Review:

Fantastic!!!Battle of the future buddhas is a Scandinavian group and this is

their first album. One of the kind...a killer!!!When i first heard this cd i

was shocked.I wasn't expected something so good and something so diferent. Now,

after 2 years, i still believe that this album deserves a place next to

AstralProjection's-Trust in trance, in other words a place to the best

psychedelic album released ever.Starting from the beginning, outro is preparing

you of what is going to happen next, with a small introduction (2.10).Then the

war begins!Alien melodies, distorted samples, funky beats, and 142+bpm kicking

till the last track. All the tracks are above great including the last track

which is ambient...10/10!

This album rulezzzz!!! I bought it 2 days ago and it's already in my TOP-3!!!

Really wonderfull!! It's hard, it's extremely psychedelic and very melodic

(altough the most souns are pretty dark...) And there are also 3

(=>3,5,6)songs that are really hypnotic, when you hear those you just fly into

another dimension, you don't feel yourself on earth anymore!!! Best songs:

1,2,3,4,5,6,7&9!

Lord of the dance is "only" mediocre!! For that boy from Sweden, just buy this

album on the site of Boom! Records!

I was expecting for something better by reading the reviews above ... I can't

say that's a bad album, but I don't like the style ... I find melodies really

strange by moments ... but that's quality sounds, so I advice you to listen to

it before buying it ... the Tracks I like are Tracks 3 and 9, and I find Tracks

4,5,7 too repetitive ... I received this album from BooM! Records at the same

time than Quadra : Digital Stimulant, and was expecting to

listen to a good Twin Sharkfins and a bad Quadra album (cause I didn't know

Quadra) ... the fact is that I find Quadra album

a MUCH BETTER full-on psychedelic album than Twin Sharkfins :-) Rating : 4.5/10

I bought this album expecting something really good but after a few listens

decided that it was a bit too strange, repetitive and strangely noisy for my

ears but each to their own I guess. The last track was quite good though. 3/10

Beware: if you dont like twistednoizycrackingwobbling sounds, don't go further.

If your ears can stand the run and if you brain is prepared for it,

ok....else...don't even think about it! It's very very psychedelic everywhere.

Whatever can be the focus you want to have while listening to this record,

sound is everywhere...you can't escape it. By the way, the tracks are quite

all the same, but it's not especially boring.

Boom strikes here. 7.5/10.

Well, I finally picked up this album after the rave reviews over it. I put it

in my prized stereo system for a listen, and it wasn't that great. When I

listen to psy-trance, I listen for musicality as well as quality, and this

just makes any system sound BAD! Sure it's psychedelic, and hard, and dark,

etc... but as for musicality, I think the artist has lost something. You can

still have psychedelic trance without sounding WEIRD, like this albums does.

If you like weird, almost experiemental stuff, this is for you. 3/10

Twin Sharkfins is energetic, hard and quite melodious at times. There are many

good tracks, but the peak is reached in the middle of the album with Tigerhill

(One of the greatest goa songs I've heard! The real name is Neuroglider, but

there was a mixup) and Leave The World Behind. I also like Transportamental

especially. The last song sounds like a mix between goa, new instrumental and

ambient and has very nice melodies.

Really scandosound but feels like it's going nowhere most of the time. Song 6

and 8 go somewhere and then you see what they are capable of. Very strange

album, weak and strong at the same time. The producing is terrible, it sounds

a bit like 22100 on Winamp. The sound is just too wide and lacks really strong

basslines or an otherwise positive side. Really weird producing style. Apart

from the producing the songs variate from appalling to uplifting. I'd give a

5/10 . Don't expect this to be in my favourites. Just buy Wizzy Noise or

Quadra!

This album is a brainwasher for sure...! I recently got this and only listened

tot it once in its entirety, but I don't need any more listens to tell me this

is great!!

Alien melodies, pounding kickdrums!! Yes, this is very very psychedelic and it

rocks! All tracks are great, from the dark intro called Outro (witty isn't

it?) it progresses into the pounding track 2 ... goes on and on until track 9

which is a dark sounding ambient like track. This one is great. 8,5/10 from me

Great album.. Fast, Furious and Wicked trance... The whole album is amazing

from start to finish... And i like how the first track is called "Outro"

Perfect name for a track, it's like the calm before the storm...

Great work guys :-) And if you want to hear another great track for these

guys check out "Adrenachrome" on BooM!'s Psychoactive Scandosounds 2...

Awesome track...

10/10 Don't pass this album up!!!!

Very hard and strange album... I can understand why the advices are so splitted

up on this page ranging form great to annoying. Some sounds are the wierdest

I've ever heard, along with Pleiadians. In fact, sometimes you get the feeling

they're not even comming from your speakers!!! I guess it's a question of

taste. If you're more into cheezy israelian trance... then run away and never

come back!!!! (just kidding) but there are good chances you'll never like

this, but if wierd and hard is what you want, then this is the one for you!!!

