Psysex - Expressions Of Rage

Guest Infected Max

Recommended Posts

Well.. its not mature enough... many of the samples are NOT funny.. just lame

and "ripped off"...

Although ONE song on this album rulez pretty much:

Expermental Procedure! It's really good...Especially the filtersweeps and some

places.. they are SO well fited.. btw... The Skywalker remix isnt good I think... too simple.

5/10 for the album and 8.5/10 for the Expermental Procedure-song...

I think that dj goblin is one of the most talented in the area. i liked this

album and mostly tracks 2,3,4,6,7,9, i think that anyone who will listen to

the music of goblin under LSD will agree that it was a great, interesting and

funny trip, his music keeps brings a smile on my face each time.

the album contains different styles of music, and i cant wait to hear toward

which dirrection goblin is going to take his talent in the next album. 9/10

just cause i know he will keep improving....

This release isn't realy bad. Actually i like the pumping style of DJ Goblin

and Oshrat. I realy like 'the alien panic' cause of the trancy melody on the

end, it sounds like outerspace waves getting into your body. 'the evil

turkeys' is a nice track for the dancefloor but why did those guys put the

stuped 'southpark' samples into the track, it sound realy irritating. Psysex

got lots of influences by infected mushroom, 'the beat of the year' is based

on an infected track ('mushmushi' and 'none of this is real' on the classical

mushroom LP). the title of the album (expressions of rage) also appears in

that infected song. But I like there style, it's fresh and progressive

isra-trance in my opinion. 7.5/10

i read the last review by "setsuko" and had to write in-

BEAT OF THE YEAR influenced by infected's MUSHMUSHI?

what the f**k!i really don't see any slight resemblence between these two

tracks and suggest that this guy should have his hearing checked.

anyway, this CD is very good and doesn't sound like infected at all.it has a

unique style,if a bit childish at times(because of the overuse in samples)but

always hard enough for the dancefloor.

keep it up psysex!

I read the review of avi_brator and checked my hearing over and over and over

again. I'm still convinced that 'the beat of the year' is quiet resembling

with the 'infected mushroom' song. I know how 'mushmushi' sounds

(extraordinary freak'n out) but I compared the song with another song from

'IM' on the 'classical mushroom' vinyl .I also got mushmushi on CompactDisc

release and this one is indeed the original. On the vinyl release, there is a

psy-breakbeat-track that sounds realy familiar with the Psysex track. The

cover of the vinyl says the track is called 'mushmushi' (default printed

information I suppose). Psysex has their own cyberdelic style and I realy

can't wait till their new album will be released , their brainstorm of sounds

is awesome. Keep your innerselves trance-formed !

dear setsuko

listen up man:

i really don't understand why u think THE BEAT OF THE YEAR resembles

MUSHMUSHI.the only reason i can think of,

is that when CLASSICAL MUSHROOM was first released on vynil, some of the tracks

on the record were PSYSEX tracks ,while it still said infected mushroom on the

cover details-this was a serious fuck-up from the vynil manufacturers, which

was later repaired when they published the second vynil edition.

then again,Mushmushi wasn't even on the classical mushroom album so i don't see

that as the reason for what you wrote....

both tracks have a musical line that is outputting through a "GATE" machine,so

maybe that's what u ment, but besides that the tracks are soooooooo

different......

as "avi_brator" said, maybe you should have your'e hearing checked!

Guest Yoni again

okay i checked infected's track again,it does appear on the classical album but

i still think there isn't any resemblence between the tracks.

and besides, the EXPRESSIONS OF RAGE album with the track "the beat of the year"

came out several months before "Classical mushroom"!

Not a bad album but the tracks are a little too hard for me. I'm more into

melodic sound. But some of the tracks use good samples, LSDance for example. I

haven't heard a lot of tracks on parties, only The Evil Turkeys and Skywalker

remix. And Skywalker Remix is also the reason i bought the album, very

kicking. Especially when the melody starts after about 4 minutes....

Great music, very jumping and happy style. Some say immature I say great. Makes

you feel good and happy. LSDance is amazing. I really like the way they use

movie phrases in their musics. Good one! 8/10

All those sceptical people would talk a little bit different if they would have

experienced track nr9 on the dancefloor, on an acidtrip, as I did.

Undescribable!!!

Wow, if you think Psysex is not original and innovative, then I don't think

anyone can live up to your high expectations. Psysex kicks ass. Experimantal

procedure is amazing. The only two I don't like off of this album are beat of

the year and Expressions of Rage. Other than those, I can't even list them in

order of favorites. I saw them live with a little liquid help. Two to be exact

and wow, I have never had so much fun. They fuck with your head and take you

to knew levels than stop for a second and then blow your mind with an awesome

melody that will have you screaming. I hope IO get the chance to see them

again.

I can't believe the bad reviews I read here? "Childish" & "ripped off" samples?

1st of all: all samples r "ripped off" that's kinda the idea ;), 2nd: when has

"childish" gone & become a bad thing? I guess maybe when u are a kid & just

wanna "grow up" so bad, but there comes a time when u really appreciate the

"child within" & really try 2 "dig it out", maybe when u've x-perienced a lot

of s**t. Anyway I think it's a great & refreshing album, which makes me smile

& that's what a lot of good "trance" does.

