Do you have the TEGMA - Funky Mirror 12"?

I just got this 12", and I think the pressing has some major problems. For many of the kick drums hits throughout one side of this record, there is some very loud distortion. The problem is not in my sound system - there was definitely was a problem in the production of this record.

Does anyone else who owns this record have this problem? If I just bought a defective copy, I'll get another one. If the problem exists on all of the copies, then I guess I'm out of luck.

Bard, I think it's very rude and inappropriate for you to make a statement like that in an open forum. If you have some criticism that you want to say directly to Tegma, you should email them privately. I think what you said is pretty ridiculous, too. If you don't agree with their mixing and production style, that's one thing, but to say that they have a "problem" with all of their kicks makes you sound foolish. Yes, you complimented their music, but you also make an objective statement that something is wrong with their mixing. The production of a kick drum sound is purely a creative choice on the part of the artist, there is no right or wrong way.

>(its not a matter of taste but a matter of mix!)

No, it is a matter of taste.

No, there isn't right and wrong. All music creation is subjective. If you eq or compress a sound in different ways, it changes the sound, and any change in sound is a creative choice.

As far as I see it, the only "wrong" in music creation is when a musician attempts to create a particular sound, and they are unsuccessful in doing so. Such as trying to sing in tune, and failing. However, anytime a musician makes an intentional change in their music, it can't ever be "wrong", even if every single person who listens to their music doesn't like it.

Ok, It's very nice and open minded these things you say.

And in the general idea I beleive in the purity of music in the way you describe it.

First of all they(Tegma) arn't free and open minded kinda of people because they are not making freestyle music with no boundries they are doing trance, and this music LAWS were defined years ago.

But...trance and especially the kind tegma is doing (swedish,Ticon style)

Its all about spotless production, thats mostly built on drum sequensing.

As you know the kick is a drum, and if it does not sounds good, in trax like these so the music becomes second rate TICON.

Ok, you basically are determinded to prove that you know what can and can't be done within the rules of trance music, and I really think that this is a pointless debate.
