I can't help but be biased :) - I think TC has superior signal paths and converters and whatnot. Besides, it comes with some neat'n'sweet plugins, and DSP capability, so that your computer won't be troubled. [massive edit]

how about just getting a mixer?

How about I have a 16 channel digital mixer already? :) But you are right, that I could use the mixers channels to record, however, I dont have any more inputs on the mixer that are free. I definetly dont want another mixer. I could do with a bigger one, but then It would not be digital hhehehehe.

Circle of evil there :D

Im starting a pretty big project at the moment, with live drums, live bass and song as well. Thats why I would like to record directly to the soundcards inputs. We will see what I will do in the end :)
