Well I've always been intrigued by

which was probably one of the very first trance tracks I've ever heard (initially released in 1993, still sounds fresh today IMO). The odd part is that after that there were like a million different projects who presented the same track as their own "creation": Lost Tribe - Game Master and
. Anyone knows what the story behind this track? And why did so many people rip it off? I mean, the rip-offs were never presented as remixes of the original, but as completely new tracks, when they obviously weren't...

Here's a start of answer for Miss Shiva , indeed Cj Bolan is credited, so not a rip of at all..

In the second case, there's just a passage which look like, in term of copyright an artist has right to copy a limited number of measure of a tune (sample) without crediting the original.

Btw you're right, i know other covers of this anthem, one from Bell-Bar - "What do you think" well known producers (Frankie Fischer & Beat Paul productions)

specialized for Airplay rec in covers purposes.

Today they've got a professional music business => <a href="http://www.bumtchak.com/" target="_blank">http://www.bumtchak.com/[/url]

For those who could be interested in Bell bar, i found out on the net some trace of their old releases (the first one is the closest to their cover of Dreams on a tones view except this time it's based ona James Bond melody) :

Bell bar - Did You Love Me ? =>http://djfabmegeve.blogspot.com/2009/04/be...xi-cd-1995.html I advice the 3rd & 4th versions here

Bell Bar - Red Alert (remix)=>http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/searc...remix1996_music

Bell Bar - Red Alert (tribal)=>http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/searc...usic?hmz=746162

Bell bar - This ? (unofficial remix) => http://www.wat.tv/audio/el-mister-dj-remix...ipwg_io7z_.html

I quite like Gamemaster, its taken the acid from Dreams and transformed it into this marvellous breakdown, though Dreams is still slightly better.
