  2. Hello there ! Check out my first self-released darkpsy album compiled from my first tracks made during several years in a BPM range of about 145-160: Tracklist: 1.A cup of tip coffee 04:00 2.Down the rabbit hall 07:01 3.Induced reflection 07:40 4.Wrong castle 06:33 5.Mad pacman 05:51 6.Reclaim your game 06:42 7.Wind substance 07:40 8.12 Moons - Alek Javel (Infest remix) 07:23 This album also got in Best of 2017 by beehy.pe and here's their review: An album by Nick Turashvili that possesses a very interesting sound: trance music with mostly minimal, kick-only beat and un-melodic, reverb-drenched, spatial synthesizers mostly leaving a pyrotechnic effect. It all leaves an ultrapsychedelic impression and renders the music quite unpredictable, thereby avoiding one of the major pitfalls of this genre. Recommended for people who enjoy the darker side of psychedelic trance. Listen: https://infest604.bandcamp.com/album/induced-reflection-4
  3. Artist: Sab Kuch Milegator Title: Surrounded By Surreality Release: March 15, 2018 Label: Aint no Label could handle this (Self Release) Tracklist: Surrender to Surreality Intro Extrapyramidal Twerking On A Pyramid (RMX): Twistortion Rodeo Caramel Carousel: First you, then others & Third eye The Point Of No Yes No (Overwrite Engaged) Disorient Express Gringrinder The words ‘forest’ and ‘suomi’ never drop down in my Ecosia (Yea i save the trees) suggestion bar. One would have to assume that this is entirely due to me never having searched for those genre’s. One would be right. Then along came Klaus Akan Tea? Kaos Aiken Tah? Kana Nakan Tea? Kauas Aikain Taa! Its Kauas Aikain Taa alright. Along it came, it took 4 attempts over 3 months to wrap my head around it (I’m a slow learner), but once I got there it was well worth my time. Now Sab Kuch Milegator is back with the much more pronounceable and equally as danceable Surrounded by Surreality. With a front cover that the Astral Projection guy couldn’t fault, we are off to a good start. Surrender to Surreality Intro: Love me an intro. Love me an intro that lasts a bit longer and goes to stranger places. But this a niggly little niggle that we shouldn't dwell on. Still nice to have an intro to begin with. Extrapyramidal Twerking On A Pyramid (RMX): Did you know that Extrapyramidal was a real word? I did not. Slightly less weird than the original, i’d say more refined and a little less exciting as a result, first song of the album though so it’s really just warming us up. Twistortion Rodeo: Rick coming at cha, which is fitting because with more Rick comes more madness. Twistortion Rodeo delivers big time. Entrancing atmospheres surround you from start to finish. The 4 minute break is appreciated, always love a little broken beat. Caramel Carousel: SKM brings it down a notch with a slightly less crazy first act of the song. We got 9 minutes though, I wouldn’t expect it to stay this way. A more build focused track with some beautiful little background things going on. The voice samples, as always fit perfectly and before you know you’re lost in another one of Sab Kuch’s mental trips. First You, Then Others & Third Eye: ‘Oh hey dad’ ‘No, nothings wrong i’m just listening to music’ ‘No nothings wrong, yes this is music’ ‘Well everything is just sounds really’ ‘yea but the weird noises make melodies and create a rhythm’ ‘No i’m not trying to be clever’ ‘No please don’t send me back to the therapist! ITS JUST MUSIC!!’ ‘Well at least let me bring my headphones along’ This is the weirdness I like. Neat track name, neat little intro. A smooth ass track that’s really quite easy to get lost in. You could be forgiven for thinking that a 12 minute track could get old fast, today we forgive all. The Point Of No Yes No (Overwrite Engaged): Another great track name leads us into the darker realm of frequencies. What would we do without Rick and Morty samples? What would we do without Sabby K. The song really explodes into awesomeness at the 7 minute mark, love it. Disorient Express: My god these track titles are hot. Less twists and turns in this song but a solid Goa lead sits in the back throughout the track. One of my favourites. Gringrinder: The ultimate antidote to the bullshit Christmas cheer we all endure at the end of the year. Then again, Scandi christmas is a little darker than us out West (and the Fins, if we can really consider