minutes later my girlfriend i bought the new cd in the chill out

area...probably one of the best purchases we've made in a while...i'd have to

say that gladiator and at the end of a rainbow are my favorite tracks...i

really like juice by gms as well...great cd...10/10!!!

GMS always guarantee high quality production and you know you can relax and

leave the CD in until the end without having to get up and skip some awful

track. Indeed this CD follows a typical GMS sound but more psychedelic / epic.

Better than the Growly Family. GMS were always the sample kings with some

excellent samples included in this CD. "At the end of the rainbow" with

wonderful etheral chorus samples and the excellent "Gladiator" with that

wonderful ancient singing from the movie and various samples, excellent

swirling arpeggiator. It is always appreciated a good movie tribute track.

Samples have been criticised on this board but when used correctly they can

enhance a track and assist with identification. Although yes, when obvious

samples are used such as the matrix samples they can wreck a track. It is

always a rush to watch an obscure manga video and hear a sample used. So

artists, please be creative and not obvious. Favourites : Gladiator, Zak &

Kracht, At the end of the rainbow. Juice by GMS (with retro sounds) :- 4 good

tracks on 1 CD, that is pretty good in these times

I do't understand all of the people complainig about the artists, espacially

GMS. I must say that altohugh this album is not as outstanding as many of my

other favourites (i.e. the very perfect "Twisted" from mr Simon

Halluciogenius...), still it is by far the best I've heard from GMS uptill

now(lets' omit the good stuff by 1200 Mics). This CD works both on dancefloor,

giving the people some really full-on stompin' experiences, and at home (I

also suggest to play it while driving a car... ;]). Get it ad You probably

wo't be dissapoited. For GMS fans a must-have... I wonn't go into details

about the tracks - check them out 4 yourself... Best tracks - Spliffpolitics

and my beloved Juice By GMS!

Really enjoyable album, this... GMS delivers the goods as usual. Not especially

much new in here, perhaps a tad more melodies tha earlier. Track no.7 and

track no.8 are my favourites, but there are no really bad tracks in here. 8/10

bom!

jeez, i didnt buy this one for a while because of negative reviews.. but i am

sure glad i have this one now... gms has delivered a really good album,

amazing production and nice sounding tracks... love at the end of a rainbow,

especially after that break where the growly bass comes in, cool visualization

sounds in that one.. the whole album is amazingly produced and very dj

friendly, this is one on which a dj can really tweak the eqs, so good fun;

awesome at times; beautifully mastered and prduced; and luckily no ear

damaging sqeaks which is what usually annoys me with gms... in short a really

good album, maybe not very experimental, but hey why fix something when it

ain't broke,, go listen to zorba or 1200 mics if you want different style

gms... cheers rate this one very high.......

Very Good psychedelic album...Yes, they do tend to use the same sounds and

rhythms but they are managing pretty well whole their discography

actually...This album is catchy, crazy, lunatic and druggish like all stuff

from GMS anyway...best on album : GLADIATOR, I'M ON MARS, HYPERACTIVE, AT THE

END OF THE RAINBOW and JUICE ( Where main theme from REQUIEM FOR A DREAM was

used, amazing work )...So all in all pretty good : 7.5/10

So this is the first album from GMS which i listened to. And I really liked it.

I was listening to it in my room and started dancing. All the sounds are

killers and can make you dance! Spliffpolitics and at the end of a rainbow is

something veryyy beautiful. I've heard them also in destination goa, but i

don't think that they're the same! I give this a 10/10

Artist: GMS

Title: No Rules

Label: Spirit Zone Recordings

Date: May, 2002

01. Life After
02. Gladiator
03. No Rules
04. I'm On Mars
05. Hyperactive
06. At The End Of A Rainbow
07. Spliffpolitics
08. Juice by GMS
09. Overdose

"Well don't worry things hardly ever f*ck up around here."

No Rules? Really. None? Gotta have some rules. Let's start with no sleeping with your sister. Otherwise you get kids that look like this:

Holy sh*t! That's gotta be photoshopped. That is either the worst case of hydrocephalus or the character that got cut out of the Simpsons with the...you know they had big brains...telekinesis. Ah, you had to be there.

Some people argue that GMS hasn't evolved and their sound is virtually the same. Not me. I would argue that it has gotten progressively worse and is directly proportional to the amount of f*cks they give. I mean it's up to about 9.5 on the eye roll scale isn't it? As they have gotten on in years their sound has become predictable and non challenging. But that's not how they always were. The first two albums were pretty psychedelic and worth your time. As the years went on and they fully embraced their full-on sound they became parodies of themselves. To the point that their sound was done better then they did it.

This album is now 14 years old and back then minimal was on the way out so the masses were poised for an album to explode onto the scene. And this one did. When I came back to it and I heard Life After and its infectious groove I was dancing in my chair. Maybe this album was more awesome than I remembered. But then something happened that always happens when listening to a GMS album.

I got bored with it. Really quickly. Now if I'm being honest the acid in At The End of a Rainbow is still appealing and Spliffpolitics annoyed the sh*t outta me. Aside from the first track the rest were just...meh. So unfortunately they didn't continue their streak of good albums. Matter of fact this may be the exact moment...the precise album where GMS began their descent into irrelevance. Damning physical evidence.

Can I get a courtesy flush? Damn.
