Oxygene

I have the original Polydor vinyl. Probably inherited from my mother or something.

Love it, cherish it, play it on those special occasions.

Jarre is a geek bar none, but something about his music just makes me gleefully smile. Time after time after time after time.

My parents have the Oxygene and Equinoxe vinyl and with them, they probably introduced me to electronic music. Back then, I couldn't understand or grasp the greatness of this music.

My favorites are Oxygene 1, 4, 8 and Equinoxe 1, 2, 5. I think that Jarre truly is a genius and countless times I've wanted to have a time machine, so that I'd be able to go back through time to watch his concerts, e.g. La Defense, Houston, Pyramids and Docklands concerts. I've never seen events of such grandeur and magnitude and everytime I watch them on TV, I get goosebumps.

Thank you all for sharing these great experiences.

First time i have listened to Jarre was at the Planetarium and i was a little boy , no idea that it was Jarre.

But certainly when me and my class we all got out of the Planetarium , everybody was singing the song.

I only have discovered Jarre's work later on when i was in the 7th grade.

Went to a colleague's place and i found this Oxygene cd.

First time i heard it i fell for it just because of the fact it was only an instrumental and i love instrumentals and everybody must know that here :) .

And here is the song that played over at the Planetarium @ Lisbon many years ago:

Glad to hear I am not the only one growing up listing to Jarre :D Together with Pink Floyd (Dark Side Of the Moon),he is the artist that made most influence on me (and I remember listing too the most) when I was a kid

A few years ago I went to see a live concert with Jarre where he played Oxygene on the original synths, it was one of the best music experiences of my life, cream-pants!

here is video from that tour, fuck I still get goosebumps when I think about it....
