  1. Title: Altering the Synaptic Controllers Artist: Ufomatka Label: Sentimony Records Release: 2 January 2018 Tracklist: 1. Multiplexer 2. Alien Controlled Human Exterminator 3. Fornax Cluster 4. Warper-mutator 5. Weird Species Sentimony records really summed this release up better than I ever could. "The release name came from nowhere and the dick knows what it is, but it will all fuck us out Get it now and have fun! " It fucked me out the first time I heard it. It's nice to see Goa artists step outside of the comfort zone of traditional 4 on the floor structures and just let loose with their tools. only 3 songs here are really Goa, the other 2 are more Break Beat, sloa styled fuck knows what (Like the track titles).... But they're interesting to say the least. Oh and quite good. 1. Multiplexer - Our journey begins a pretty radical baseline, simple but radical. The track plods along nicely reaching what we could call some sort of climax around the last act of the song. This EP is clearly gonna get points for standing out from what has been released recently. 2. Alien Controlled Human Exterminator - A bouncier track with analog leads pumping out at us as it goes along. The intensity builds quite nicely as random squelches and sounds keep things interesting. Ufo doesn't over use anything and keeps it fresh. 3. Fornax Cluster - The most melodic of the tracks so far. Funky baselines, pure analog shooting us into the unexplored dimensions of dirty space. What? you thought space was all magical and pretty. Well Ufomatka proves us wrong here. Acid drenched planets wizz by as our spaceship wipes grime from its windows. Beautiful in its own way. 4. Warper-mutator - Our hyperspace intergalactic travels have flown right down. Stuck now in the grease dripping, uninhabited bogs of another world, Ufomatka continues our journey. Very trippy track, the pa rum pa rum rum of the percussion really stands out for me. Analog AF. 5. Weird Species - The strangest of the tracks, about as alien as it can get. I feel myself floating through the final canals of our journey. As soon as it appears as though I might make it through to the other side I end up where I started. Looking at this weird species that managed to find itself here, altering synaptic controllers. Thats it folks. A truly wild and weird ride through Ufomatka's soundscapes. His creativity really stands out here and those of you that love pure rough analog, boy oh boy get a taste of this. While rough around the edges (I believe it was meant to be) you've got something here that really does stand out from what I've heard not only Ufomatka release but other artists in this genre. Keep it up amigo. https://sentimony.bandcamp.com/album/ufomatka-altering-the-synaptic-controllers
  2. Tentura Beyond Illusion Sentimony Records Tracklist: 1. Alchemy 2. Interstellar 3. Liftoff 4. Beginning Of Time 5. Echoes 6. Vivid 7. Rising 8. Presence of the Sence 9. Resonance (Remake) 10. Resident (vs. Specialmind) An excellent and hypnotic down tempo album that offers up an epic 83-minute run time and two beautiful compositions that break the 10-minute mark. To get the negatives out of the way quickly, I'm not a fan of the guitars used in "Interstellar" (similar in sound to Ajja & Cosmosis' "The Alien Jams"), the hearty energy of the "Resident" conclusion (made with Specialmind) breaks up the hypnosis established by nearly everything else in this work and "Vivid" is too in-your-face where most everything else here is wonderfully subtle and nuanced. Too, I am not a big fan of the cover art because (1) I'm not interested in seeing someone's footwear when that elaborate Tentura logo looks like it would be fascinating on its own and would probably pop well against a dark background and (2) common sense says if something that intricate is coming up from the water at you, don't stand on a cliff edge with that much LSD in your system. Where the cover works, though, is during the album's best track. On the appropriately titled "Liftoff," a majestic 12-minute masterwork, you can almost picture yourself launching off the edge and flying amongst the clouds. An absolute beauty that works its magic immediately whereas many of these tracks take a couple listens to become great. Courageously, Tentura begins the album on the ambitious (and successful) 16-minute expanse of "Alchemy," a track that feels not a second too long. Elsewhere, the samples in "Beginning Of Time," the wispy female vocals in "Presence Of The Sence" and fantastic spellbinding rhythms in "Echoes" and "Rising" assure the album's overall greatness. Quite possibly, the excellence of "Resonance (Remake)" may become one of the better tracks over time. But with much in this album, with so much subtlety happening in the background of each track, it is difficult to say how great these tracks will become. For now, though, with absolutely no question, it can be said that "Beyond Illusion" has a great chance of being one of the very best down tempo albums that we see in 2015. ()
