Tim Healey

Sleazy fucking shit. Raunchy, horny, dirty, mean, filthy, greasy, sexy, very psychedelic electro trash mashup. Something like that.

Heard him perform 'live' twice, and twice he rocked the dancefloor big time. I don't think I've ever seen anyone rock dancefloors like he did. He's an arrogant little brat and rightfully so. It's half remixes of rock songs, half mixed over with his own sounds. It's so wrong and so delightful at the same time.

This year's Fusion festival we had to play until 8 o'clock, and made sure we were completely finished at 8, so we could get (fucked up ;)) as fast as possible and miss the least possible of Tim Healy's last hour and a half.

Krelmatrix even missed parts of the EC final last year, because Tim Healy killed us... I think he'd have to be experienced live to fully get the idea though.

But man. Look for yourself: it's not the same time, but you'll get an idea...

And yeah: he used to be one half of Quirk.

Haha, you MUST have been very high on psychedelics when you saw him live, I guess there's no other explanation for your major enthusiasm. ;) (not being sarcastic)

He's a bit boring and too repetitive imo.

Edit; I just read in the lowest part of your post he was one half of Quirk :blink:

I thought I knew that name Tim Healey.

I don't recognize the sound init, maybe the style is a little like the Paradise Pills track from Quirk.

Well, at least in this track I recognize the style;

i didn't think it was that bad, sounds like a sunny, trippy, mashy, barbie-doll dance with a quirky energetic beat on it.

I could see myself liking that every now and again. like one afternoon I actually enjoyed an Autokratz track... jesus did i feel dirty afterwards...

Hahaha. :)

Well, actually both times I saw him I was high indeed. But for me that's usually a lackmus test whether something's good or bad. That is, when I'm on psychedelics. And I'm normally too critical than is good for me. But his stuff is something different. There were about 20 friends with me that all agreed... and they're mostly serious psy-heads (or were).

Actually, I can understand completely why someone wouldn't like him (especially if he plays after Logic Bomb) but to me he really knows how to rock a floor. I guess the youtube link I posted isn't really exemplary for his livesets...

If someone wants to give it (another) try, I have a demo of him here I'm willing to share (hush hush).

Aaaaaah well. I'm not sure how I can bring across that in his wrongness he does indeed rock the house. In a good way too. I'm waiting for a reply from supergroover or krelmatrix now!

Maybe the example wasn't too good for starters indeed, I think this is a pretty cool track;

And this one is certainly much better then;

And this too:);

After a couple more listenings to some other tracks I can see why you like him, I didn't like the clubby stuff that much, but there are pretty cool tracks of him too, thanks for the tip.

It's still hard to believe that he's really the one from Quirk, I know it's true, but it's just a waaay different style, pretty commercial sounding.

.....and then compare that to this:

He was also a member of Unconscious Collective together with OOOD boys that made this stormer:

Tim Healey is a badass motherfucker. Period. :angry:

He was a badass motherfucker when he was half of Quirk, he was still a badass motherfucker when he started doing Electric Tease, continued being an even badder ass motherfucker when he was putting out stuff as Slide & Healey ("Fear" still makes me cream on myself!!!) and Allen & Healey, was slightly less of a badass motherfucker but still a pretty damn badass motherfucker with his Coburn releases, and is back to the top of the mountain as the most badass motherfucker with his most recent self-titled stuff.

No arguments.

His music is hedonostically luxurious psychedelic karaoke porn

If you don't like it, then I've got a really killargh Soniq Vision or Vibe Tribe CD you can listen to while plugging fake ecstasy in your bum and pretending to reach true goa enlightenment. :ph34r:

Haha!

Ok then! :)

I don't like Vibe Tribe, Sonic Vision I never heard of, and ecstacy is a really louzy drug imo, I hate it, and I don't believe in goa enlightenment, I'm not a hippy, but I guess he make's some great stuff, but it's hard to tune in to his style if you don't know what to expect, I guess you need a humoristic approach.

I guess these words are a pretty detailed description of his sound.

Tim Healy is probably the one artist that is universally beloved by all my friends and people that more or less share my taste in music that I don`t like. Most of my Berlin friends and the Fluffmeister himself Krelmatrix cum all over themselves when talking about Healy, but I cant share their enthusiasm. Of course some of his stuff is cool, but his music is too rocky and "unpretty" for my liking. I like pretty music, not filthy music. Because I am pretty, too :rolleyes:
