Review:

First Album of Boris Blenn And Michael Dressler as a Electric Universe.

This is one of the best psychedelic works ever. All tracks are rather

directed to electro-psychedelic style. First track "One Love" sound

like a music from atari, but there's something else, something so

psychedelic that You can't stop listen to it. "Out Of Time" outstanding

track with a hard beat And great melody. Also "Orange Night" And "Galaxia"

"Eqilibrio" is rather more acid one. Next track is from outer space

"Electronic Pulsation" little slower, more chilling. "Virtual Landscape"

another cosmic track, there is lack of words to describe what I feel when

I listen to it. "Visiting Venus" And "Nexus" are 2 light electro-ambient

tracks. So, I love this album. Not many artists can produce such melodic And

psychedelic compositions. B.Blenn can do it, he's a really multitalented

artist. He released 7 albums till today And 2 more are on its way. Get this CD

10/10

Amazing CD from that Genius mind-Boris Blenn,in collaboration with the

excellent Micky Dressler.I fell in love with this album just after I heard the

first tunes of "One Love".I think that "Visiting Venus" is the greatest

ambient track ever written. There are also other highlights-"Orange

Night","Virtual Landscape" and all tracks,of course.I love the mellow sound of

this cosmic melodies.I listen to this CD in a moonlit night, basking in the

darkness of my little room.Thank you, great masters!

Wow, this CD is cool. I can't believe this was produced in 1994/1995. Great

melodies, and I love the old school synth sounds! Definately one of my

favorites -- Orange Night, Galaxia, and Visiting Venus were my favorites.

Definately worth a good listen! I'm sure I'll bring this album out later down

the road to listen to again. No overwhelming effect or anything ground

shaking, just nice old-school synth trance. Some good P.A. effect for 1995.

8/10 YEAH BORIS!

The second best album (after Stardiver) by Boris Blenn. Melodic goa with cool

acid passages. The first song "One Love" is beautiful, but a little bit

repetive. The second track has cool acid melodies. Orange Night is phantastic,

particularly the flute (?) in middle of the track. Equilibrio has cool

drum'n'bass-beats and Equilibrio is a strong acid-track. Electronic Pulsation

is a track i didn't like, no cool melodies. Virtual Landscape is the entrance

to the ambient section. Bubbling tunes with a slow beat. Visiting Venus is

amazing, one of the best ambient track ever written, i agree with mikrozomme.

Nexus is a bit repetive, but OK. Overall a very good album, much better than

the disappointed "Devine Design"-Album. Rating: 8/10

hmm...really dont where to start...but i can start by telling that in 2002 u

can be rather amased by finding this classic in a little cd store i sweden..

i know i was...and in perfect shape also..i think that´s the most amazing

thing..there wasn´t a scratchon the cd..not even the cover who is made in

paper..

what to tell about the music..hmm...i listened thru it today and it hitted me

all the sudden...that it really sounds old...not old in a bad way ofcourse...

the first song has kind of the same melody trought the whole song...and it is

11 minutes so...

but still it amases me that i dont find it boring...not att all really...a very

VERY good track...nice work Electric Universe

also good ones are 3,6 and 9...but really ...this should be highlighted becouse

of the atmosphere throught the whole album...

i guess that this is very hard to find so i feel very happy to have this piece

of plastic=)

to all of u who out there: even if there is not much of the classic albums

left... i can say that goatrance will never die...not in a million years...

these melodies can still be found in your minds ...and that is not a bad

thing...

if u have the enormous luck to gind this or another "classic"...never EVER let

it go!!!!!

i bet to differ with the above reviews. out of all the electric universe albums

this is one of the worst ones. it's more repetitive and doesn't have the

"psychedelic" feeling i like... it's just techno. makes good background music

but doesn't hold my attention for long. another good aspect is, it's very

clean sounding... no cheese. i think track 3 is the best. i give it 6/10

One cool and classic 1995 ride! For those of us that aspire to the original Psytrance of 95-98 this is one of the "must know's".

I'd say the album has an overall typical mid-nineties trance sound. Not very complicated so if you like todays progressive you'll probably also enjoy this album for its quiter parts that, I think, works quite well as deep trance. Very simple, very repetitive, very mindwidening. If you like deep trance you know what I mean and this album will not dissappoint you. Check out for instance the last two minutes of Out Of Time and tell me you don't get hypnotized. Or the middle part of Galaxia. Or Equilibrio or all of Electronic Pulsation. I'm sure you get my drift. This is pure bliss for deep trance gems. The melodies EU rips out for you are so happy and mind uplifting and filling it's impossible not to follow the flow. And once on the ride, this is a 1st class ride.

Well, there are parts of this album I am not too crazy about. A song like Orange Night, for instance, has a mid section where not much is going on and the same goes for a couple of the other songs. Also I am not crazy about the heavy use of the 303 acidic synth sound that is used throughout the tracks. Don't get me wrong. At the right time it workes wonders. I just like that there is not an acid lead to pave the way so much of the time. Well, I guess any good album needs to also contain a challenge to the listener. It can't be all about seconds ;o)

So in conclusion, if you like 95-98 Psytrance this should be an album you'd wanna check out. As your can hear, I am not crazy about all the parts of all the tracks but I hear no fillers and if put on at the right time, I'm sure, each and any of these songs would rock my butt off! Dance or die.

