Review:

Second comp from the danish label Creamcrop, Folded View is a worthy follow up

to Liquid Levels. This time it is more varied, from full on psychedelia in the

Hux Flux track to lone rythmic structures in the Paps track.

Process track starts well the comp, begins with a quite aggressive bassline,

then a nice melody enter, the bassline change and it ends almost like a

morning song. Onion Sex by Yumade is the worst in the comp I think, just a

simple bassline and a bunch of percussions thrown in, and it doesn't evolve

until the end. Next track by Paps and Droidlock is also quite minimal but more

interessant, some nice build up with a kind of cold sound, has a tribal

feeling to it. More of the same with Algorythms, but this one is great, good

fx, percussion , and a slight change in the bassline later in the track give

it a good groove. Next track by Paps is also a winner : short funny intro,

then some kind of happy bassline while the drums are getting in place and

after a break the bassline changes into something more aggressive that grows

until the end. Yumade doesn't add a lot to Digital Silence, a heavier bassline

and some fx, but I prefer the original, which is a great track. Imploded is

another very good track : weird/dark intro, odd voices, a mean bassline and a

cool sample. It's written remix : has the original been released ? Hux Flux

delivers a killer track in his typical style, fast and psychedelic, lots of

weird modem/computer fx and this time nice distorted voices too. Maybe the

sound already heard in his album, some kind of bubbling synth sound, is a

little overused, though. Last track by Tegma is an ok ending, slower and

repetitive, but it could have been better. The bass is very "big" and takes up

too much space for something that stays all the way. Also percussion are a

little weak compared to previous tracks. But I like the nice melody.

Overall a good comp, quite minimal with an emphasis on the drums/percussions,

with a perfect production besides the very slight "hiss" than can be heard on

the 2 yumade tracks. Also the order of the tracks is good with a long buildup

til the Hux Flux track. Best tracks 4,5,7,8 . Mark would be 8/10.

A second compilation from CreamCrop, and it seems they're getting better. I was

not too inlove with Liquid Level, but this is a very good compilation, more

diverse and interesting. The hight points are Paps & Droidlock in a great

groovy rhythm-changing track that seems to occupy more time than the 7 minutes

it's suppose to. Paps track is another good one, one of his favorites with me.

Magus vs. PPPaul is another nice one- good sampling. Hux Flux in another full

on psychotic madness, and the best track here, I have to disagree with ubik,

is the Tegma track closing the compilation- nothing too sophisticated, but

powerful sounds and perfect build- one of these tracks, that whenever played

at a party will make all people sitting down, go dance.

this is a very good compilation a very varied compilation too... (*1*) process

with one of my least favorits here with a minimal track it's the most boring

song in this compilation the song is too repetitive and the beat is nice...

(*2*) yumade with a great song the bassline is very wierd and i LIKE it

ALLLLLLot, the song is very psychedelic and is only for listening, very nice

effects and weird stuff there in the backround... (*3*) paps and droid lock

with a very good, very cool breakbeat and weird voices in the backround...

(*4*) Algorithmic disorder WOW what a great song, crazy percussions in there

not a single sign of melody in all the track, very nice breakbeat, but

somthing is missing there for sure... (*5*) PAPS with another great track also

one of my favorits, crazy bassline what a track... (*6*) yumade with a remix

to magus's track i like it there is great insane voices in this great track

and very good breakbeat... (*7*) magus and pied piper paul with a sick track

it's so crazy, all those voices one of my most favorits here in this

compilation, and the vocals are soooooo great with the grrrrrrrr break beat,

and the bassline which changes in the middle and those crazy insane voices

this is just GREAT!!!!!!!... (*8*) Hux Flux

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW

OWOWOWOWOWOWWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO what a great great great track, one of the

best i have ever heard in my life, not a single moment of boringness this

track is so fucking crazy sick insane, those voices are killing me, i can

listen to this one 24 hours a day and still want to hear this more, all the

things in this trackgreat from the breakbeat till the bass line the effects

and the hihats... (*9*) tegma with a cool one nice bassline bt still it's

boooooring, you can't sit and listen to all this track because it's not

changing...

overall great compilation my favorits here are 2,4,7,8(!!!) buy this it worth

the money even just for hux flux track (7.5/10)

Pretty good comp I'd say, definately no monotonious one! Great vibes, some

tribal, some exellent psyeffects, some extremely minimal stuff, and very nice

voice samples... A pinch of variety! So it's just great and never gets boring

to listen to as a whole...

FAVS...

4 : Algorythms has a very pure sound, nice pumping kick-bass, play it out

loud...regardless of the fact that it's a little over high-hatted one of the

best tracks here imo!

7 : Imploded Brains rmx has cool weirdo sounds, what else could I expect with

such a title?! psychedelix, great voice samples, nice bassline, awsome

track... what more can I say?!

8 : Hux Flux delivers some typical stuff here, a blend of absurd atmospheric

noises, whi-whi-woooo and other flippy samples and massive vibration... this

all at perfect speed! I've allways loved the Hux Flux crazyness!

So, best tracks are: 4,6,8 ...other good ones: 3,5 ...no bad ones! 8,5/10 :)
