Label: HOM-Mega

Date: 2002

Track listing:

02. 08'15" Electro Panic

03. 09'01" Avalanche

04. 07'44" Step By Step

05. 07'41" Scratch

06. 07'28" Heart Ache

07. 07'59" Unusual

08. 06'58" Crystal Blue

09. 03'41" Bomb Creator

Review:

Starts with a calm track to get you inside(?)

Some beats, some club, kinda nice flow tho.

The next track, Electro Panic, I've heard alot

of people talking about this track. The sample? or

the guy who says 'electro panic' is cool and good.

Good track over all, not typical Yahel cheese. The

next track is typical Yahel cheese, or should I call

it club? Anyway, no doubt the guy can make good melodies.

The fourth track is again not typical Yahel. Groovy track

with bongas and some hard lines. The next track takes us

back to the cheese. And this is just too cheesy for me.

Track 3 is much better cheese imo.

Next track; yet another more groovy track. It seems like

he jumps back and forth with cheese and not-cheese.

Track #7; Is in the more cheesey direction. You know the

Yahel-sound. The 8th track is bad. Slow, simple and technoish.

And the last track is better to not even talk about. So let us

not. It's bad I'm telling you. So...What does this CD get?

Final Verdict: 6.5/10

You hear right jeto

some excellent stuff indeed in this one

come inside is a great intro and a killer atmosphered track.

Avalanche is very melodic but in a good way, with a clsassy morning track

feeling to it.

Step by Step is a killer SBK oriented percussion & groove track but much better,

also a classic.

& you should catch the killer electro panic(it's DUVDEV singing the title)in a

party to appreciate it the most.

So many people are overly concerned with labels. Listen to it for gods sake. If

you like it, say why constructively. If you don't like it, do the same.

Otherwise, what's the point? You're just disturbing shit for the sake of it.

Well, I have the feeling that Yahel wanted to do exactly what so many others

are doing!! He tried to combine more rythmic elements with rather fluffy

melodies, and that combination isn't good!! Electro Panic is great, but that's

the only track on the cd!! Yahel, please, continue to make full on melodic

stuff like you made on your last albums, it's much better!!! (maybe (??) not

for parties, but for listening!!) Bom Shankar!

Yahel rocks! He is one of the few who continues producing high quality melodies

on the psy scene. In my opinion this is a must have album. For those who call

this music cheesy house I would recommend to calm down and become more open.

This is the best Yahel album, no doubt. 1st track is really very good, nice

percursions, tribal drums, a progresive Israeli track, nice sample too. 2nd

track with Infected Mushies is very nice, better listen in a big sound system

or in a good headphone,hehehe... Powerfull effects and the Mushies spirit. 3rd

track is maybe the best track here, power, happy, morning, BUT NOT CHEESE!!! A

real energy sunshine!! Thanx YAHEL, this track rules!! 4th is veeeeerrrrryyyyy

goooood too, progressive, groovy, very danceable, one of my favourites too.

5th track is not my cup of tea, clubby and cheesy... 6th track progressive

influenced too, some tribal percussions, makes me happy... first time i

listened it i didnt like , but now i love it... 7th is not one of my

favorites, a little clubby... 8 and 9 i dont like (yet?). Tribal maker could

be in this album, it is a very good track too... Well, the production is

EXCELLENT, WOOOOWW, i can hear every sounds clearly...

Like every Hom-mega productions... THANX YAHEL & DJ EYAL!!

I like alot of Yahel's music, but this album sounds much too clubish for me.

Even though he does dance music, this album does not seem anywhere near as

psychedelic and deep as some of his other work. Did Erez work with him on this

or not? Some tracks are pretty cool, but not as driving and energetic as some

tracks on his other 2 albums before this one. Yahel has done better, but this

album is not bad.

I really love this cd. I don't know why Yahel suddenly changed his style but i

love the new style too.

If u get your hands on this disk, play Electro Panic & Scratch(best i

think)..........

anyway, Intelligent Life is still the best track of Yahel (and ever).

I'd give this cd 9/10 coz i think track 8 or 9 (don't remember) is not that

good.

wow alot of people hating on this album... too bad - i think the whole thing is

a work of art from beginning to end. Theres not one song i dont like, maybe i

like crystal blue a little less than the rest of them...but its never enough

to make me want to skip the song...I haven't heard any cheese so i dont know

what some of these people are talking about....and im the first to dislike

cheesy stuff...

It took me two listens all the way through to start to really like it... the

first time through i thought it was just pretty neat and only really liked

electro panic and step by step, but on further listens the subtlties come

out...As far as the album art goes.... i dont really make a connection with

the music inside with the art...but oh well its yahels album and he can do

whatever he pleases with it. all in all i say a 8/10 as standalone songs and

minus a point for the art (Because i think artwork should compell people to

get off their asses and buy it and instead of just keeping it on mp3...)

Yahel has completely changed his style in most of the songs in this album. He's

kinda Clubbish.Less Melodic but more percussions & effects. There are great

tracks right here.AVALANCHE is really gr8 (kinda Yahel's old style u

know).ELECTRO PANIC isn't ma style anyway but many ravers love it.It's

completely different.SCRATCH is good too.I think that Yahel was trying to

change most of his own style.Im ma own opinion, this album isn't that

good.Nothing compared to INTELLIGENT LIFE,VOYAGE,ISRAEL DREAMS,....

i didn't think much of this album at all.. yahel has lost the plot here imo...

2nd track is nice, but that even gives this album a lower rating, since that

is more im than yahel/././ mr. sherman, you missed the mark here big time.. i

would not recommend this one, and if you like the clubby sound, buy the green

house effect album with your money...

If you like new but old school goa trance releases ( not minimalist ) like Tim

Schuldt, Fractal Glider etc.. Yahel works great.

Fantastic sounds and more melodies here. Though it could have been more

aggressive and dynamic. Top class product. Is there a bit more melancholy

between notes?

Yahel, who always seems to be moving closer and closer to a more progressive

style of trance, seems to have taken a step back into the psytrance realm with

his new release. As to disappoint loyal Yahel fans,"Private Collection" is

chock full of his signature melodies carefully placed over funky beats that

are not remenescent of past releases .This amalgamation of the two produces a

solid sound and a makes for a killer album that is a must have for any fans of

Israeli psy trance.9/10

Haha, look at the cover - it's horrible! Seriously though, this is not really

psytrance so it should not be judged as such.

I've listened to this CD over and over again... and everytime I listened to it

I wondered "what the fuck was Yahel thinking about when he made this??" IMO he

surely wasn't thinking of making good music... This has NOTHING to do with his

other 2 albums which I found very good... First track is pretty good, but for

the others he seems to use the same sample-formula: he says a word, adds the

exact same effect in each track and then it's echoed from one speaker to the

other... Not impressive in one track, but when it comes over and over

throughout the album it gives you a headache!! And i don't know why everyone

says Electro Panic is good, IMO it's fucking horrible!!! as for the whole

cheese/club debate... I personally found this a lot less "cheezy" than his

first 2 albums, but making it sound less commercial and making it sound good

are 2 completely different things!! 3/10 VERY dissapointing...

Pretty dissapointing album from Yahel...I loved his first two albums but this

one just gets way too progressive and clubby...Those melodies are practically

gone, only few every once in a while and he does manage to bore you after a

while...Still, good tracks are : ELECTRO PANIC, STEP BY STEP, CRYSTAL

BLUE...6/10
