Q: Who is Cosma ? Tell us a little about yourself to get to know you better.

A: "Cosma" is Avihen Livne from a sity called Kiriat Bialik, in Israel. I'm 22 years old and music is my main interest.

 

Q: What is your musical background ?

A: I've started making music three years ago, mainly trance music. I started working as a team called "Diablo" for a year. We produced an album called "Insufficient Memory", and since then I'm working by my self.

 

Q: When were you first attracted to Trance, and what inspired the step towards production of this genre of music ?

A: I was first attracted to trance music five years ago, when I started going to outside trance parties. The underground atmosphere, the mystery, and the multi - meaning trance music has attracted me and inspired me towards producing this music.

 

Q: Do you listen to other styles of music besides Trance. Anything out there you would like to recommend ?

A: Yes, I do. I like "Depeche Mode", "Cure", "Vast", "Sister of Mercy", "Massive Attack", "Dead Can Dance", etc.

 

Q: I believe you are using mostly computers to generate your sound. How are you getting such an amazing quality in your sound, what's the secret ?

A: I keep the secret to my self. I believe that the less buttons, the work will be less complicated.

 

Q: Many artists today are moving to audio and midi is becoming kind of obsolete. Do you feel working with audio is good enough to make professional quality tracks ? What is your view on this topic ?

A: Audio is good enough, and the proof for that is my album.

 

Q: In my honest opinion, 'Simplicity' is the best album Israeli album of the year - It simply Rocks ! Can you tell us about it ?

A: It took me almost a year to produce this album, a lot of hard work. Things I've been through this year had a strong effect on my work. The album includes all kinds of trance music: from deep trance through ambient, progressive, and full on. Through this album I tried to reach audience of all music backgrounds.

 

Q: Do you play DJ sets at all? Which are your favourite tracks at the time (Top 10) ?

A: I prefer not to. I love live performances, they are much more energetic, and people know it is your music you are playing. My favorite tracks are: (not in particular order) coming soon ...

 

Q: Any artists out there you would like to collaborate with ? Future projects perhaps ?

A: I would like working with Dado, Spectral, Quirk, Future projects are another trance album, and then may be moving to more universal music.

 

Q: What kind of audience is your music aimed at. How would you like people to approach your music ?

A: All kinds of people, no boundaries.

 

Q: What other things in life interest you besides music ?

A: I love traveling, love nature, the beach, landscapes ... I'm also interested in art.

 

Q: What direction is Trance taking in Israel ? Is there hope for melodies in the future ?

A: Melodies and full on apply best for the Israeli audience. It started here in Israel. What is a morning in a trance party without melodies ?