them Scandinavian, are the darkest of all. better sense of humor too). All these little social factors come together in this track. Also, you don’t hear a lot of explicit language in trance, which only just occurred to me now. Sab Much Milegator comes through with easily the most well planned thoughtful album to date. Negatives of this are you miss out on some of that suomi madness that we got blasted with in Kauas Aikain Taa, if like me you are the sort of person who relishes in confusion you come out of this a little less so. Positives (and there are many) are that for someone like Tsotsi, this meticulous crossing of genres creates an unrivaled listening experience. There's no point in me rating this as every piece of Goa I listen to sounds amazing to me. But what about Suomi and Forest? Well that’s a different story, no one i know (and i know three artists) nails this like Sir’ Kuch. The crossing over of genre’s, the patience, the vision in the tracks, it’s all there. I Insta purchased without regret, and based on the last two albums from the Milegator will continue to do so. https://sabkuchmilegator.bandcamp.com/album/surrounded-by-surreality
  4. Artist: Praktika Title: Playing the Presets Label: Trance Bum Records Date: November, 2016 01 - Kierron Rajoilla (139 BPM) 02 - Hairahdus (140 BPM) 03 - Rahat Pois! (128 BPM) 04 - Donkey Kong (100 BPM) 05 - RooTest (146 BPM) 06 - Tuskien Taival (142 BPM) 07 - Fail Safe (139 BPM) 08 - Sea Of Mud (Mutameri Reggae) (100 BPM) "Here's to better living through chemistry!" Sometimes I go on a tear and just listen to music I've downloaded from Ektoplazm. There's a lot of what the f*ck moments to be found if we're being honest. It's how I feel about Suomi music in general, but the creativity is off the charts. This album was apparently lost and was originally supposed to be released in 1999 by Exogenic Records. I would describe this as psytrance mixed with Suomi and dusted with goa trance influences. It certainly sounds like it came from 99 when hardware ruled. The funky beat and piano riffs in Donkey Kong are enjoyable and I really liked the "late goa after the glory years" Tuskien Taival, along with the real drum sounds of Sea of Mud. Unfortunately the rest of the album didn't hold my attention with it's kooky sounds and sometimes uninteresting sounds. This type of sound has a very loyal following so even if I didn't care for most of it I can certainly respect it. Free at Ektoplazm
  5. Album: The Drama Artist: Escape Into Genre: Progressive, Full-On, Suomi Label: Ektoplazm and Enlight Records Mastering: Colin Bennun Size: 85MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - The Professor 02 - Come With Me 03 - H.N.I 04 - The Ziggurat Of Wondrous Wonder 05 - Outro The Drama contains melodic curves of brain shifting frequencies that delight musical cravings, yet they push hard against the boundary walls inside our heads. With intensified, ever-shifting waterfalls of progressive euphoria, a climactic, unexpected, and eye-widening-ear-widening-soul-widening electronic implosion sends brains into star clusters. This album will take you away on a dramatic journey accompanied by a heartwarming orchestra of soothing percussion, passionate and loving piano leads, and elegant energy at every beat. The innovation is outstanding. The vibes are extreme. This album is easily top of the charts, skyrocketing up a staircase of encompassing musical accomplishments that pay close attention to detail and mood. There is not a single second within this marvel I do not enjoy. From the first intro in "The Professor," I knew this album was going to be ridiculously entertaining. Escape Into uses a fresh and interesting recording of a man taking a sit at his piano to begin crafting the visions inside his head. The recording sounds up close and real, and then it uses the tune from the white and black instrument to start off the track. I have heard many attempt this style in the past, but it is rare to hear it done so well. The three dimensional sound is deep and full, taking me into the experience destined. This is where I simply can not stop listening. Every second, a new and interesting idea is born from seemingly nothing. It just pops up, grabs a hold of my body, and shakes me up like never before. This is what we like to call "dancing". I haven't heard a style this diverse in a very long time. From the "get him a glass of water" voice samples from "H.N.I," to the quirky introduction followed by a full-on sub bass with zips and zaps in "The Ziggurat Of Wondrous Wonder". Nostalgic Goa drum lines, Progressive euphoric trance melodies, Classical influences, Full-On Morning and Twilight raging dance patterns, and entirely new concepts are sewn together to build a totally game-changing twist of wonderful perfection. The mood is sweetly amusing. Is this my world as a child? Is it what I feel in my dreams? Is this a recording of a distant glowing planet flying at the speed of light through space? Whatever the case, it is dramatic sound in its finest form. The outro makes me tear up, using downtempo brilliance expected only from the masterminds of the trance community. Yet, in the midst of a free online culture, I find a particular gem in a field of treasure. It is so small, yet its twinkle shines through the darkness to bring a bright and lovely shine into my life. I feel the urge to get up and dance through the night like there is no tomorrow. I am getting lost in a soundscape of harmony with this album. I do not know what else to say, other than I will definitely keep this close to my favorites until the day I die. Download this album immediately, it will well be worth it. Take the normal drama out of your life and inject this into your veins. Your gonna love it. 10/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thanks to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth. - Special Thanks to Carol Porto for his incredibly talented artwork!
  6. Artist: Gubbology Title: Anachronism Label: Troll N' Roll... Ektoplazm release Date: 20/9/2017 Track list 01 - Time Is On Our Side (143 BPM) 02 - Bronze Age Youth (143 BPM) 03 - Communicative Zone (145 BPM) 04 - Dark Arts (148 BPM) 05 - Space Junk (147 BPM) 06 - Primordial Soup (145 BPM) 07 - Ultraviolett (143 BPM) 08 - Amber Archives (143 BPM) Ok it's late night so bear with me. I don't know where to begin. I've been going through threads learning everyone's perspective on Goa music today. A lot of it the discussion comes down to originality, a sense of playfulness, and artist skill. Well. The folks over at Troll N' Roll records have teamed up with Ektoplazm to deliver, to you, Gubbology - Anachronism. I won't go into individual songs as that would take far to long and I have a lot to say already. The relationship between dark psy and forest has always been apparent. While I've noticed aspects of it in some goa releases it's never the defining feature. No more, Gubbology has shown how beautiful the two, three, four?? genres can dance around in a twisted display of respect for one another. Gubbology keeps each aspect away from one another until like a magician he brings them all together in beautiful climax's. For that reason I can't really say that we should label it into a genre as it's just Gubbology's unique take one psytrance. Every song bounces around playfully, going from light happy energetic dance floor destroyers to deeper darker twisted funk. Each track is original from the last. Each track is fun. Each track is a challenge for you to keep up. If it was easy to do this I imagine I would have heard more like it before. I can't believe this is given free to us via Ektoplazm, that generosity is twisted in it's own way. Well i don't know what else to say. Can you tell I think this album is worth everyone's time. And it might not blow you away the way it has me, but i think you're all going to like this. Regards, http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gubbology-anachronism Edit: I completely disregarded the Suomi influence up there. Oh the Suomi! I love how the suomi style of 'i'm just going to do whatever the fuck i feel like' really pays off here. I can say this album is a gateway into atleast 4 different genres. Would love other peoples take on it
