Guest Rain Posted December 7, 2005 Share Posted December 7, 2005 well I finally finished my first mix... it's 100% pure oldskool and newskool... it's melodic goatrance... this is my first mix so be gentil first a little preview... my vision to create mix ! you can go 2 different directions 1. you choose tracks that are perfect to beatmatch and create a mix with that 2. you create a list of tracks in you head wich one is the first and then follows... well I chose 2 because my goal is to trying to tell a story.... the problem is you have all the tracks but some just can' be mixed... that's always been with oldskool and always will be... (fucking changing bmp all the time ) I chose for 2 so that means in this mix there are good beatmatches/mixes but also wurse ... but I don't care j, I go for the conecept, the atmosphere I create during my mix and keeping the listener busy.... and just fucking mix the damn tracks who can't be mixed... so in some mixes there will always be some mistakes... but I did my best ! you can critize as much as you want, one thing I have to say for myself... to less advancement... it's too fast supermelodic... some of you will like that a lot but If I listen to my own mix a had a bit at the end... overdose goatrance I just created the mix pefect long enough so you can burn him on a disc... tested it in nero burning rom... The mix is called : the fields of subconsciousness and I'm going to play a little game with it... I won't give the tracklist now... but anyone who knows a track just reply and I'll fill it in with edit... it's really not that hard.... some users will filll thl list directly complete ... intro jaïa - sentences to heaven hux flux - perceptor cydonia - haunted world jaIa - sillenium green nuns of the revolution - megannical clouds cosmosis - gift of the gods blue planet corperation - generator semsis - pile deedrah - the wizard demo khetzal - bells of sarnath khetzal & chai (avigamati) - babylone beach lost buddha - metamorphosis I will edit when somebody guessed a track so at the end we have the full playlist for the noobs under us it's 320 bitrate cause I'm addicted to quality so enjoy I would like to thanx psytown for hosting my set... normally my friend from digital cult would do it from the dacru team but they are in mexico on tour now for a month with their live act... some promo psytown site ! www.dacru.be in the future my mixes will be on line there on the dacru site... but still thanx again psytown for helping me out... That selection is really wicked. Mixing is quite alright too, in fact its really good considering this is your first mix. I think I've heard most of the tunes already, but right now I can only label #3 as a Cydonia track. btw... the last track is pure ownage, holy shit, what is this? That's the only thing I never understood, how people can MAKE a set before playing... I think a dj should feel what the public wants... And make his set "live", when you prepared one it is impossible to react on the needs of the public... maybe I'm just too old school, don't know... Anyway, about the mix, it has many great tracks, but it is a little too much uppitched, or is it just me? As it are more story telling tracks... And the first track sucks imo But except of that nice! I just make mixes for fun to enterntain people.... let them discover new music or keep the old skool spirit a live.... trust me with this mix I haven't revealed one secret...
