Monastic Squid
MonasticSquid (Rob Nichols) grew up in a small Somerset costal town. Playing piano from age 12, He moved on to drums and guitar but remained a keyboard player foremost; playing in school and college bands. At University he studied Japanese Language, became the 'Equipment Manger' - and promoted the ‘Flat Press’ electronic nights in Winchester City, spinning vinyl such as Orbital, F.S.O.L and Black Dog Productions - Rob also had a hand in the early 90’s London squat party ‘Zero Gravity’ ~ hosting regular names such as Cloggi, Quark, Sonic, Justin & Aaron Liberator, Dave the Drummer and the Club Dog crew. Often journeying to festivals and parties through the 90’s Rob followed the Techno road until 1995 when a friend played him a Tsuyoshi Suzuki mix and he discovered ‘Goa Trance’. Movimg out to Australia he fell into the DOOF parties and PsyTrance’…following the flow back through Asia he returned to London and in 2000 began producing psytrance under the name ‘Monastic Squid’; releasing on Alchemy Records and Procyon Records. Teaming up with good friend and Progressive Producer DJ Marcello (CIMI) together as M-THEORY (Alchemy Records) - MonasticSquiD has continued to swim in the depths of the London Underground Scene - surfacing only at night time to feed.......!

Jay Om
Jay OM was born in Italy and now resides in London. His earliest psychedelic-rock influences were forged playing guitar in local bars in Milan and his romance with the decks began in the late 80's whilst working for a local radio station where he was given the opportunity to spin his first record. This love firmly in place the move to London followed in 1998. In 1999 he started djing professionally and since then has been rocking the crowds at many of the biggest venues in London as well as outdoor parties in the UK and Europe. In 2003 he studied Sound Engineering and Music Technology and began solo production under the name Journey, and in collaboration with Anton Petrov as Star~Trip. In 2004, he conceived the vision of a network of like-minded artists in the psy-trance and ambient genres, all working to promote themselves and each other under one banner. Thus the Free-Spirit label was born... Originally intended to focus on artist management, the label's skyrocketing success combined with the enthusiasm of Jay, the artists, and fans enabled Free-Spirit to outgrow its horizons. Free-Spirit continues to build a collective of artists and djs from the UK, Europe and worldwide, aiming to create and provide access to a combined set of resources not available to them as individuals, making it just a little easier for all to concentrate on what they truly love, which is the music! Free-Spirit Vol.1 "Brahamaputra", the debut release for Free-Spirit Records compiled by Jay OM, hit the shops in October 2006, featuring both a Journey and a Star~Trip track amongst others and Christopher Lawrence (ranked No. 4 DJ in the world) featured Journey's Spotless mind in his Top 10 in December 2006. Free-Spirit Vol.2 "Eupsychia" followed in June 2007 with 2 more tracks from Journey and Star~Trip and in 2008 with other 5 releases, Free-Spirit Vol.3 "Neophilia", V/A Revolve Records and the new V/A Mutigen Records. Jay released his first solo Journey album "The man who sold the time" on Free-Spirit Records in December 2008. Today, Jay's reputation as an active, involved, and hard working individual in the global trance circuit precedes him. His commitment and enthusiasm for trance music has left an indelible impression on the world scene already, and Jay's future has never looked brighter, from his burgeoning successful record label to his organized events in the UK to his upcoming solo release. Jay works tirelessly at his art and trade and the music he brings to the masses exemplifies the fruits of his labour and energy.

DJ Sati
Has been playing in and around the London scene for the past 3 years. Her styles vary between progressive, driving Psytrance and Techno sometimes mixing up many different genres in one set. Resident with Cohesion, Oneness & Tribal Dance, Sati has played alongside the likes of Infected Mushroom, Astrix, John OO Fleming, Sterling Moss, Prozak, Chris Liberator, Breakfastaz, Sutekh, Beatnik, Journey, Tron, Sinewave to name but a few, and in venues such as indigo2 (Infecting the UK), Brixton Academy (Psychedelic Academy - Antiworld), Turnmills (Antiworld), The Fridge (Colours, Logic), Aera (Contrast), The Medussa, 414 (Cohesion) & Grand Junction Arms (Torque). Last year Sati's psytrance took her to Lake Deczno in her homeland of Poland, where she was the only female artist to play at the Ramada Festival. She Returns to Poland this year for the Common Festival on 11th July.

DJ Prozak
Has been DJ'ing for the past 15 years and is truly in a class of his own. There simply isn't a venue he hasn't played at. Not content with just DJ'ing. He also produces engineers & re-mixes at his studios “LG4” in London, UK. With current residencies around the globe. Plus running his own promotions in London, “Cohesion” & “Event Horizon”. Having run numerous successful trance record labels in the past has in the last 3 years turned his attention to psychedelic sounds. Recently Prozak has joined forces with Free-Spirit Records UK plus the “Logic” Organization. Famed for his cutting edge full on psychedelic trance, electro & progressive sets. Never miss a boom.
