SO many plants just take the music off a cd and make the platter to press the record, with no sound processing for the vinyl groove.
