What in the hell is up with Yahell has he converted to comercialism, I really loved

voyage and waves of sounds but what the hell is his new stuff, its super cheesy he

converted to that happy light kind of trance, the reason I am saying this is

because I picked up a copy of ferry corsten's(system f) global trancemissions 2

and it featured yahel on the first track called sugar 1 that song is like super

minimal and freaking cheeesy what is up with the guy does anyone know?? please

tell me if anyone has heard of his most recent album, Hallucinate before i buy it(if

i do) Sorry to all you yahel fans but is it just me????????????????????????

Maybe he just likes making different music now and maybe you don't like that music...

Seems like a pretty logical conclusion to me...so, uhh, now what?

well hel's maybe your right but, is this just gonna stop at Yahel?? , to me this seems like a conspiracy like an anti-goa progressive movement?....Imean do you really think Goa is gonna last forever...I say it'll go as far as the public is willing to take it...just give up and give in to happy progressive or question... is goa starting to die, nooooooooooooooooooooooo.but just maybe that could be the end result ina couple years if no one cares......< you tell me hels>.......

It's like Basiliks says it: Yahel has started to make commercial trance for a long time ago. And I don't see the problem in it: it's the decission of an artist himself what music he wants to make. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

It's not like this is something new, Yahel has turned to cheese long time ago. And Sugar 1 is from 2002, so that doesn't really say much about how his music is today. My guess is that it's become even worse though.

206783[/snapback]

He's always been cheesy in the worse possible way! He and other isralie Cheese artists are the ones partly or maybe mostly responsible why this scene is so horrible "Candy" today! They and their music attracted a lot of ravers from the rave Candy Scene. You know. Scooter people ;-)

There's nothing wrong with different people but today the scene is mostly made up of those silikone bimbos and fake tan bodybuilder boys.

A shame in my opinion! This is thank to the many cheesy artists releasing their cheesy crap from 1998 till today!

the original vision and ide of this scene is longe gone. Today it's nothing but a fashion show suppoted by KILaaaarrrr people.

I could live with that :)

Anyway, to get back to the original topic, I found Private Collection to be his worst... Hallucinate was a bit better though... eve if it's not oldschool, there are some pretty decent tracks in there :)

And yes, when you look back, Yahel has ALWAYS made cheese... even his first 2 albums (which I liked a lot BTW) sound like a "cheesiefied" version of AP... it's just that now his cheese is different from the oldschool sound (albeit not into eurotrance territory either IMO)

And here we go again: another artist bashing thread... I thought that this forum was over the Yahel bashing (I remember a time maybe about three years ago when there where a lot of threads about how bad yahel is), but seems like I was mistaking. It's funny how the oh so open-minded goa people use every chance to blame artists (be it IM or Yahel or GMS or Skazi) for all the grievances in the scene. They just make music after all, it is us people who label them psy and book them for the parties.

It's a bit off topic but I don't think that the artists are to blame for the things that go wrong in the scene (or at least not the artists alone, they are just one part of the scene). Of course there are copycats around making boring music. But the scene is getting bigger and bigger and also more commercial. Nearly every organisator wants to make as much money possible and make bigger parties. No wonder there are also people with a behaviour that doesn't reflect our spirit. I mean the more advertisement is made, the more "unpsy" people comme to our parties. Psy is no longer underground, it's accesable for everyone. It even gets really trendy. If you dislike that the only thing is to make your own small underground parties.

It's still not defendable to produce crap only for money. Not under any circumstances. I (and most everybody) have nothing against psy becoming popular, as long as the music doesn't turn cheesy.

That's true, but how do you know that GMS or Yahel or IM make the music they are making now just for the money? Maybe you assume that because you don't like their music or for other reasons. But as much as I know you don't know annyone of them personally. Just because some people here dislike the style or the change of a style

About Yahel for example: I've seen him DJ twice and to me it seemed that he was really enjoing his music. Ok, this was three years ago (I guess when his third album was released), maybe it has changed now. But just because he is now making Trance instead of Psy does not automatically mean it's just for the money. There are people making trance for the love of the music, even if the psy people very dislike trance and think they are somehow elitaire to commercial trance.

Here is the end of my argumentation skills. I can't really counter that, so I guess... you're right. :(

But if they really like that music I can't understand them at all.

It's all about taste. I mean I like a lot of commercial trance music and I have a lot of vinyls I love as much as I love my psy collection. So it's not so hard for me to understand if an artist changes to another style..

But that of course doesn't mean you have to like it. To each his own, I hope you still have enough psy you like even if some artists change. :)

Come to think of it I agree with you 100%. Yahel has a couple of decent tracks made some years ago, but most of his work is shit. And "Voyage" must be the most overrated tune ever.
