Heard of this, but avoided as it was PC only at one point. Might check it out now, as it's compatible with OSX!! :)

I have all of these minus the KjaerhusAudio stuff and Kristal - Crystal is my 'go to' synth for just about any ambient texture you can think of - Synth1 is also really really good, but the PC only part is really gutting, especially since I work soley with Macs for music production now.

nice thread stalker!

some basic effects like delay, gate, reverb etc are the blue line effects, they are very old now but are extremly cpu friendly. ive been using them for a few years now.

find them here: http://www.sonicspot.com/daplugins.html

another favorite the virtual-analogue drumsynthesize by e-phonic called drumatic, ive been using version 2 for some time now, quite good for kiks.

find it here: http://www.e-phonic.com/

two more links with freeware stuff:

i also found this link which stalker recomended to me some time ago very usefull:

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Tuareg.

Granted, it's just a rather amateur sample sequencer cum synth, but I've never been able to get Reason to sound as outright fat as that baby.

(In case you're wondering, I actually bought the fat version after a while. And only gave it up after discovering Reaktor.)
