I like it a lot, dispite some flaws like major car cues to get in (me and a friend had to walk for 6 Km carried with bags to get in, we took about 6 hours), the dance floor tent didn't seem concluded and showers didn't seem to work properly. Didn't like the music very much though, became a bit boring after a while but the people were very nice and friendly. And saw live porn!!!!! Yes, there we're lots of things in the festival, not only the tipical dance and ambient floor. One of the great things about boom is that it's not just a trance festival but a multicultural, multiartistic event. It was held in a sustainable village built near a beautifull lake with restaurants, flee market, potable water, showers, toilets, huge camping area so you had all the basic needs to survive the 8 days. Of course stuff was a expensive for portuguese pockets so we brought loads of canned food. As for the entertainment we had much to choose from: dance floor, ambient floor, groovy beach floor with all kinds of music from new age to triphop, sacred fire floor with ethnic music, psycedelic painting expositions, theatre/ performance room, cinema/ conference room, therapeutical room for massages, meditation, trance inducing musi, etc. In the lake there we're some gadjets, like a bicicle boat that people could use to cross the lake and a sort of hamster spining wheel. We spent most of the time in the dance floor, wich in terms of decoration was a bit poor comparing to previous editions (where the fuck were the black lights!! )... it seemed incomplete to me. Didn't like the music much, sometimes became a bit boring with the same bassline and proggy effects but the people were smiley and friendly and for me that's what counts the most. Didn't spend much time in other areas so can't say much about it. Anyone? Overall for us was a very nice, unique moment in time that we'll never forget. Agneton Posted September 6, 2008 Share Posted September 6, 2008 The fest was OK, music didn't interest me a lot, and there was indeed this electro 'groove' tent, which played "mainstream" music mostly. The lake nearby the festival's tent and the main boom environment was indeed muddy -or too dusty!-, but our tent had been placed a kilometer outside the festival's borders, and there it looked pretty romantic ... My memories about Boom are mostly positive, I had some great moments there, but that wasn't because of the music. There were lots of side-activities and lotsa good food 'n juices, shops,... so my day was always filled with excitement Btw 6 hours walking is still better than 17 hours by car blagh...
