Though the exact etymology of the word Upizden remains unknown, ancient rune stones found scattered across the Scandinavian shorelines indicate that the word was often used to convey a condition that transcends the state of pure being and binds sentient matter with constant energy of the ethereal cosmos. Though today Upizden has become archaic, we invite you to once again celebrate Upizden in all its glory by joining us in good spirit for three days and two nights of psychedelia at the beautiful Peterborough Crown Game Preserve. Bring everything you would normally bring when going camping. Expect to walk (and carry all your things) for about 2 km over rugged terrain (prepare to cross a stream over a log). Optionally, you can rent or bring a canoe (or other floating transport) and use it to get to the site. It is also best to arrive during daylight since travelling at night might be difficult and dangerous due to the ruggedness of the terrain (don't forget to bring a flashlight). Please avoid bringing glass and disposable items. Be extra careful at the waterfalls as the current is very strong. We want to emphasize that you must bring everything you will need for however long you will stay. Everyone is responsible for themselves for FOOD, WATER, and SAFETY. Don't expect to be provided with water or food. Bring your own. Be mindful of the strength of the river and that rocks can get slippery. Do not bring any glass! Bring garbage bags to take out whatever you bring in. Avoid food with lots of packaging. LEAVE NO TRACE!!! ARRIVE IN EARLY AFTERNOON so you have plenty of time to hike to the site. As written above, the trail is rugged and you will have to walk across a log. You should have good hiking boots or shoes. During the party, be careful of the river current and watch out for your friends' safety. If you think someone is being foolish, tell them! And tell somebody else. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL, LEAVE NO TRACE! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS (from Toronto) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take HWY 401 East HWY 115 North (to Peterborough) HWY 7 East HWY 28 North Northeys Bay Road (to Petroglyphs Park) Drive over a bridge Parking lot on left side (prepare to walk or canoe) Walk for about 2 km through the woods, so that the water is always close to your left. Once you reach the waterfalls, you'll know it's UPIZDEN. Just bring food & water. ~>] Yeah, perhaps a late notice but c'mon hour and a half from Toronto free admission warm tribal shanti company 3 live perfomances, 10 DJs 3 Days music under the stars and waterfall. What else is going to be so nice on this weekend? Antix? Yeah. But 1 day and club inside city. Shankar, bring Antix to Upizden after party... Yes, it is one day and it is inside, but air conditioning will be provided. This party is for those who won't be able to make it out of the city that weekend. That way noone will be feeling left out . Besides, you can always make to Upizden on Saturday after the Antix party, since its 3-days festival.
