It's based on a Steven King story I haven't read; probably a short story because I don't recognize the title "The Colorado Kid". It's not the best, but now that I'm a couple dozen episodes in, it's getting weirder and weirder and definitely taking on a trademark Steven King vibe. I like that they've made minor ties to at least two different Steven King stories (Misery & The Shawshank Redemption), and even gave a nod to The X-Files!