  7. Tracklist: 01 - Kierron Rajoilla (139 BPM) 02 - Hairahdus (140 BPM) 03 - Rahat Pois! (128 BPM) 04 - Donkey Kong (100 BPM) 05 - RooTest (146 BPM) 06 - Tuskien Taival (142 BPM) 07 - Fail Safe (139 BPM) 08 - Sea Of Mud (Mutameri Reggae) (100 BPM) Rediscovering Praktika’s lost album – Playing The PresetsWhen it comes to free releases and Creative Commons music, there is an unwritten rule that you always have to go the extra mile to get the needed attention. Many in this sport tend to fail, but some of them succeed by making their music interesting, refreshing and attention-worthy. Even it has been in release just for two days, new/old album by Finnish group Praktika (Heba and Ripa) is one of thoose releases. At the first sight, after I saw a recommendation by a friend, I experienced this release as something special. Based on the available informations, Praktika’s album Playing The Presets was made in time period between ’97-’99 and it was scheduled to be released by Exogenic Records (to some of you known by hosting names such as Kiwa, Texas Faggot or Highpersonic Whomen, to name a few) in late 1999, but due to the loss of master tapes it was postphoned till this year and (based on their promo text), apparently, with the help of aliens and Johtoääni Studios files are recovered sometime in summer of 2016. Playing The Presets comes with 8 tracks in classic Goa trance style with Suomi twist. I have to admit that I’m not an expert for this certain genre, but based on the release catalogue of Trance Bum Productions (label responsible for this release), it seems fitting and proper to give them a release slot and showcase some Goa music alongside with Suomi. So, let’s hear how does it actually sound. It kicks-off with Kierron Rajoilla track – a mid-tempo (139 BPM) Goa tune with really warm and analog vibe. At the first listen you can already feel that music comes from different era – drum patterns, swirling effects and subtile melodies are exchanging during the whole time while interesting vocals are appearing and leads you into dreamy scenario. It really brings nostalgia in best possible way and if I could guess, I would say it was made sometime around ’95 or even ’94 since it has that primitive (in absolutley postive way) structure, but hypnotic and goastatic. Truth to be told, I couldn’t figure the correct meaning of the track name, but it looks to me that is about certain cycles which makes sense. Unlike the opening track, Hairahdus starts more agressively, with more accent on rhythm and basslines. Even there is no big difference in tempo, this one gives more energy and breaks are short ‘n sweet – perfect for dancefloor gymnastic enthusiasts. I have to admit it’s not my cup of tea that much, but it will be played around for sure. Rahat Pois! is probably the reason why you will fall in love with this album. It has everything that makes Goa music so wonderful – clever arrangement and development, sharp and wicked kicks, interesting and engaging effects playing during the whole time and recognizable lead melody. It’s not the best Goa trance track out there, but for sure back in the days it would end up in thoose ‘a must have Goa’ compilations such as Goa-Head or Pulse. The moment when Goa element will become absent was expected and it happens on 4th track with interesting name – Donkey Kong. Oh, damn you nostalgia, it was such fun to play DK Country or Diddy’s Quest on SNES, I really miss thoose days, but this track actually offers something not-that much related to the game – a nice and relaxed downtempo/trip-hop fusion with some funky details and weird throat-singing in the background. It’s one of thoose tracks you would play at summer night at some bar with laid-back ambient and atmosphere. On the other hand, RooTest brings more Suomi type of sound and Praktika executes it flawlessly. Throughout the whole track something happens and it has that silly vibe, but in totally enjoyable way. Another highlight off the album is Tuskien Taival. Just like Rahat Pois! it gives plenty of Goa groove and showcases how bunch of hardware and gear can create so much noise that makes perfect sense. I never was one of the guys who puts gear ahead of ideas, but in cases like this, you just have to appriciate the skill and knowledge that has been put into making process of Tuskein Taival tune. It seems this album only can get better and better and Fail Safe is a proof. It doesn’t offer anything revolutionary but it features really outstanding melodies and perhaps the most remarkable climax on this whole record. And super-groovy bassline. Last and final track Sea Of Mud starts with slow drumming spiced up with some oriental/ethnic melodies and speeches in background. While it slowly developes, you can feel it’s one of thoose closing downtempo tracks that we got used to in the past. Don’t expect anything spectacular, even it comes with nice electric guitar melodies towards the end. Free download available at Ektoplazm. Written by Richpa. Conclusion: Full review / rate it: http://www.neogoa.net/playing-the-presets-review/