  3. Artist: Tentura Title: Aurora EP Label: Sentimony Records Date: September, 2013 01 - Aurora (110 BPM) 02 - Melting (75 BPM) 03 - High Way (125 BPM) 04 - Eclipse (80 BPM) This is a perfect example of why you should put a lot of effort into a cover. It's marketing 101 really, Because I listen to a lot of music I oftentimes rely on non musical factors to decide whether or not a release is going to get any attention. User ratings (last resort), Ektoplazm labeling, and of course artwork. This cover is very eye catching. Colorful and futuristic which appeals to the sci-fi geek in me. So it gets listened to. And I'm glad it did. This Russian duo have put together a vivid snapshot of what the future could sound like. From the opening deep trance experience to the confluence of layers in the downtempo tracks. The futuristic atmosphere is so thick you can taste it. Blade Runner on steroids. A world where most functions are completed by androids. Where interplanetary space travel is as everyday as driving to work. It's clean and sounds vast. Perfect for dreaming of what may be. I'll be keeping an eye on this project. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk
  4. Artist: Various Title: Tempo Syndicate Label: Sentimony Records Date: September, 2012 01 - Boggy Elf - Dream Of Ashvattha (In) (80 BPM) 02 - ShizoLizer Gin - Kinder Pingui (115 BPM) 03 - Hypnotriod - The Sleep Detector (125 BPM) 04 - Unusual Cosmic Process - Insignificant Information (104 BPM) 05 - Flooting Grooves - Psydeburn (124 BPM) 06 - Irukanji - Ayalla (125 BPM) 07 - Sygnals - Among Others (110 BPM) 08 - Senzar - Nature Moves (121 BPM) 09 - Daoine Sidhe - Mindslipses (127 BPM) 10 - Wizack Twizack - Lejon (130 BPM) 11 - Primordial Ooze - Trial (120 BPM) 12 - Spectrum Vision - Time Out Man (Out) (120 BPM) Compiled by Irukanji he delivers 12 tracks that traverse the boundaries of several genres. From the clunky downtempo sound of Dream of Ashvattha to the noisy and very long Insignificant Information. Alas, I'm not thrilled with the result. All of the tracks draw from some techno inspiration and at times become too garbled for their own good. There was potential in a lot of them with dark effects and rumbly basses, but they seemed to just veer into aimless territory. Kinda like me when I'm in Victoria's Secret. Wandering around, not really doing anything and afraid to touch everything. I kept waiting for the interesting turn that never came. Reminded me of the minimal days. Lejon from Wizack was the lone bright spot for me. But that guys crazy. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk
  5. Artist: Various Title: Special Places Label: Sentimony Records Date: February, 2012 1. Alpae-3717 - K.D. Expression 2. Camaras De Lamento - CYGNA 3. Dandelions As Memory - CHRONOS 4. Out From Little Box (Astropilot Edit) - IRUKANJI 5. Via Lactea (Astropilot Edit) - AMBIENT INTELLIGENT APPLICATION 6. Port - RABITZA 7. Svoboda - ASTROPILOT 8. Aug - ACCESS TO ARASAKA 9. Disappear - FIELD ROTATION 10. Jewel (Astropilot Edit) - NEXAR 11. A Final Thought - 36 12. A Moment Of Madness - EGUANA What is that....a hockey skate? Or a bunny ridding a sled? Sentimony Records is a label that specializes in psy-ambient and downtempo music that is very relaxing. Based in the Ukraine, they are run by Irukanji and NeiRula. This was compiled by Astropilot and he offers 3 remixes and a track of his own. It's a mix of known artists and newbies, but if it's anything like the dreamy cover I'm all in. Alpae-3717- Lock up your daughters cause here come the Russians! Sergey Yakimov opens things up with a massive soundscape as seen through a huge starship window. The solar atmosphere is well in place as he adds some metallic clanking, but make no mistake, the pads are the star here. With a smooth string and echoing melody we are arriving at our destination. Cameras De Lamento- Been meaning to check out homie's debut in detail, but life has only allowed me to give it cursory listens. It is right in his wheelhouse with a medieval folk vibe complete