Old is Gold 8 with Crossing Mind Live

Recommended Posts

What can I say? It was FANTASTIC.

I came from Italy to see this unique performance and it was really worth it.

The set started at 5:00 and went on for 2 hours, there was a great new track that introduced all of us to the complex world of this artist... it was simply magical because it seemed to me time warped, the tracks flew one into each other creating something i didn't expect. I had not danced so hard since a long time, i can promise you.

I am sure that he will perform again because it sounded SO good. And I actually was not expecting such a perfect sound on a huge sound system, because I knew tracks were old and the mastering was not really remade for the occasion but WOW they sounded like pro stuff, really. If I ever had a doubt about the production of his tracks it's no more, it was great.

The only question is, why wasn't he noticed back then? That is beyond my comprehension.. for real.

Everyone jumped like crazy. So i seen i was not the only one enjoying..: )

Then there was Anoebis playing and well, what can i say? if he isn't the prophet of psychedelic trance, i don't know who is.

He started with a crop circles track that sounded just perfect after the crossing mind sound and took us all to another dimension: the music was so acidic i couldn't believe it, incredible. Top notch mixing and fantastic selection since he progressed from acid to morning stuff with chants and everything you would expect to hear at that time. Thank you. Nothing else can be said.

You Belgians made it happen again, and once again: thanks for the friendship and the nice vibes i felt : )))

Bravo!

I arrived at 3:00 and wasn't into the mood yet...

When my good friend Yani started to turn tables I went crazy on the major hits he played. So when Crossing Minds started I was exhausted already. Thus I liked it that some of his tracks were a little slower, however, I think this was not as appreciated by the people as by me. Anyway, it was a good live act with lots of mind-twisting stuff

Then when Jos began, I took a small rest. But soon enough he dragged me on the dancefloor again with his trancemusic

(I don't understand how some people can bitch about trance on www.psychedelic.be ...)

You did a great job, Jos (of moe ik 'Josh' zeggen, op z'n engels :P).

Post Scriptum: Frederico I also didn't know you were gonna be there. Too bad, I would have like to had a chat with you too. Oh well, next time ^_^

And I WANT THE CROSSING MIND CD NOW ALREADY!!! ;)

(I have found my username and password again for psynews  )

then just check my uploads, i uploaded 8 videos of the party... some tracks are not complete cause i didn't have the will to stay all the time still, i also wanted to dance.

It was already a sacrifice not to dance to most of the hits... so i did it for you all : )..

I feel free to copy the review of a nice guy that i met in Belgium at the party.

His nickname on the belgian psychedelic forum is Robbelaar86, i hope he will not be disappointed that i post his review here too. Also because i know crossing mind reads this topic : ).

"Re: Oig 8 15/05/10

I'll write this review in English, so Draeke and Crossing Mind can also read it!

This is one of parties I gonna remember for a very long time. I danced the entire time like crazy during Crossing Mind and felt all kinds of emotions. But start with the beginning.

Arrived at six with Jos, Job and Caroline and started helping building the party. I was surprised how fast everything went, I guess at nine we were already (almost) finished.

I must say the deco was very cool. There was a very special place where you could see two pieces meld into each other. But I guess you could only see this at the beginning of the party because one of the pieces was in front of the dj booth.

Now the music. I didn't dance too much during the first three djs (Javi, Psytoad and Yani), mainly because I wanted to save my energy for Crossing Mind. I was so looking forward hearing his tracks. But still all three had good tracks where I couldn't resist dancing. Too bad this was the last dj set of Javi, I always have good times during your sets. Good luck making music!

Ziggy, I totally like your energy when your behind the decks! You always seem to enjoy spinning so much and you transfer that joy to the people.

Yani, your set was also good, but as I said, I was waiting for the live set!

Then Crossing Mind... Wow what an experience that was... I'm still baffled by all the emotion I felt during that two hours: happiness, sadness, surprise and pure love to name a few. I laughed and cried and danced and tranced like never before. Thanks for that amazing live set, one of the best I've ever heard. My favorite track is Hypnotropic at the moment and asked Draeke to please release that track on the Crossing Mind album. After the set I was drained of all my energy and emotion, so I went outside to hear the birds tjirp and tweet.

It did take me a while before I could dance again, so during the first half of Jos his set I was sulking around a bit and laying down listening to the fine tunes. The last part I finally renewed myself when I heard a known track which I really like (can't remember the name though :S). Then I trancedanced until the end of the party and really enjoyed every track!

The cleaning part of the party was even quicker than the building of it. At noon we were finished and ready to go back to Gent.

Great party, wonderful music, perfect weekend! Thx Steven, Chris, Jos, Caroline, Stephane and everybody else.

Peace and Love!"
