Artist: 12 Moons

Title: Beyond Infinity (Short Version) / Smell Of Sprack

Label: Flying Rhino

Date: 1999

Track listing:

01. Beyond Infinity (Short Version)

02. Smell Of Sprack

Review:

Michael Andresen is very versatile and you can never really know for

sure what´s going to come out of the speakers. This EP must be one of

his first and the sound is very different from the sound of his latest

release on USTA or the EP released on Digital Structures. "Beyond

Infinity" (8/10) is very smoth, melodic and fluffy morningtrance not

that far from the sound of commercial clubtrance, but it´s really well

done and I enjoy it a lot. "Smell Of Spräck" (9/10) sounds completely

different because it´s very energetic and bubbly with a lot of acidic

noises. I think this is the best track from 12 Moons released so far,

atleast that I´ve heard, and I can´t do anything but recommend it.

Stormbringer, I might suggest you also check out the Back 2 Basics 12" on

Flying Rhino, and the Shape Shifter 12" on Transient [the Shape Shifter 12" is

by Tinnitus, a 12 Moons side project]. The Shape Shifter 12" is a little bit

more like the 12 Moons material on Digital Structures. The Back 2 Basics is

one of my all time favourite late morning stompers. Boom!

smell of spraack is the koolest track of all-time! bizarro noises rocketing

around the room with a sturdy trance base... it's awesome! what IS spraack

anyways?

back 2 basics was a *huge* disappointment for me... it's hugely unoriginal with

an excessively annoying noise that tries to take over the song. just thinking

about it gets that *sound* stuck in my head :o(

but check out 'sliding particles' on order odonata 5 - my fave morning track of

all-time!

Smell of spräck you mean?? I think spräck means something that burst if you put

to much in it?? = )

Awesome EP, glad I own it. It fits well into a DJ mix too. I like to hint that it's coming by adding the breathing intro into the mix long before I actually bring in this track.
