Q: When did you start making psytrance ?

A: Circa 1993-1994 gradually deviating from other forms of electronic endeavour, some of these being druidic ...

Q: Your musical background ?

A: A formless array of musical tendencies colliding within a cauldron of psychobeats Punk, grundge & industrial bands ....

Q: Which of your own tracks do you like the best ?

A: Those with cloudy breaks leading to a blind summit, stuff you can play live like jughead, carrier, the forge or those that make you cackle like Geb ...

Q: Your favourite psychedelic Groups & Albums ?

A: Mmm.. heard very good stuff in parties but we were mostly off our faces to realise who was playing and what ... Actually the other day Vince from "Synaptic Meltdown System" played us some really cool stuff he had done...

Q: Where does your inspiration come from ?

A: Those few seconds of redemption that set in after bouts of debauchery; sticky skunk, the bodies information storage retrieval system, that receptacle for ancient knowledge handed down from the bio-diversive elements that ebb seemingly effortless ...

Q: Tell us something about Ambivalent Records. What happened to Zerotonine UK?

A: Ambivalent is a more deviant name ...

Q: What kind of equipment do you use to make your Tracks ?

A: A G4 400 Mac running Cubase + loads of plug-ins, Nord Lead, JP8000, Nova & BassStation synths, a ProMix 01 Yamaha mixer ...

Q: Future projects, new tracks ?

A: A remix of a Charasmatix track called 'Equilibrium' and a compilation on our own Ambivalent Records label under the name of "Creeping Ambivalent Tendencies" featuring new artists such as Thermal Boundaries, a psychic odyssey from the likes of Frank Yallop & The Seminal, those ganja whores named Joint Effort, Mike Modular and others. It is going to be quite up-tempo but there will be some psy dub tracks & ambience thrown in for good measure ...

Q: Is there any artist you'd like to work with ?

A: Yeah, there are some tweaking wizards about and we are open to suggestions.

Q: What do you think about the evolution of psytrance in the last years ?

A: I see the gradual evolution of the ever increasing esoteric art form....Generally good, music becoming more abstract & deeper although at the moment it is pretty hit-and-miss, loads of minimalistic bollocks about. It is easy to see how some of these tunes make sense in parties held in small clubs where you have to squeeze in and dance almost rigid to avoid hitting people, they do generate some ambience & elbow room but also encourage passing wanna-be producers to churn out rubishy half-cooked fodder that litters the scene ...

Q: What do You think about the future of psytrance ?

A: Well, more trance producers appearing pouting in their album covers .., trance producers taking up fluoro clothing design & possibly manufacturing > to join in the profitable side of the scene as music pirating escalates ... on the other hand a larger world-wide festival circuit, part of the scene moving into mainstream, holistic biodiversive excess ...

Q: Other artist releases on Ambivalent UK ?

A: this is still early dates but if anyone has any music they think we might like send it to our agent at cauldronwallace@deviantspecies.co.uk

Thx a lot from the psy-community and give us more awesome tracks !
