Q: So who is Entheogenic [names/ages/nationality/location] ?

A: Piers Oak-Rhind; English [Dorset], Helmut Glavar born in Austria.

Q: Where did you meet and when ? How did you settle in the south-west of France ?

A: We met at a studio in Toulouse in 1999 where we both worked as sound technicians for Emagic. Now we currently live in an old French farm-house situated deep in the country-side far from the maddening crowd.

Q: Before you met, did you make music alone ?

A: Helmut: Had my first bands in the early 80’s, back then it was New Wave / Punk

Piers: Yes, I’ve been jamming with friends, musicians since I was 15.

Q: Your album is a surprise : 1st we'd never hard of you before, 2nd it's released on 3DVision (not up to anyone), 3rd it's great (not so usual). Please explain us all that.

A: A lot of determination went into the making of Entheogenic, the emerging energy then took care of the rest. We soon had offers from several labels. We chose 3D Vision because they had a great reputation. What was also interesting was that our album was so different from what they usually release. Seemed to be an interesting adventure for both sides.

Q: How would you define your style ? Some people say "Shpongle-like"...

A: Organic ambient psychedelic landscape dream music. ‘’Shpongle-like’’: probably, because very few people make music on this level, plus we use the same kind of instruments; synths, computers, samplers, water etc.

Q: Where does the inspiration come from when building a track ?

A: Of course we have our muses… But the album was strongly influenced by Ayahuasca, which became a musical translation of a 5 hour journey through different levels of intense psychedelic experiences. Plus any emotional experience of any sort is a great driving force for inspiration.

Q: What equipment do you use to make your music ?

A: All kind of machines, which translate our internal visions into external soundscapes.

Q: Do you plan to release more tracks ?

A: We are currently finishing our second album at the moment, and there are possibilities to do some tunes on a few compilations. But as far as we know there will be an endless stream of tantalizing music ahead of us.

Q: Which of your own tracks do you like most ?

A: Helmut: All of them tell a part of the story, the question would then be; which part of the story we prefer, and this is rather difficult to answer.

Piers: Different things appeal differently at different times.

Q: What kind of music do you usually listen to ?

A: Helmut: Depends on the moment, - lots of classical, lots of psy-trance and lots of whatever lies in between.

Piers: Mostly psychedelic music, {Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Pink-Floyd etc.} I think the new 3D Vision album ‘Inside’ is very good and intense. I also have a deep passion for Indian and Celtic music.

Q: Are you involved in other projects ?

A: Other then creating music.. no.

Q: Are there any artists you'd like to work with ?

A: Sure, we have plans to use classical and ethnic musicians from all over the globe. Any offers are welcome.

Q: What are you doing in life except making music ?

A: Walking, sleeping and dreaming up music, other than that we like to travel physically and mentally.

Q: Will you play in some parties/festivals this summer ?

A: We are invited to Greece, France and Italy, but would also like to get some time off.

Q: Which was your best party, and your worst one ?

A: Helmut: Brazilian parties are always great, if there ever was a worst one we forgot about it.

Piers: Hard to remember

Q: What do you think of the evolution of electronic music ? Good, Bad or Ugly in your opinion ?

A: Helmut: The possibilities today are fantastic, electronic music is a tool to express yourself in ever more complex ways. Combining it with organic natural sounds and instruments makes the sound canvas ever richer.

Piers: I agree, things can only get better.
