  1. So I just wanted to check what our dear forum members think, I don't hold the fate of the forum in my hands obviously. That's the admin/mod teams/owners decision. But I thought it would be interesting to see what the opinions are. With a little poll/survey. The poll is anonymous.
  2. Hi all, Perhaps this question has been asked a while ago, but I can't find it. I'm interested in a statistic of you guys/girls frequenting goa parties. Here in Belgium there are parties every weekend (it seems), but I go to 1-2 parties per year (I'm 42 btw)? I have to say that the more I go, the more I love goa and its scene. The vibe is so great at parties. So I do intend to go more and more. I'm still a newbie. :-) How often do you go? You like small parties or big festivals? Can you describe the atmosphere? A.
  3. Juno Reactor has always been an oddball. While their early albums truly defines the early Goa sound (very 242 inspired), it's not exactly what most people would recognize as Goa Trance today. It's almost more EBM than Trance at times, but that's exactly what made the early pioneers so awesome. They all had their own unique style and sound. Any thoughts?
  4. You know the drill: it's time to vote for your favourite uptempo and downtempo psy albums of 2016. You can vote for up to 10 releases (including albums, compilations, EP's and singles) in each category; your first will be awarded 10 points, your second 9, and so on. Cast your vote by replying to this thread with your votes written in the following format (the label is optional, but if you can be bothered to put it in it will make counting votes easier): Uptempo: 1: Artist - Title (label) 2: Artist - Title (label) 3: Artist - Title (label) 4: Artist - Title (label) 5: Artist - Title (label) 6: Artist - Title (label) 7: Artist - Title (label) 8: Artist - Title (label) 9: Artist - Title (label) 10: Artist - Title (label) Downtempo: 1: Artist - Title (label) 2: Artist - Title (label) 3: Artist - Title (label) 4: Artist - Title (label) 5: Artist - Title (label) 6: Artist - Title (label) 7: Artist - Title (label) 8: Artist - Title (label) 9: Artist - Title (label) 10: Artist - Title (label) The voting will be open until the end of February, or rather when I get round to locking the thread (hopefully I won't go awol for another four months). If you change your mind after voting, don't make a new post - just edit your existing post. Also, if you reply to a post in this thread then please remove any votes from the quoted material (I will be copying and pasting the thread into an automatic vote-counting doohickey, so if votes appear twice they may be counted twice).

  6. in preparation for the "best of 2014" voting i noticed that i haven't listened to much downtempo released this year at all. and apparently i'm not the only one. so what are the best downtempo releases you've found this year? any instant classics that one cannot ignore? was there a good psydub release like globular last year?

  8. I was watching Gaspard NoƩ's Enter The Void and instantly came to think of Ubar Tmar's Matsuri album "True". It's probably one of the weirdest and most interesting recordings I've heard within the Trance genre. Many of the synth parts tend to sound extremely atonal and dissonant. An effect that I've never heard any other Trance artist play with. Re-listening to this album made me curious to check out the rest of his discography. Any fans?
  9. Daniel Vernunft used to be a very controversial and much talked about artist in the scene. These days not so much. Anyone who still listens to his productions?
  10. I'm sure there's been a poll like this many times and more, but times change and so does tastes. I'm personally among the few that believe Astral peaked rather late with Another World. It all just seemed to come together on that fourth opus. Opinions?