with big drums and sad melodies big as the Scottish mountains. If you cannot picture Braveheart in this, you haven't seen enough movies. It never gets dull as it switches direction frequently enough to keep you glued. He's even got some guitar that he somehow manages to make it belong. Super. Dandelions as Memory- If you follow downtempo music this man needs no introduction. It's the longest track here and quite easy to get lost in. Smooth for sure and would be perfect for a rainy day as the faraway synth undulates over tumbling water and birdsong. Another one that undergoes several changes so take your time and drink it all in. Out From Little Box (AstroPilot Edit)- Like Dmitry? Well not only did he compile this album, but as I mentioned he delivers a track and three remixes. This is the first remix. Having never heard the original the thing that stands out is the flute which gives it a very Buddhist quality as if I were in Nepal staring at the Himalayas. Goes by quickly even if there ain't much to it. Via Lactea (AstroPilot Edit)- Remix number two please report for duty. It does a great job bringing smooth, floating pads over a chugging percussive set as if the engine of an old tractor was growling to life. Picture time lapse video of a farmer plowing his fields under an overcast sky. Probably has zero to do with the track, but that's what I'm gettin. Who cares, as long as I enjoy it. Port- This duo craft a slowly oscillating track that comes in like waves on the shore as thunder crackles and the rain begins to fall. It hums and droplets fall and create ripples in the sea. Where the f*ck is my hammock when I need it. Svoboda- Glad he decided to add a track of his own. Melancholy piano is just made for a thunderstorm. Not a lot to say about this one. AUG- Rob Lioy (sole American on this compilation) offers up drifting pads along with great effects. All of this = a track that is delicious to the ears. Short though it may be, it is the perfect bridge to Field Rotation's track. Disappear- What did I walk into a funeral? Is this where I lean on the casket for a closer look and it falls to the floor, dislodging the body into a compromising position? Cause that would totally happen to me. This is easily the most mellow track on the compilation. Slow beatless ambient that is suited for looking up at the clouds while so incredibly stoned that they couldn't make enough Funions. "Excuse me young man can you blow me where the pampers is?" Yeah, that high. Jewel (AstroPilot Edit)- This is Nazar Nikolaev and as far as I know this is the only track he released under this project. Never heard the original, but Astropilot gives it his third remix. BTW, he also has a project called Crackle Creations which makes IDM according to Discogs. Very soft and sad piano and strings that conjure up images of Rena Jones. The female vocal is nice, but I'm so fixated on the music I have no idea what she said. It picks up a slow beat and then floats away. Soothing. A Final Thought- Dennis Huddleston from the UK and he has made a short drone track. On it's own I think it would bore me, but in this compilation it fits the pensive mood perfectly. A Moment of Madness- This is Sergey Severin from Russia, but according to his FB page he spent some time in Kentucky. Ah....I come for the education, but I stay...for the Colonel's secret recipe. I have never heard of this individual, but he has composed a track so full of melancholy and sadness that one cannot help but find time for reflection. Was a loved one lost? Beautiful piano piece that would fit right in as the soundtrack to The Ring. Truly special and my favorite one on here. I'm going to have to pay closer attention to this label if they keep releasing stuff this good. It is a drifting and floating parade of sorrowful melodies sad atmosphere. Each track would hold up on its own, but together it creates a aural tapestry. Highly recommended. Beatspace Psyshop Saiko Sounds Goa Store Juno Download Mdk