All those ppl complaining bout it not being "dark" enuff? Why do u want it 2 b

so "dark"? It seems 2 me it's the same ppl referring 2 the years from 94- as

the

"golden" years... in my opinion that's when the "scene" started 2 turn bad (not

the music). That was when it became mainstream & all the s**t-heads entered

the scene. As I have been in/on the "scene" from the "beginning", no not the

60's ;), but the late 80's (acid, house) & the beginning of the 90's when it

was still simply called "techno-parties" & "fullmoon-parties", I must say a

lot of the "childishness" & "innocense" disappeared along with names like

"goatrance" etc. being introduced. The music has definitely "matured" & become

better, but the "atmosphere" in the scene has become "hardened". In the

beginning there was a wonderful "attitude" as there were no rules yet... it

could go anywhere! But along with it reaching the "surface" & becoming

mainstream in 93-94, a lot of jerks came into the "movement" with "rules" as

how 2 dress & act etc... which was x-actly what "we" tried 2 avoid in the

beginning.

As 2 the reviews it also seems 2 me that the same ppl not liking this "kind" of

trance r the 1's who like it "dark", & with a possibility of sounding a bit

"pre-judicial", the 1s I refer 2 as the "e-heads" ;). I've always had the

feeling that the 1's takin' "e" was the 1's who couldn't "handle" LSD...

thereby I mean the 1's who can't handle the ups & downs of acid, the 1's who

just want 2 have a "good time" & r afraid of the "places" u can go when u trip

on "real" hallucinogens like LSD & DMT. I've always enjoyed the "craziness" of

hallucinogens, having had many x-traordinary x-periences, not all of 'em

"pleasant", but a hell of a lot more "interesting" than when "just" under the

influence of MDMA. And this might also b a part of my "prejudice", but I could

swear that the ppl on acid dance a hell of a lot "better" than those on "e".

It seems 2 me like the 1's on "e" only hear/listen 2 the "rhythm", like they

would b happy if we just send 'em into the forest with their "plastic clothes"

& a "bassdrum"... ;) While the "acid-heads" enjoy all aspects, or the full

"spectrum", of the music & "play" much more around... "toying" with the sounds

& pulling themselves around the "floor" with invisible "ropes" etc...

2 get back 2 the review(s): some of the ppl here seem very "narrow-minded", not

like they've had their minds "x-panded" at all ;). I could go on in the same

"narrow-minded" way & judge this music from the fact that they're from Israel

& I don't like the way Israelis behave, either in their "own" land or when

they travel in huge "groups" around the world, but I won't ;). U have 2 listen

2 every "piece" of music within it's own "context" & free of "prejudice". I've

been a long time fan of the "style" of Hallucinogen & Cosmosis not 2 mention

TIP b4 it/they became a record label & I guess I sort of use 'em as a

"standard" as 2 whom I compare others. Trying not 2 b 2 influenced by my

already established "taste", I can't help but compare some parts of

"Skywalker" 2 Simon's classic "LSD", the "build-up" & the positive "feel" of

the track. What some ppl call "Cheesy" I guess I call nice & postive :).

Even though I also feel a lot of the stuff comin' out of Israel sounds the same

& r a bit "un-imaginative" & havin' the attitude towards Israel as a country

as I have, 1 have 2 separate politics & music, giving credit 2 musicians with

visions makin' this world a better place 2 b, no matter where they might b &

what dotted lines on maps "confine" 'em. Even though my favorites will still b

some of the "old" boys havin' proved there worth like TIP, Hallucinogen,

Cosmosis, Total Eclipse, Doof, Green Nuns... etc, 1 has 2 give Israel credit

for spawning artists like Astral Projection (some trax ;)), Infected Mushroom

& now apparently PsySex... They might still b a bit "unpolished", but they

have some fresh ideas & funny samples. Agreed they might have overdone some

of the "South Park" samples in "Evil Turkeys", but 2 the ppl who think the

samples r "childish" & not "serious" enuff... maybe u r takin' yourselves a

bit 2 serious? ;)

As I started out by saying (seems like a long time ago :)), this is music that

makes u smile & wanna dance, the samples make me laugh & that has become quite

a "rare" thing in trance these days. It also seems 2 me, from reading some of

the other reviews, that there are a few ppl havin' enjoyed it immensely while

under the influence of LSD ;), maybe confirming my "ravings" bout the "e" &

"a" heads? All I can say is, give us happy "acid-heads" something 2 dance 2,

some "icing on the cake", some fx 2 marvel @, some "toys" 2 play with & some

samples/sounds 2 laugh @... then all the "e-heads" can go back 2 the

clubs/discotheques they came from & dance girl/boy like they r used 2, while

listening 2 their 4on4 drum-machine & nothing else, as it seems 2 b enuff for

them... ;))) As for us "free spirits" it can't get crazy & weird enuff as long

as it has that "feel" in it...

This became a bit more than just a regular review, but I've been lurkin on this

board for the last year or so, & I had a lot on my heart. I've especially

wondered bout those "narrow-minded" ppl reviewing albums by "dissecting" them

track for track & "rating" them by givin them some number? I'm afraid 2 tell u

guys, but I think u've sort of missed the whole point of this "type" of music,

not 2 mention the "energy" of the scene or @ least the "true spirit" of the

"scene"... If u have 2 put it into "1" word... it must be "Open-Minded"...

Greetings 2 all "free spirits"

It's not basic Psychedelic, it's innovative, it's a perfect blend of styles,

amazing mixings, and of course, let's say that this is not very danceable, but

c'mon: buy a CD just cause U wanna dance is for silly junkies hearing Digweed

& Oakenfold, be open minded!! and hear this Ok. 8/10

One of my fav albums from my collection, great stuff !

Gotta love that 'Playstation' and metallic vibe of the album.

Psysex music will be remembered.

Wish ace ventura will come to his senses and get back to goblin and start producing music for people who actually listen to the music

and not dance like monkeys in those 'selfie's' festivals.

They gave you what ?! :)
