Really well produced CD with hints of Dino scattered through it. No real dance

floor stompers except for Vexed Generation (which Domino uses in her set) but

warming up numbers with plenty of good samples. This Cd is a pleasure to have

in my collection.

dark, evil, industrial sounding. heavy and hard, and very jumpy cd (doesn't

really flow at all for me). personally i hate it, i mean what's the point of

coming out with such a terrible cd at all? 2/10

awesome disc! i guess it's not everyone's cup of tea (look at the review

above), but at least this person described it correctly: dark, evil,

industrial, blah balh balh... so if you like that kind of trance, this is

perfect for you: high level of production, original track structure, great

sounds. in some parts, it even goes out of the standard 4x4 into much weirder

beat patterns! i like it a lot, although i think their new singles are better.

if you don't get into dark psy-trance, you will hate it like the person above.

but, fruit-loops, just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's bad!

=) definately a high-quality, innovative album. keep on trancing

I love this album. Definitely a walk on the dark side of Psy trance. Very well

produced although the vinyl comes out a little low on the levels.(kind of

typical of Atomic) In response to the review a couple above, the point of

releasing a CD like this is for those of us who prefer not to be spoon fed

"light and uplifting" music. I give this album an 8.5

Well I really liked it. I heard only track 2 in a local shop and after

chatting with the guy behind the counter, came back the next day to buy it. I

wasn't disappointed, very dark in places, but with some really head bobbing

tracks (Vexed, Seven etc) thrown in for good measure. Okay its a bit

different to what we are used to but its definitely well worth a listen! I

give it a 7!

Yum. The complexity of Double Dragon, but dark. 8.5/10. A worthy addition to

any dark trancers' goa collection. As to the point of releasing such cds,

someone has to fight britney spears. Imagine the whole world as airheaded

zombies that are spoonfed "Life is good" songs so that they will think life is

good, when it really is not so shiny. Has anyone here ever seen Pink Floyds

"The Wall" video? Though i do enjoy doof's first cd, which is as far away as

you get from dark :) Bom! - Raven

This album is NOT for everyone... but it sure is for me. It IS dark, it IS

heavy, but if you are in the mood, the psychedelics on a tight looping

baseline with throbbing rhythms is a nice diversion from the normal. Like all

good ones, this album gets better with time.

At last something different! I'm only on track 3 so far, but I'm digging it,

especially after listening to fluffy Goa CDs all nite (not that that's a bad

thing either).

Very strange twisted style. I like almost everything that Atomic ever released but somehow I didn't quite get into this album. It is pretty twisted and very dark but some tracks seem to be more repetitive than they should. The level of psychedelia is satisfying but it doesn't reach psychedelic peak.

Favourites : STREET OF FEAR, BIG BALLS, SEVEN, TEMPTRESS...6.5/10

Semsis - Letting Go

2000

Want one of the best dark goatrance albums? Have Menis - Temporal Insanity? Good. And Battle of the Future Buddhas - Twin Sharkfins? Check. Just listen to Letting Go.

01. Streets Of Fear is like a darker, Streets Of Rage track with strong production. B+

02. Generation Vexed involves screaming woman fx, shock value driven, catchy beat but shock wears off as song progresses. B-

03. Big Balls is a strong, thumping mid-tempo number. Well done! A-

04. Letting Go has those slamming doors, reversed echoed effects (catchy), but the screaming woman fx are cheesy IMO. Catchy number. B

05. Heroes And Modmen follows the uptempo, hard-edged approach and remains good; not much evolution though, still catchy! B

06. Seven is THE BEST SONG on the album arguably. The song is engaging from beginning to end, and has some deliciously engaging sounds and layering. It's edgy too, and includes gentle ambient notes among the wild darkness. I like this song so much. It's imaginative, gripping, and enjoyable. Well done Semsis! A

07. Temptress has an evocative, ambient opening notes that thankfully reprises; they're catchy! The track develops into one of the most solid and memorable songs on the album. Those ambient notes and the voice samples that later appear are great. Great track!!! A-

08. Holding On sounds between mid and uptempo. This is a strong, thumping number with numerous catchy effects, and organic drum work. Great track. A-

In Conclusion, this is one of the most solid dark Goatrance albums out there. What sounds like organic drum work mixed in with the synth approach is very creative! This album would probably not make my Top 10 in dark goatrance, but it's up there, maybe Top 20. The album's arguably like getting trapped in a giant, dark castle dungeon with crazy shit going on for an hour. And that crazy shit going on is for the most part, catchy. They just don't make albums like this anymore. Kudus to Semsis for taking risks! This is one of the more unique, dark psy/goa albums out there, rare actually. There is some great (catchy) work here. Enjoy!

Favorite tracks: 1, 3, 6, 7, 8.

B+

For me one of the best albums ever made in trance scene.Industrial flavour, metallic sounds very clear in production & a lot of insiration.

This album is still fresh & up to date after 11 years,i think they was looking forward Nick Smith & Iain Rive.

An incredible masterpiece remaining permanent in time
