Atmospheric DNB thread

Quite an essential this one

I listen to a hefty amount of DnB but I lean toward the more agressive and melodic types. I don't dislike the calmer stuff but I feel like the genre is at it's finest with power and atmosphere. Still, I've naturally accumulated slower stuff. I mostly find my stuff on di.fm dnb and liquid dnb channels, it's usually pretty consistent with the quality.

Good stuff in here, Aural Imbalance is really cool. Have this http://www.discogs.com/Aural-Imbalance-Proximity-Alert-Astral-Forest/release/9747 record and liking it. Would get more from AI if I had the luck of finding the records.

Circles from Adam F, I like... but might not be everyones cup of atmospheric DnB, pretty busy percussion but the vibe is really chill

Oh, you have to get a listen to T-Raenon.

I just found Bungle and Electrosoul System! Good shit!

Wow, those two are excellent, thanks for sharing! :) I'll have to investigate further. This type of D'n'B is definitely among my favourite genres of electronic music. Some essentials have already been mentioned, most notably the "Logical Progression" compilation, Photek and Swedish producer Seba. The latter is surprisingly prolific, and there's hardly any weak material from him. Both his albums are great, but totally unavailable on CD, it seems - if anybody could tell me where to hunt down a copy, I'd be more than grateful! I believe, however, that "Identity" wasn't even released on CD to begin with. His collaboration album with Paradox, "Beats Me", is also good and surprisingly dark. Then, there's the compilation "Producer 06" - the only Seba release I actually own. And of course, he has released countless singles... Here's another of my favourite tracks of his and a textbook of example just how beautiful and atmospheric D'n'B can be:

Another project worth checking out is Source Direct, especially this track:

Some of Goldie's old material can be stunningly atmospheric, too:

Here is my take on atmo d&b, forging in some trancy elements.

This project is me & ban jhankri (also a psynews member). We 're currently putting together a Koan remix in this style, it should come out early next year.

We also had this one released in Ultimae a couple of years back. It starts like a half-step atmo piece and then turns into a proper d&b tune.

Both tracks are awesome. You guys need to do more :)

Thanks Cybernetika!

As I said, we are currently in the mixing stages of a Koan remix and we had a Juno Reactor remix as well, some months ago. Not strictly atmo d&b, but more inspired by ASC's Auxiliary label, half-time beats on 170BPM.

Also, you can check this solo remix of mine, as Spinnet. This is typical atmo d&b through and through

Is anyone else seeing a shitload of unwanted newlines in this thread?

e: No, actually I'm seeing gaps where there should be videos. Not sure what's up with that.

I'm using chrome. On the right side of the address bar there is a shield icon...if you press it, it says "load unsafe script" if you do it then every video loads...
