Review:

Wow!!! This Cd definitely worth a review (i only review cds i loooove). It

comes from 3D vision...created by Cristof (ex-Transwave) the most active label

in French Trance.

All the tracks are from France except Wizzy Noise from Greece.

There's 3 OUTSTANDING tracks in this compilation (3,4,7). The best is for sure

Goldfinger from Absolom. Fat bass like X-Dream And incredible squizzy

sounds...at the end when the sonic fury comes you can hear a little gril

afraid And shouting....what a sensation!!!

The Wizzy Noise is 3iincredible.....lot of dark chorus very dark And

frightening.....awesome!!!!

The Deedrah is harder to understand but after 10 listened you are addicted..:)

Elixir And Three Point Turn And Yumade are done for parties for sure!! I

already heard them in a Paris party And they makes you move your ass!!

The rest is not my taste...as always in compilation there's few tracks

deceiving..:(

That CD worth every $ you'll put to get it!!! 8/10

Yeah wicked allround. The first track E Motion is quite unlike anything I have

heard before. the other track by Christof -gold finger is just short of

amazing, two slow bits then it all goes crazy. when I first heard this song I

was at a Christof gig and I had to go and ask him what it was because it got

right under my skin!! Wizzy noise is always dark and stompy and the rest, well

I will leave it up to you!

This is more like it! Nice powerful pumping tunes, not to over the top, but

still POUNDING!!! The first two tunes are belters and it doesn't stop there.

All the tracks are strong enough to warrant a listen. I haven't heard 'Smoking

Kangeroos' cos it's not on the vinyl (annoying!!!) but I'm sure with a name

like that, it's a cracker aswell 8/10

The 3 Turn track is very good. Absolum absolutely rocks. But this is

psychedelic techno, and pretty much sounds like any other psy-tech release

(Heavy Machinery, the last half of Distance To Goa 8, etc). Perhaps it needs

e or acid or something, because this all sounds too synthetic/chemical for my

liking. There's a lot of data here, to be sure: you can't process it all in

real-time the first time through. Also, I think there's rather too much bass

in the equalization. Tentatively I'll give it 7/10 but I haven't really

decided yet.

VERY GOOD TRACKS from ELIXIR (diffrent from their old stuff), Systembusters and

ABSOLUM. The album is not good and not bad, some tracks are excellents and

others really sucks (Three Point Turn, Deedrah). I don't know what's the new

"Three Point Turn-o-Mania" but this group don't know how to make a vibe. Their

music leads nowhere and they makes no grooves or special rise-ups. If you're

looking for 3D Vision sound-like, look for the new compilation "Lunar

Civilisation" on Moon Spirits Records. Good work from Christof...8/10

Great stuff here. Similar to Serial Killaz (tech trance) but I

like this stuff especially Yumade, Systembusters and the DJ Maël And Manitu

track really kicks 9/10.

quite an amazing compilation here.. (released in 1999 btw) great kick and deep

crunchy bass on most tracks...very dark material (Absolum's 'Goldfinger'

anyone?), with 2 more 'experimental' tracks by 3turn and Deedrah

(psy-jungle...pretty strange..i usually hate dnb but this one grew on me) 9/10

Hum ? Not too similar to Serial Killaz, this has absolutely no industrial

feeling to it. This is all pretty dark with a pounding bass, quite well done.

Emotion is kinda cool, but has no direction. SystemBusters is cool, after that

an amazing track by Wizzy Noise, their best I think, with a great atmopshere,

and a killer melody. I don't really like the 3.turn track, but Deedrah's

experiment is good. I like Yumade, hoping a lot from their upcoming album. 8/10

The first 4 tracks are really dancefloor crackers!!

Track number one is very original and indeed ultra high frequency, and

therefore the best on this compilation.

Worth buying.

Goldfinger.. Need I say more? That track by it self is probably worth the cost

of this compilation.. Man what an unbelievable track! That's the kind of

goatrance I've been looking for. Such extreem power with great rythm and

sounds all the way! 9/10 for this comp. Perfect!

Elixir-great way to start off this album. That part that feels like a rocket

flying by your head. You know...super cool. Wizzy Noise, something very

special here. Some super dark, really deep bass, darK stuff. Some tracks are

not that good, but the ones that are really kick ass.

I just wanna say that I listened to this CD when I was walking through the

city, and when Goldfinger was playing I intentionally missed my bus and went

about 2-3km on foot so the loud engine noise inside the bus wouldn't interfere

with my breathtaking sonic experience... Btw. that was, like, the 10th time i

was listening to that track!

And I didn't feel weight in my legs at all!!! Cool, huh? ;)

More of an experiemental VA from the times when full-on and other ebm genre influences started streaming into our psytrance. Overall too noisy and techno-influenced whilst having a couple of notable tracks. Only reason to even bother digging this up and commenting is this timeless masterpiece of a driving cyberpunk track.

There's also the wizzy noise and absolum tracks which are nice, but otherwise this release is not worth a recommendation.

"Can anyone stop the mechanical mayhem?"

I think you will discover exactly where it is stopped with this compilation.  This was from the pre-millenium days of 3D vision and let's be honest it sounds a little dated.  That said there is some goodness found here.

Nomad & Absolum team up for a hallucination that is constantly evolving.  The sound picture is kind of limited, but it's not bad.

The Systembusters (GMS + Lotus Omega) get pretty drippy and psychedelic.  Sure the track pretty much repeats the same loop over and over again, but who's counting?

Wizzy crafts a dark track and one that I think holds up the best.

Goldfinger is electric and crackling energy and just as quickly is broken down.  A little heavy on the scream sample, but not a deal breaker.  No, that comes next.

Insert deal breaker.

Clearly 3.Turn did not use any means necessary to make a deep track.  More like just enough to get by.

Zergshake is just noises amidst a kick and bassline.

Deedrah's track was different, but hardly in an engaging way.  Some drum n bass and dub along with some trance into a weird mixture.  Don't need to hear that again.

Black Sun was consistently boring and then there was the Kangaroo.  Oh, the f*cking kangaraoo.

*hits blunt*

"Dude...if you get out of the shower all clean and shit...how does your towel get dirty?"

That track is terrible and goes nowhere.  It's so slow and makes me want to ask questions like that.  Don't do drugs kids.

Wow did that fade quickly.  You can actually pinpoint the moment where the compilation went from interesting to GTFOH.

For me, 20+ years later, only 3 tracks withstood the test of time: Elixir - E-Motion, Wizzy Noise - Twisted Love and Absolum - Goldfinger.

Wizzy Noise - Twisted Love & Absolum - Goldfinger are just good, tracks I like to hear again but nothing more.

However, Elixir - E-Motion is a masterpiece, one of the best psytrance tracks I ever heard. I still listen to it very regularly. It has a creativity and drive that are unmatched. One can actually hear the joy and fun there was while making the track. An unbelievable soundscape combined with this very sophisticated drive. I once heard it on a party back in the days, chock full of XTC, and it is one of the best memories I have of this period. Elixir knew what he was doing, what effect it has played full on. I knew it already through this compilation when I heard it on the party, I fell in love with it straight away and frankly I can not understand that other psytrance lovers don't hear this. I can not emphasise enough what a masterpiece this is.