And also I must say: some albums need more listening to to like them. I didn't

like botfb either at first, but after a few listens I find it's great!!! 8/10

(or 3/10 if you're into cheezy stuff)

hmm... pretty good. for background music, at least. i find that it's so

repetitive and unengaging that it doesn't hold my attention. i especially like

track 8, though. 5/10

I can't believe I wasted money on this album. All of these people that

seemingly had good taste in music must have gone looney. This is just

discordent noise. No wonder it isn't listed as a "classic". The melodies

they try and spew out through your sound system is HORRIBLE to listen to!

It's feels like I'm listening to bag-pipes that are out of tune! I give it a

1/10 because at least they have the words "Future Buddahs" in the title.

I'm into the cheese and although this is not cheezy, I still like it a lot. It

certainly needs a few listenings. Very good melodies that are not-ennoyingly

repetitive (a bit). If I should have to compare it to another artist it would

be Tim Schuldt. 'The Other Way Around' reminds me of Tim Schuldts

'Animatronic'. Anyway tracks 4,5,6,7 and 8 are the best tracks on this album.

You could call, at least some of the tracks, psychedelic industrial, but that

term would lack the speed and full-on power of the insane, dark melodies. It's

does however give an indication, of the hard and darkside of this music, which

is over-all there. The songs are packed with sreechy sounds, and it's a

full-on noisyness that gives the songs the extra power. This album just simply

rocks, and it's one of the few good dark-melody releases that i know of. For

one into dark heavy shit, just run and buy if you can still find it, for

any-one who doesn't love this: you are missing out on one hell of a

dark-speedfilled-pumping-blasting-thundering release!!!!!!! 10/10

Waaaaw...This really is SOMETHING ELSE!!! But I do admitt it took some time to

grow on me: the production seemed very bad to me, but now I think it works

perfectly along with this hypnotising noisy atmosphere...Overall I wouldn't

advise this album to anyone who's searching for 'beauty' at all...but it

surely is fast, pounding, crazy, dark & exactly the oppisite of cheezy! If you

are searching for real MENTAL TRANCE, this is

it!TRANCETRANCEDANCEDANCETRANCE!My favorites are Transportamental (10/10)and

tracks 5,3,4,7... 9/10 for an innovation like this!

From 1/10 to 10/10...... I have listened to most of the tracks, and i ADORED !

Of course i can understand the people who didn't like it, because of the rough

aspect of certain sounds, but it's clear that this band has done Its sound,

whithout caring about any trend. They didn't try to please, they create their

own Trip, their own Happiness..... Excellent! I give it a 10/10 with no

hesitation.

AMAZING album...! This is real journey into chaos and psychedelic

dementia....This is easily one of the most psychedelic albums ever...Melodies

are simply stunning and other songs have strange construction of psychedelic

and minimal at the same time...Such a strange, perfect album...Brilliant ! All

songs are stunning but the best are : TIGERHILL ( ! ), NEUROGLIDER, LEAVE THE

WORLD BEHIND ( ! ), TRANCEPORTAMENTAL, THE OTHER WAY AROUND, LORD OF THE

DANCE....10/10

Truly goa style, trascendental melodies, total mainstream of astral voyages,

sounds, coming out of the loud speaker, going very deply into your brain.

Battle of the future Buddhas - Twin sharkfins (BooM! records, 1998)

2 - Life In The Trenches Of Hyperspace - 08'05"

3 - Tigerhill - 08'29"

4 - Neuroglider - 09'00"

5 - Leave The World Behind - 08'00"

6 - Tranceportamental - 09'16"

7 - The Other Way Around - 08'09"

8 - Lord Of The Dance - 10'27"

9 - Marsmellow (Miditation Mix) - 07'16"

Dark classic from the swedish band. First of all it was made in 1998 and i think it was one of the most innovative psy i heard at that time, at 1st listen i was amazed and shocked by this evil music, dark and melodic at the same time, weird and twisted as possible. If some melodies sound wrong it's perfectly normal and intentional!

Tranceportamental, Tigerhill are spectacular, and Leave the world behind is sensational! Those tracks are in the same style, twisted with unpredictable melodies. Neuroglider is amazing in another way, softer, more hypnotic and tribal, less melodic, i like it a lot. Lord of the dance is the most intense psytrance track i have ever heard, it makes me perspire so much the climax is incredible, too bad the production is bad, it makes ur ears suffer. Battle of the future Buddhas is one of those artists who you immediatly recognize their sound, and this is one of the most psychedelic trance ever made!

Psychedelic

Weird

Enthusiastic

Unpredictable

8/10.
