While TIP Singles 2 is not an amazing comp. I think that it fares better than

the two out of ten posted above. The standout track for me is track 3 by

Laughing Buddah. It's a classic and I'd buy the album just for that song.

The Hallucinogen track is good (although I like the Lysurgeon remix better on

the Phosporescent comp.) and I also like the deviant track and the infinity

project track. For some reason Synchro just doesn't do it for me and I don't

care for his two tracks. I have the vinyl version of this compilation which

is missing tracks 1,4, and 9 so I can't comment on those tracks. My Rating:

5/10.

Even if it's not as good as the yellow or blue comp, there are some good tracks

here : Universal Mind, Karma, Hyperspaced, Soothsayer, STC. I was disapointed

by Doof's track, which is not very good. I don't get the two tracks from

Synchro. 6.5/10

This is even more boring than the first compilation. I don?t know how many

compilations the opening Psychopod track ?Universal Mind? has cropped up on

and it?s boring. There?s nothing so definitive here at all - it?s all rather

adequate but hardly like TIP can do. This just makes you sit and listen -

there?s no real desire to dance madly to any of these tracks. Come on TIP,

you can do infinitely better than this of a way of showcasing your music. In

a word - BORING.

The most impressive track on earth !! hallucinogen - soothsayer ! It's so

powerfull ! if you listen carefully you'll listen tons of details that you

wouldn't notice with a simple superficial listen . And i swear the more you

listen to it the more you like it , i don't know how the hell he did , but he

find maybe the greatest sounds possible , it's not technically very impressive

or very orignal but it's about the way uses them! And the talent is to be able

to make a LOT with very few , cause i mean you can always buy lots of analog

synth and play with them , i mean it's a matter of equipment then , but here

it's different . Just the bass for eg , in most of the goa tracks now most of

the bass are getting very similar and comon , here it's a total inovation , he

used a resonant filter to make tones! And well there's also the melodies ,

mindblowing , he switches on from powerfull synth riffs with melodies that

makes you fly(in your mind!) to distorded lead with simple b!

ut GREAT melodies . And if you're an attentiv listenner , you'll notice that

when the more the track evolves the higher it brings you , and as the track

evolves you fell the tension and emotions growing in you , the climate is

getting tensed and strong , he suddenly break all the drums and blow your mind

with some beautifull sweeps and that makes you think it's getting to an end

(unfortunatly!) but what an end...he basicaly kept the best for the end in

fact! but i won't tell you about it =)) .

In the same kind of goa , you have spiritual antiseptic , which not as good but

still great .

I like this compilation very much!! OK,despite the two syncro trax are boring

and not really unforgettable, I like all the other ones!

The track from psychopod is great and complexe, as always. The one from laughing

buddha is nice, a little basic, but nice. The track from Doof is a killer

one!Do you hear the intro?oh my god ya should hear it loud!!.

The track hyperspaced from tip is on their album, so it's sad, even if the

track is excellent (the best one of Feeling Weird probably). The track from

Hallucinogen is also a killer.Such a great melody...yes, a killer track.

The one from the deviant is a little repetitive but with a good melody that

make you do not get bored while listening to it, and last one, from snake

thing is basic.

7.5/10

It is my opinion that this is a compilation that needed two decades to ripen.

Like your sister. BTW is she seein' anyone? Can you put in a good word for me?

A lot of people seemed to have missed the boat when it first came out somehow labeling it boring. Call it goa saturation if you must...or perhaps too much weed. But this is the definition of psychedelic goa trance. This is the sh*t you're paying Anjuna and Zion $20 for. Without the two month shipping time. Tracks like Psychopod's Universal Mind is the shiny example. An absolute stormer of a track. Karma bounces and races, making me forget everything else Jeremy has done for 15 years. S.T.C. has that relentless goa melody which should appeal to everyone. Hyperspaced isn't bad and sure the original version of Soothsayer isn't as good as the Lysurgeon mix, but, but,...Hallucinogen?

You wanna sh*t all over volume 3? Fine I'm on board. But if you and I see this at a second hand shop I'm gonna hip check you into easy listening so I can get my mitts on this. Nothing personal.

Yep, the best of the TIP Singles compilations. Kicked ass some 15 (err, make that 17) years ago when I bought it and still does. Especially Laughing Buddha's Karma which honestly is better than everything else LB did, combined.

OK, so the Doof track never really clicked with me, and Synchro's tracks are more or less "OK". And Snake Thing is Aussie weirdness galore but that was hardly a surprise :D
