The old school compilation artists

As I've been listening and researching more and more, I'm finding myself interested in different artists that I never knew of and I've found 2 balls to the walls amazing artists that I have not seen much talk about. They made their debuts too late and in relation to that, their style had gone too far from what made them great in the first place with them. The tracks that had the magic were released with EP's or Comp tracks.

Psychaos is the first one. Joti Sidhu, his name is probably very known, but there has been hardly any talk about just how amazing his old school style was. Pretty much everything he released on comps pre-99 was kickass, extremely dark, powerful, unique, mind-bending and twisted goa-trance.

Other notables are Psychochemical Age, Keyboard Widow, Dense Dawn, Chaos To Order, Soundbeams, Acidica, S.E.T.I., Psychaos and the ever legenedary Free Lemonade remix. All of these tracks are just magnificent, seriously should be as talked about as for example the most known etnica tracks. Oh and he did collaborate with etnica on that note. They apparently made a track as Etnichaos and that is a pretty damn good tune that never got released, shame. Draeke take note. :P

Then there's another called Nervasystem. His album was pretty bad, and hardly had anything to do with goatrance, but all the compilation tracks, just massive acid work! His music is full of that old school soul that you can't find nowadays. He also released an album with an artist called aether but of course it turns out what they released before the album was also, again, simply better.

Other notables, Venussian Illusion, Decoder, Stardust, Formasi Voices, Beyond Molecule 25.

God it's just strikes me as odd that they didn't release main albums with the quality of these tunes. Psychaos debut was OK, but it was far too minimal-like whereas his compilation tracks just beat the crap out of those with the immense amounts of power, and Nervasystem was just some weird mix of things..

You got any compilation favourites from the old ones?

Yes! Manmademan too, I was super disappointed with all of their albums, but the compilation tracks were just like in psychaos's case. Bangers, with growling sounds! Hex EP, Delirium, Kraton 3 and of course the Tristan collaborations Julz and William. Awesome tracks.

FYI Drezz aka Nervasystem is still involved in music - he has an oldschool valve/tape recording studio here in Bristol. He DJd his oldschool stuff in Israel in the last year or so and is considering going back to writing a little electronic music, possibly even trance. Don't get your hopes up though.

I Savastano also belongs here, really good atmospheric acid goa tunes. Never released a main album either, just a handful of tracks on comps.

Well it certainly would be cool if he could produce new old school style tracks B)

Banging! I love that sound that starts at 1 minute mark, unfortunately it seems this is the best thing he ever wrote and almost the only thing he wrote when it comes to goa
