Dorset Perception still sounds fresh after all these years but I just realized that I never knew what they were saying!! I go on google and search, aparently it's: "Desafina(do) Canto mi amor Tu es fixe, es muito bom" since i don't know spanish, i ran it through an automatic translator and got... "Desafina (do) I sing my love You it is fixe, it is muito bom" ... not really helpfull... so anyone who knows spanish can translate this properly please? Or a weird ancient portuguese heheh It's like Out of tune (is that how you say when you sing very badly, not propper notes?) I sing my love You are ...... it is very good now this 'fixe' does not mean anything really in portuguese.. maybe somehow it could be translated by 'solid' as traveller said, but sold is 'FIXO, or FIXA' (depending if masculine or feminin) so yeah, the best guess/half translation is out of tune I sing my love you are solid, you are very good (or it is very good) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BTW now that you mention it, it DOES sound more like protugese to my ears oh and Mr Alien, why not pop your Shpongle CD in your player and tell us what you think the words are? Legitimate creative geniuses. Dorset Perception is an absolute fucking classic. The original lyrics are definitely Portuguese, although could definitely be part of a Portuguese/Spanish hybrid language, depending on one's lingual background. My best guess: Portuguese: Desafina Canto mi amor Tu és fixe, és muito bom (x3) Tu és fixe, és mi amor English: Out-of-Tune I sing my love You are cool / great, (you) are very good (x3) You are cool / great, (you) are my love Also my best guess: this is probably a reference to glossolalia, the phenomenon of [apparently] speaking in an unknown language, especially in religious worship or during a psychedelic experience.
