Rare vinyls that you did not know are rare

I don't know if it's really considered particularly 'rare', but I think of it that way since it was so hard to find the song (vinyl or CD). But I finally found it, and it should be on its way to me in a few days: http://www.discogs.com/release/93493

Actually, I have Der Grosse Kumpo on a Medium Records compilation, but it was Narkotische Früchte that I really wanted.

Can anyone tell me how to pronounce Institut Für Bassforschung and Narkotische Früchte?

aka, not many presses, not many copies. on all discogs there are 3 users including me that have this. :)

I don't think this is a 100% right criteria. I personnaly have CDs that noone has on Discogs, but they are definitely not rare.

But it's sure that if it is rare then few people will have it on Discogs. So I guess it is some kind of a necessary yet not sufficient condition.

red stuff - this is more like a criteria, but hard to tell :D

I personnaly don't have anything rare (I think).

I have 2 copies of this vinyl, and I never thought it was rare...

Dig in your vinyls and see if you have anything rare that you did not now was rare and post here :)

It's a coloured promo - a promo is a promo - so no wonder is limited. Nothing remarkable about that.

MIDIJUM Records was one of the last labels to put out pSy-prog trance vinyls. I guess they weren't produced in much quantities either but absolutely can't be called a rarity.

In all fairness and honesty, I have absolutely no idea whether any of my vinyls are rare or not...

I mainly pay attention to music and its quality, the scarsity of a release does not and cannot impress me. However, and anybody please correct me if I am wrong, over the years these 12" somehow gained the status of being rare, at least judging by what others thought of them...

the thing is, i have a mate that has the PROMO release of this, and it is NOT green ;) Its black, with white label. I think this is a SPECIAL edition one. I have even heard rumors that there is a blue version... and even if it WAS a promo, it is a very rare promo, cause I dont know many that have this special release. All of which I know have the black promo, or the original release.

I have some stuff not submitted to Discogs as well.

Well, submit. I can get it in with 1 click only :0)

http://www.discogs.com/release/225605

This record was supposedly only pressed in 10 copies - It was pressed in a standard run (for this label) of 6 test pressings and 4 copies with printed labels. There may have been more made outside of this, but the total number is said to be no more than 10. It was never intended for retail release and thus there was never a full promo run pressed.

Discogs Community

10 members have this

Time to update notes ? :wank:

Some people add their MP3 collection to discogs too. Maybe this explaines the 10 members?
