Review:

Hmm, It has been a while since my last review, But I'm back in business

after a long time to review my favourite album lately. Authentik might

be a new name, But the music beats most veterans easily. The style

ranges from minimalistic techno, To psytrance, dub, drum n bass and

more.

The album is devided in two parts. First six tracks are minimalistic

trance, The kind you hear from Midi Miliz, But sounds more evolved.

Sharp percussions, Pretty slow (Avarge 130bpm) and top notch sounds

that'll play with your mind and won't leave you untill stopped!

The other part is the more ambient/dub/dnb style. And it works damn

well! Especially my two favourite tracks on the album, Track 9,

Operatik. The most wonderful mixture of styles I've ever heard. Good

drum beats and the (like the 8bit warrior) piano, Then the opera voice

(male) blands in, With spooky hollywood strings around.. Wonderful!

My second favourite track is T11 - Air. That starts with wonderful Jimmi

Hendrix style bassline, And drums too... There's even a clarinet, To ser

you in the mood, And the right mood it is! Sounds like jewish folklore,

But not cheezy at all... This is very very psychedelic indeed! You get

those crazy twisted female chants... Amazing. There's no way on earth

one could expect that kind of stuff from a new non veteran artist (As

far as I know/concerned). If you manage to get hold of that album, Don't

miss it! Buy it! 100% pure psychedelica ride.

Great album indeed! And a very unusual decision to have two so drastically

different parts in the same release.

BTW, Authentik is part 3.Turn, so not really a new artist.

The begining (01-06) is Midi Miliz-like, that is very minimal, big rhythm &

noisy sounds everywhere. Perfect to kill the neighbours, but not psychedelic

at all! The rest (07-11) is more Psych-o-funky. Only this second part is

*really* psychedelic. sometimes it looks like late sixties Funk, sometimes

it's like thriller music, and sometimes it's like Dub !

My favourites: Operatik, The Horning, Air, Preamplified Dub...the whole second

part, actually. Special distinction to Operatik which will remind you of your

last visit in the purgatory...Aaaahahah!

So 5/10 for the first part, 8/10 for the second part.

very good album! it's 3.turn under a different name, so you know it will be

minimal, but it's not at all like "by any means necessary": this is much

groovier, with killer rhythm throughout. awesome production with lots of the

usual minimal noises. maybe not too original, but still very enjoyable. 8/10

Very heavy and industrial until they get bored of it, way after anyone else

would, then they diverge into random musical styles. As a whole, I find this

record as annoying as 3.Turn, but some tracks are worthwhile for 4 minutes at

a time. 4/10.

VERY GOOD ALBUM!

This is a NEW style, mixture between pure monoton techno and psychedelic trance.

VERY nice indeed.

Source Unknown and Authentik are "new" artists with this sound. Absolutely

GREAT for the dancefloor. Very hard.

This is not music to listen to with lousy speakers. This is pure dancefloor

killers. Very driven music, melodies or standard basslines not needed here!

This album makes me smile! I can't sit still!

7/10 for the whole album, 9/10 for the new and hard style.

After the 3.turn album, I was expecting something equally different. While the

second half delivers, I find the vast majority of the first half to be utterly

derivative and irritating. I mean if you're gonna do minimal, use some

different sounds for god's sake! They make the same mistake that XV Killist

did on his album; they use the same exact sounds in each song! Solid is the

only track I actually like. But on to the second half. This is some really

cool experimental stuff! A lot of it is drum n bass beats slowed down to

100-120 bpm with ambient sounds floating around on top. A nice combination in

my opinion. I particularly like "Operatik" which has this killer (male!)

opera voice sample. It's almost kind of creepy. I can't really give a rating

to this album as a whole since its really two completely different parts. I

guess I'll give 3/10 to part 1 and 7.5/10 to part 2.

"I mean if you're gonna do tech-trance, USE SOME DIFFERENT SOUNDS for god's

sake!".....totally agreed with that statement (A10 and metal dust are killers

though) :)

Guest miss rose's musical wednesdays

as individual songs I really like these tracks, but i imagine that listenning

to the whole thing as an album would get a little boring (although i'm yet to

try), as has been noticed most of the songs use the same sounds...each track

on its own is really stomping however, and I especially liked metal dust and

airline. Any of these tracks would blow the heads off a dancefloor if dropped

at the right moment... The 2nd half is also pretty nice, but definitly nowhere

near the best stuff like this that I've heard. Overall this is a pretty nice

album, dj's will probably get the most out of it.

great album... although their track on the '9 pills' compilation is much

better... but i like this one very much ... lots of heavy mavhine sounds and

all this gives it an insane feeling... ( it reminds me of aphex twin -

classics but now in trance form, great) the second part as many say is more

experimental and it's very good too... nice one psychedelic rating : 7/10

i like the first have, probably anyone that likes minimal will. i don't care

much for the second part... pretty dull, pseudocreative. 6/10 for the cd.