  8. A nice gem released on Ektoplazm today. Since it has a lot of 'Goa' in it, why not share it here as well, I'm sure many of you will like this. 01 - Kierron Rajoilla (139 BPM) 02 - Hairahdus (140 BPM) 03 - Rahat Pois! (128 BPM) 04 - Donkey Kong (100 BPM) 05 - RooTest (146 BPM) 06 - Tuskien Taival (142 BPM) 07 - Fail Safe (139 BPM) 08 - Sea Of Mud (Mutameri Reggae) (100 BPM) Playing The Presets is the long-lost debut album of Finnish Goa/psy dub band Praktika (Heba & Ripa). The group formed during the recording sessions for Sörkkä Sonic, a collaborative album released in 1996 and attributed to Flippin’ Bixies, the original Finnish Goa trance super-group. Included on that album was Praktika’s earliest song, “Out Of Phase”. Playing The Presets was recorded during the Mutameri Sessions at the legendary Ääniasema Studios (also the home of Gad, M1D1L11TT0, O*men, and Squaremeat) between 1997–1999. This album was scheduled for release in autumn of 1999 on Exogenic Records but all master tapes were lost only to be rediscovered in the vaults of Johtoääni Studios in the summer of 2016. Nobody really knew what have happened and some blame aliens! All music is from pre-VSTi era when instruments were still made of red and silver plastic. Musically it goes from Goa trance to psy dub to psychedelic world music and Finnish forest funk. Gear used on this album: Roland SH-101, Roland Juno-106, Roland JV-1080, Korg Prophecy, Kurzweil K-2500 with sampling option, Peavey analog delay, Lexicon MPX1, Digitech Multifx, Mackie 2408 Mixer, Roland Alpha Juno 2, PC with Cubase, Sound Forge and Waves native Power Pack cracked by Radium. Credits: written and produced by Praktika with mastering by Heba. Original 3DMAX rendered cover art from 1997 by Mika. http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/praktika-playing-the-presets My review: http://www.neogoa.net/playing-the-presets-review/
  9. Artist: Sab Kuch Milegator Title: Shantimatter Label: Ektoplazm Date: July, 2015 01 - Cupcake Rainbow (123 BPM) 02 - Arigates & Sayosnares (126 BPM) 03 - Triptooth's Tribal Reboot (116 BPM) 04 - Massive Silly Cones (126 BPM) 05 - Vocal Volcano (128 BPM) 06 - One Love Dub You So (85 BPM) Donald f*cking Duck? Seriously? Both named Donald, both counting stacks, but I'd rather have this one as my president. What the hell is going on here? I found out about this from the forum which told me that this was our very own Oopie! So anytime one of our own has the courage to put their art out there (hell he may as well have used the bat-signal with that post) I'm only too happy to hear it. This thing saunters. It oozes toxic liquid. Groovy as hell, but don't turn your back on it cause it might f*cking stab you and run away laughing. The layers are deep and hypnotic creating a dark dream that's very psychedelic. The melodies go in directions that at first take seem dischordant and not very pleasing to the ear...almost chaotic. Like he's putting two things together that don't belong together. It's not often one finds true love...your money's on the dresser, chocolate. C'mon...we were all thinking it I just said it. There are only six tracks so they are of the longer variety and I know that I lost my way a few times. It has this progressive tempo, but is psychedelic in nature. The sound is great having been mastered by veteran masterer Deimos. Clearly this is something different and it pushes boundaries for those more accustomed to having their trance in a tidy little package. It might be a lot to take in on straight through listening, but there are some very good moments here. Free at Ektoplazm

