This is the 2nd compilation released by the Ektoplazm label, the first being Organic Circuitry back in 2008. You've got your Ekto regulars as well as a few newcomers. Couple things... One, Ektoplazm does a great service for the psychedelic community in releasing tons of free, legal, quality music. I think we can all agree that the scene would surely suffer without his efforts. Second, this is a pretty interesting compilation. There are a multitude of styles which should appeal to many listeners. And I think that's it's strength and weakness. While the tracks were entertaining none of them were outstanding or particularly memorable. Personally I found the first four tracks rather unremarkable and it kind of put me off listening to this compilation. It was mentioned that the album would start with "humble beginnings", but just couldn't get into it, you know? The sound quality however is excellent as usual. Amygdala and Phobium were my favorites.