This album is very very good, there are no bad tracks there and all tracks have emotional uplifting melodies, not like the later Electric Universe albums. you can notice that the album is old, the synths really sound old but that´s not a problem because the album is really a must. Best tracks on it are Galaxia, Equilibrio, Visiting Venus, Nexus, the res is just good old music. This album works very well when you are driving. Some guys on the good old reviews section rated this album with 10/10 but it isn´t, i think it is a 8 or 8,5/10.

Boris Blenn's second album after Paradise Connection named after his own name, and here he made few collaborations with Michael Dressler and it is great, morning, melodic goa trance album.

Yes, Stardiver is slightly better but this album has ELECTRONIC PULSATION, one of the smoothest and most cosmic songs I have ever heard. I like all of the tracks and they are all very well thought, especially music wise...9/10

I enjoy all the tracks, and if i check in iTunes, i find that "Orange Night" and "Electronic Pulsation" are the most played tracks. There is one track i am not too fond of, namely the last one, which has no focus, just drifts around with some silly pattern. No, i don't see the point in that one. The rest is classic goa trance in a style we haven't heard much else in!

I like the last track of the album, really dark stuff, visiting venus is alzo a very great ambient track,iám wondering why there aren´t other ambient tracks that sound like this. The newer albums of electric universe suck all but the first two have had a really uniquie sound that reminds me always on the beginning of autumn i mean august september.

Where/how did you get this album? It's not available anywhere I know to buy/order, or even download! Downloading is last resort for me, especially when it comes to something great or classic... but I can't even find this on amazon.co.uk or EBAY! Can anyone give any ideas?

it'll pop up to ebay/similar sometime soon.

This must be one of my favourite old school trance-cds, no madness or something, just floating, soft, peacefull, dreamy and positive music with here and there some nice acid! :)

Electronic Pulsation and One Love are perfect tracks! In fact Electronic Pulsation would be one of the best tracks to tell new people what goa trance is imo! :)

This is the exactly same comment I wanted to write for this unbelievable album! :P "Electronic Pulsation" and "One Love" are by far my two favorites tunes. No doubt: it's one of most-advanced albums in goa history. And, indeed, I'm still surprised when I'm thinking this album was created in 1995! The only thing that make me think about 1995 is maybe the repetitive melodies with a certain lack of variations, of rhythm during the tracks. But, except it, I don't remember any other stuff which sounds like it at the same period. I don't remember even actualy any spacey psy-ambient track like Nexus which reminds me a foretaste of Paradise! I ask myself if Electric universe aren't the forerunner of the "space goa" genre? And why? Because we can recognize some influences, some elements in Dimension 5 or Chi-a.d. releases.

We can also quite easily feel or imagine through the emotional and sometimes nostalgic atmosphere of "One Love" the quintessence of goa trance, the beginning of the "golden age" of the genre: definitely another time. :)

So, many comments are been already made, and I want to write down only three words for describing globally this album: SIMPLICITY-SPACEY-MELODY. Three elements combinated for the creation of a very rare psychedelic journey. :D

And, of course, the album is the demonstration that the psychedelic feeling don't appear necessarily through the intricacy!

Two nights ago I accidentaly popped this one into my CD ROM drive while I was just spendin' some free time on my computer...

I think the best way to describe this one is less is more. And that is in no way bad, as this has to be one of the most mellow and dreamy albums I own! I cannot say I am crazy about all the tracks, but what I can say is that I seem to appreciate the exact same tracks as most other reviewers: the classic opener One Love, the beautifully crafted and acidic Out Of Time, the more uptempo -with an amazing melody kicking in at 02:27- Orange Night, and the gorgeous Electronic Pulsation!

The first two track must be my favs here, though- the melodies Boris rips on 'em are THE catchy old school melodies, and if dreamy, repetitive, space age goa trance is your thing, then go no further! Electronic Pulsation jogs along closely as my third pick here, with an equally catchy (but darn simple :) ) melody to envelop my mind... Amazing stuff! Far from the more psychedelic sound of for example the T.I.P. Records crew, this is more toned down, not as agressive or "mad", if I may, but rather focusing on making mind drifting and floating atmospheres!

As much as the above mentioned tracks leave me impressed, other numbers such as Galaxia, Equilibrio and Virtual Landscape don't do much for me... And I find Nexus an average piece of ambient music, while Visiting Venus occupies the other side of the pole, and stands as one of Electric Universe'e finest downtempo works yet!

So, to sum it all up- there are no bad tracks here, and the good ones are so good that they make this one more or less a safe purchase! Especially for Electric Universe fans. The tracks I don't really dig kind of break the album's otherwise wonderful flow in my ears, but when a track like Out Of Time kicks in, I could care less!!! Though I find his Paradise Connection album better, as far as Blenn's albums under the Electric Universe name go, it hardly gets better than this! I'd give it an 8/10!

sound

like a music from atari

 old analogic feeling , yes some sounds seem as they are comnig straight from an old 8 bit ...

I like melodies and atmosphere. Very "goaholic".

I put this album midway among IFO (sharper sounds) and Juggeling alchemist (more silky)

If you like the previous two, you'll like this one too

Electric universe - one love (1995)

As a first electric universe this directly hits the top. The first track also

named 'one love' is an euphoric experience. The rest of the album is

a recommendation for morning trance lovers who like a 303 pattern once and while.

You can hear the first crystal clear melodies which boris will use

later more in his side ambient project "galaxy" starting in 1998, 2004 etc...

I always start with track 2 and end with 'one love'. I prefer the track at the end

of the album, but that's my taste and choice :)