  12. VA - Tales From The North Troll N' Roll Records Tracklist: 1. Tales From The North - Squees & Toxic Anger Syndrome & Gubbology 2. Shadowland - Oliveira 3. Huldrehaug - Maan 4. Chaku Hachi - Gubbology 5. Krakestan - Squees vs Gubbology 6. Trollsommar - Cut The Cheese 7. Den Sjunde - Trance-Ingvars 8. Fraxinus Excelsior - Oginok 9. Monsters - Zoon 10. Midnight Carousel Ride - Captain Kirk 11. Shiokara Situation - Discolin 12. Ragnarok - Toxic Anger Syndrome Weird, wild and hella fun, a groovy, drippy, trippy concoction of Scandinavian dark psy, forest, suomi and just a little bit of goa, all in one great, free compilation. "Tales From The North" is refreshing because of its suomi approach that often keeps the weird effects of its dark and forest psy feeling lighthearted and even celebratory. The three-producer intro on the title track finds Squees, Toxic Anger Syndrome and Gubbology employing some serious dancefloor grooves with a pleasant tempo that never gets overwhelming, all served up with a side of wicked forest effects and don't-give-a-shit suomi good-time vibes. A solid and hella fun beginning to the comp. Oliveira takes a much more normalized approach on "Shadowland," serving up a solid little full-on gem with a very pleasant and understated focus on goa effects. Fantastic job on this one, definitely one of the great highlights of the collection. It pairs very nicely with the melodic goa of Maan's "Huldrehaug," a track that, like most things on this compilation, rocks very nicely in its own subtle way. Sure, the energy is always there but nothing ever feels like it is trying to punch you in the head to let you know how important it is. Beginning with Gubbology's cool little groover "Chaku Hachi," an uber-funky track laden with forest effects that are fascinating because of how subdued and effective they are, the compilation goes in more for the weirder side of psytrance, sometimes on tracks that are spectacular, sometimes on tracks that are not. The out-of-control keyboard work on the unhinged energy of "Krakestan" is fantastic but the lazy forest grooves of Cut The Cheese's "Trollsommar" and too-trancey euphoria of Trance-Ingvars "Den Sjunde" don't quite make the grade. Oginok's "Fraxinus Excelsior" is one of the compilation's greats, constantly keeping things just a little off-balance with several direction changes through the first part of the track before settling into some great head-bobbing grooves for its second half. And, man, is it ever fucking easy to dance to. A lovely piece of work! The final four tracks get much deeper into the darker and experimental realms of sound and are best left to the subjective opinions of the individual listener in terms of quality. Sometimes those moments are daring and tantalizing (Zoon), sometimes forgettable (Captain Kirk), sometimes wilder than anything else on the compilation (Discolin), sometimes just plain dismal and angry (Toxic Anger Syndrome). In my opinion, the first half of this compilation is far better (and perhaps more accessible to the common psy listener) than its second half. Many of the finest moments come from Oliveira and Maan during those early tracks but be sure not to miss Oginok, the finest gem of the collection's second part. A quick Ektoplazm search shows a few other Troll N' Roll compilations available for download, many of those with several of the same producers that appear here. After "Tales From The North," you can be sure this will not be the last time this record label and I cross paths. I'm very much looking forward to discovering some other great gems off of those offerings. Available for free play or download at : http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/tales-from-the-north
  13. At Transition festival a couple of weeks ago I heard a tune with a sample taken from the intro to the TV show Glo Worms. Can anyone ID it for me? It was a darkpsy/forest/suomi style track and the sample was basically the entirity of this video: Thanks

  15. Trance Bum Productions presents Sourcerer Rhombus, the first release from Kaiku, a secretive project from Finland. Drawing upon ancient mythologies and traditions of the northern parts of the planet, Kaiku explores the mysteries of nature through audio-encoded geometric data, revealing hidden patterns in the open source database of life by activating and conducting biogenetic energy flows through living systems, causing them to vibrate in harmony with the universe. While respecting the old and experimenting with the new, these frequencies are carefully shaped to resemble forms of the real and surreal and take you from the normal day life to other worlds, to the worlds of future and past and back to the now. It contains echoes from the source, dancing spirits, and flying souls, breaking borders and returning to the roots. The choice is yoursthe full-power