The classic Boyd In The Void

No, but seriously. I have more than 50 compilations rated 5/5 in my Discogs-collection so it's impossible to pick just one.

Ohh I heard this one to smithereens...

Opened my eyes to Dark Soho's "metal trance".... from 6:16 till finish... perfection!

I would not really put this compilation in the Goa-trance "category" but it still have some that old school psy-trance vibe.. :)

and of course this track has to mentioned...

First Flight, without a doubt.

I know quoting yourself is weird, but even though I said "no doubt" back then, I have to come to an entirely different conclusion today. In my opinion, Goa Vibes Vol. 2 is the best Goa Compilation ever. It just perfectly showcases the really big names: MFG, Etnica, Transwave, BPC, X-Dream, MWNN and Astral Projection. And ALL the tracks here are immense classics and some of the best old school Goa has to offer.

While I understand the point of showcasing already released (to album) tracks on a compilation, I greatly prefer listening to compilations with all new songs, as opposed to ones taken from albums I already own. The latter diminishes any chance of me buying the compilation.

Newer compilations that I prefer in that regards include:

- Temple of Chaos (Suntrip Records)

- People Walk Funny (Cronomi Records)

For that classic sound Tantrance 2.

For quirky way out there psychedeliciousness Tantrance 6.

I'm sure there are many more but those two for me are the height of what psychedelic trance was about in those days.

Really miss the 90's where a dj would play some house, then techno & add some psychedelic trance to the mix. I remember raves here where no one cared back then what style, genre or era the music was from. They were the best days & best sets.
