Was listening to this release today , reminded me of good old Makyo from Dakini even though the sound is discernibly distinct from Makyo , less eastern , less raga- the mind manifest quotient and ideas arent but im afraid i haven't heard much else from back then. Celtic cross , muses rapt have been overplayed. I'm looking for that sound that doesn't overdo the eastern ethnic theme, remains loopy and beaty, a good example would be the last track from elucidations.

Which were the other labels doing chill-out back then?

Hoping folks to point me in the right direction. :)

Also regarding Humito : I love his tracks on Elucidations. I did a search couldn't find any albums by him. Seems a bit strange an artist of his caliber doesn't have anything under his belt. Even drum druids (Laughing Buddha doesn't have much (anything?) under this monicker.

Haven't heard that comp, but based on your description you might like the Surrender To The Vibe series.

Also, check out the Strong Sun Moon comp and Kay Nakayama: Effect.

I liked the more organic stuff like RTTS, and ambient to play in chill-out. Currently I play the these old stuff plus Ibiza and some trip-hop, a la Massive Attack.

Pure psy/goa chill-out gets tiresome soon, if you play for 2 hours in a row.

Love Dakini but I'd still give the edge to LSD

You could also try early interchill releases too, they were in a similar mould and both Dakini & LSD comps were also released on Interchill (Sky Dancing/Orchid & Interior Horizons for a start).

Dakini just about wins for me.

Dakini together with LSD and Interchill probably are the best labels in their field from a few years ago, but Peak Records put out a few good chilled releases.

Namely these comps:

http://www.discogs.com/Various-Tranchillizer/release/1296055

and these excellent artist albums:

If you haven't heard them all of the above are well worth checking out.