digital dimension guide book in your hand. Its all about vibrating this time, this space, and these frequencies. Right here, right now. Tune in! Mastered by Kaiku with artwork by Olpek. Preach brother Homer, preach. Here come the Finns. I think we can all agree that their musical contributions tend to be a little out there. Creative? Every single time, but like being a chubby chaser it's a bit of an acquired taste. Mine! She's mine!! I saw her first! Get the f*ck back! It's a free release from the People of the Butterflies (even their label name is out there) consisting of Finnish artists. I downloaded it for one reason and one reason only. The Intriga track. Having heard some splintering goa from that project I had hoped to find that here. Alas, it wasn't the case. He did make a pretty good psy track in the Infected Mushroom vein. Without the crappy singing or screaming I mean. The rest of it is chock full of crazy melodies and running bass lines. Funny vocal manipulations are of course here. And what would a Finnish compilation be without the sounds of a drunken Finn? It's highly psychedelic and inventive and like most Suomi stuff there are parts that I really liked and some that...I did not. How can an entire genre be so full of WTF moments? But any compilation that samples Homer SImpson gets the rubber stamp in my opinion. Some tracks are so predictable that you know how they're gonna end, but with the Suomi style you gotta listen to the very last minute. Know how I can tell they're f*cking with us? Their county's shaped like a dick. What's that now? Oh. That's Sweden. So what does Finland look like? Ah, that makes sense. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk

  18. Pavel Svimba – Space Babuska Album: Space Babuska Artist: Pavel Svimba Genre: Goa, Morning, Suomi Size: 163MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - Free Step On It! 02 - Space Babuska 03 - Cheese Garlic Story 04 - Bad Hair Day 05 - Narrow Shoulders 06 - Magnetic Fields 07 - Same Frequency Different Level 08 - Schrimp Cütter 09 - Pimputus 10 - Yellow Snail Man 11 - Lying Pyramid 12 - Fucking Brains 13 - Teknikal Problems Haha! This style is really happy and fun. I love it when people combine a funk atmosphere into the psychedelic spectrum, offering a really different way of developing progression throughout dance music. I can definitely dig each and every single track in this album. Easy to listen to, upbeat and chill, dance floor acceptable, and surprisingly brilliant mixes of funk and classic early psytrance influences blast through every guitar riff and goa tempo. It is so amazingly quirky and funky, offering a set of short and sweet progressive tracks. I have never really heard this “Suomi” thing before, but it is certainly something that can brighten up any day. Not only that, but the classiness in this offers replay ability again and again. I think I will always have this on my MP3 player, blasting it on my speakers while partying with friends. Some may think to themselves, “Oh, well, its just a beat against a typical funk background…” I thought this at first. After listening to the first two tracks, however, I realized it was much better than that. The producer puts in some really GREAT melodies mixed with unique and juicy psychedelic synths that go far beyond the funk genre. Yep, you heard me right, this is original funk. I didn’t think that existed. Combining famous styles is one thing, but combining famous style and making it your own with unique chord progressions and bootylicious baselines is another thing. That, and the instruments in this are all done amazingly well. The horns, guitars, and other conventional instruments blow me away. This album is simply a jewel and I can’t wait to try this out in my car. I want to see this used in movies, and if it isn’t I don’t want to live on this planet anymore. I find myself smiling at every track. I really want to dance. Hell, I really want to make other people dance. It’s just so danceable. I’m delighted every second, accompanied by a warm and sweet vibe that raises my spirits. It brings back a lot of classic memories of 90s Psytrance… now look what it has turned into! Don’t ever stop what you are doing guys, keep up the sexy work. 10/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thank to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth.
