The songs inside this downloadable zip file are each a chapter of the journey that awaits you. Early on, you will be introduced to a sonic landscape filled with sprightly, powerful creatures eager to dance with you through the night.

As the album progresses, you will find that this is no sweet grassy meadow you may trollop past with impunity. Tra-la-la! Rather it is a roiling atmospheric storm that roars through the night sky on crisp, powerful basslines carving a newly shaped understanding of unknown aural frontiers.

Again and again the ground will shift beneath your feet, seething to lift off. Don't let it get away from you! Grab a shovel and dig in!

by the way, here is our bio:

Unwashed Tomato is a collaborative psytrance production initiative started by Andy Aylward and David Mostoller in late 2006. Our main focus is creating an intensely psychedelic, groovy experience which is at once quirky and powerful, containing motifs from many musical traditions. Close attention is given to producing a complex yet cohesive sound while maintaining a clean and dynamic mix.

Since the summer of 2008, the project has expanded to include frequent appearances by Rod O'Connor, whose unique sensibilities have contributed new elements to the project.

Dave and Andy are the founders and managers of Unwashed Records.

Maybe you've got a picture of Prgdsgdsgn

I\d like to know what's that

Hey Yerg,

I (Andy) am red/green colorblind, and green is particularly hard to see. While we were writing that track Dave color coded a bunch of midi clips with different shades of green just to keep me on my toes. I saw a lot of them as shades of funky looking grey (and some turned out actually to be grey), so we named the track in honor of the legitmacy of disparate modes of perception and all the associated fun things to think about.

Glad you guys like the track titles! There are also little blurbs explaining (more or less) one possible interpretation or impression of each track included with the release as part of a set of printable posters made out of spectrograms of the tracks on the album. :D

This guy used the nick even before the announcement of a VA called Freshly Cut Tomato. So if anything, it's the other way around.

Never heard of it before seeing this thread.

The name for Freshly Cut Tomato popped in my head while making a salad and pondering whether or not I should start the adventure of having a label. :)

Hi guys,

Nice name for a comp Mike A!

We chose our name because, like many people, one of our first big psytrance crushes was on Infected Mushroom. We try to express, through our music, our interpretation of the dynamic psychedelic experience that is life, so you see where the name came from.

We believe humor to be an important aspect of music and most other things... :P
