Q: How, why & when did you guys start to produce music?

A: We started about ten years ago, we borrowed a Roland D-20 from a classmate, then followed up with computer samples and started buying some equipment. We used to make industrial hardcore music, like electronic body music. Thats why our sounds is so heavy. For a long time we only had a Roland W-30 Workstation and a Korg Wavestation and we made some uplifting trance/house. Then we found "goatrance" in late 94 and fell completely in love with the music.

Q: Why do you make Goa-Trance?

A: Well its simply the best dance music around. Used to be better though...We have made all kinds of dance music but we find the 145 bpms the best speed and we simply love the energy. Trance music at its best is unbeatable. We dont consider our music to be pure "goatrance" anymore though...sometimes we simply call it dance music.

Q: How Would you describe Goa music in a few words?

A: Well it used to be powerful, melodic, sexy, psychedelic, over the top, spiraling, fantastic, kicking, harmonic, ugly, thoughtful, inspiring...etc just like the best in life, like a kick, like a rush, this was the feeling in goa in 96-97 but now we are too old hehe (25...) to feel that rush anymore...the only times we get rushes are when we´re staning on a stage and a 1000 people are screaming and dancing like crazy to our music.

Q: Where do you guys get your inspiration?

A: From life, parties, music, movies etc...We dont listen much to trance music nowadays, we mainly get our influences from other kinds of music. We have made some new tracks that sound like industrial disco music...trance music is disco to us really hahaha only more modern...so we sometimes say we make "freak disco music", as well as dance music hehe. But ultimately we get inspiration from the last party we went to and we go down the studio and try to make the sound of the best tracks we heard on the dancefloor...and since we all have been using psychedelics the music always sound weird in our ears, and the music from our studio thus comes out weird too...simple really...What you can hear in our tracks is what we hear on the parties, only if you heard the same tracks we heard in a party it would sound totally different...

Q: What is your favourite track of Battle Of The Future Buddha's?

A: Always the last track we made, if we were happy with it...For now its probably a new track called "Örebro Freak Factory" which is fucking industrial and extremely hard even though it has a melody that, if it was played with a different sound could fit in a commercial track...we always like strong melodies mixed with a lot of noise...Other good tracks that stood out over the years are Filoti, Neuroglider (which is sometimes called Tigerhill, there is a mixup...) Tranceportamental, Leave the World Behind, Domestic Bliss and new ones called Demonoiser and Shining Pigs.

Q: What's your favorite Goa Group ,Album, Top 5 Goa Tracks?

A: Probably Hallucinogen. Its impossible to list any tracks, but good artists are also Juno Reactor, Nick Taylor, Psycho Disco and all the unknown great artists who never got any attention but who made some pretty fantastic music over the years and you never knew who they were...respect.

Q: Is it hard to produce music with 4?? Don't you guys have conflicts when you make music?

A: Lol...(laughing out loud) well we always fight in the studio. But usually it is me (David) or Magnus who makes the most part of the track and then the others fill in whats missing or do a remix or the final mixing or whatever, add bits and pieces, remove something. Our creative process is very chaotic, just like our studio that always is a hell of a mess and sometimes we do nothing but fight and wrestle, drool and make weird noises...its getting better with age though...and we always say what we think, like hey thats shit take that away or I´ll kill you, or hey thats really wicked lets keep that...

Q: What do you think of the Goa-scene at the moment?

A: Completely dead. There is no energy left in the scene, at least not that we have noticed. It has to do with the situation in Sweden I suppose, there used to be lots of clubs back in 95, 96,97 but now the cops are stopping all the good parties, so we have to go underground and make outdoor parties in the summer. They are the best parties so we dont complain but it would be nice to go to clubs in the winter as well. As for the situation in Goa its absolutely boring, we heard this year was the worst ever, but even last year the "goa-spirit" wasnt there anymore, people arent much into strong psychedelic music like ours, they prefer easy standard absolutely boring happy trance. The people that arent into psychedelics call our music "mushroom music" as if there would be something wrong with it!!?? Mushrooms rock...Theres some nice things going on in Greece and Portugal, the scene is more fresh there and more alive. People havent had any bad trips yet so its more filled with energy...

Q: What are your future projects?

A: Well...as a matter of fact no record label is willing to release our music so we have started our own label, called Schlabbaduerst ReKkords and we will release our first compilation CD with only psychotic music from Uppsala, the city we live in in Sweden, with ourselves and various sideprojects with peole like Ka-SoL, Subcouds etc...The first CD will be strong, hard, dark and psychedelic and it will be followed up with another CD that is more morning music, softer and more melodic, but still psychedelic for sure...Then we will make a new full-length CD with only brand new BotfB music and then one with Ka-SoL as well. Check our homepage out in a few weeks and you will find out how to order it :)http://m1.182.telia.com/~u18200010/Buddhas.htm In terms of music, our music is getting more extreme, harder, more industrial and even more psychedelic, and we like to use influences from all kinds of music, like we sampled the old soul-hero Curtis Mayfielf in one track and used it. Sounds like someone is turning on a radio with some completely different music in the background. We will also try to make some electro, jungle, dub and house cause we love all kinds of electronic music thats groovy and danceable.

Thanks a lot from all the Goa people community, and ... give us more great stuff as soon as you can ;-)!!

Thank you Anoebis. Keep dancing.