  7. Artist: Various Title: Absence of Gravity Label: Sentimony Records Date: April, 2011 1. Free Search - REACTIVE 2. God's Channel (Original Version) - ASTROPILOT 3. Sandal - MARY BRUK 4. Tunguska - SPECTRUM VISION 5. We bring the light - ALEXANDER DAF 6. Endless Rotation - CHRONOS 7. Missing Bot - IRUKANJI 8. The third orbit - CJ CATALIZER 9. Nine - PSYFACTOR 10. Approaching to pulsar - NEIRULA 11. Once upon a time - UNSTABLE ELEMENTS Sentimony Records is a Russian downtempo label based in the Ukraine that was started by NeiRula and Irukanji. This release was put together to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first manned spaceflight. Free Search- This is a lovely beatless ambient opening where the only constant is the soft hum of machinery perhaps scanning the fertile surface of an unknown planet for lifeforms. Creatures of the landscape chirp in response above futuristic pads. Got your space suit? God's Channel (Original Version)- Dmitry brings you 10 miles above the surface of the planet with some cold, droning pads as a discussion about space time unfolds. Everything seems to move in slow motion as the light from a nearby star reflects off the faceshield of an astronaut. This must be what it's like when your floating way up there with no sounds but your breathing. Sandal- The slow docking procedure of a vessel hums mechanically in the black void of space. Inside...it's deserted. The first beat of the compilation arrives in a methodical fashion as footsteps echo with a hollow timbre. Computer screens blink waiting for a command that will never come. Very spacious with gentle pads and a lead that rises and falls. I'm so chilled out right now. Tunguska- I imagine the sample is of Russian mission control speaking to their crew on a deserted space station. More droning ambient with a fast moving synth arpeggio. Could be the soundtrack to the astronaut on the cover making a few repairs. Someone check my pulse cause I'm fadin' fast. We Bring the Light- A short one here, but Alexander manages to bring a tribal aspect and a sparkle to the space journey. The rhythm picks up but nothing is changed. The same ambient that was happening before three minutes now has drums. It was nice, but simple and unremarkable. Endless Rotation- "I'm completely operational and all my circuits are functioning perfectly." This Russian duo have their 4th album called Inspirational Power out this year and here have the longest track on the compilation. Over 10 minutes of ambient...I might need a defibrillator. But instead of droning, his pads have dynamic strings and leads that don't let the mind wander. This is seeing the sun rise from behind a planet from 20 miles above the surface. Effects that speak to futuristic progress flutter as the beat gets heavier. The sample fits like a glove as the break vibrates with electricity. Chants and a slow synth line wavers out of the break and the track has an overall positive vibe. Very nice! Missing Bot- A far away chunky beat rumbles below some more spacious pads as a lead lightly growls. That beat germinates into an equally chunky breakbeat and this is easily the most aggressive track with scratchy synths. It's space chaos, I'm tellin' ya. If you were really sleepy this track put an end to naptime. The Third Orbit- Surprise, another Russian downtempo artist that brings floating pads and long, unwinding synths that drift in zero gravity. Soft melancholic tones drive home that isolated feeling one feels miles above the Earth. An awesome ambient piece that defines outer space ambient for me. Nine- Another Dmitry (must be like Mike over here in the States) that is well known for his darkpsy, but has been making a name for himself in the downtempo arena. Here we make our first alien contact with creatures that sound like the ones found in Pitch Black. Space dolphins if you will. It has a beat and it churns which gives it motion. It's ok I guess. Approaching To Pulsar- Ooohh, I like the gurgling metallic sweep. Metallic clankings ripple and where the other tracks marvelled at the beauty of space, this one shows you a darker side. Detuned synths provide a hallucinatory nightmare. Strings drone as a sample is drowned out. Not bad at all, but with the way it began I was hoping for something really twisted. Once Upon a Time- They could've ended this compilation on a great note, but instead decided to put an astronaut speaking to music. All the way through. If I wanted to know about the space missions I would've gone to the library and looked it up. A sample should enhance a track, not be it. Dis...wait for it...appointed. This was a nice trip into space with futuristic pads and atmosphere. It was a good mix of bright and dark themes with only the Irukanji track providing a hiccup in flow. Not saying it was bad, far from it. It just seemed...misplaced. The last track...c'mon man, leave that sh*t for school. My faves? The first three and the Chronos and CJ Catalizer tracks. http://www.beatspace...ity/detail.aspx http://www.psyshop.c.../smy1cd010.html http://www.goastore....roducts_id=4444 Mdk
